Assignment 05
Title: Projection of Solids
(To be marked as sheet 05)

 Special credit will be given to the neatly drawn drawing sheets, good
presentation of the problems and space planning on the drawing sheets.
 All the statements on the drawing sheets must be written in proper
engineering lettering with the letter-case.
 Draw the projections of top, front and side views.

Q.1 Draw the projections of the following objects, resting on the

H.P. on their bases.
i. A cylinder, base 40 mm diameter and height 50 mm long.
ii. A cone, base 40 mm dia. And height 60 mm long.

Q.2. A cube of side 50 mm long is resting on H.P., draw its

projections when
i. Its vertical faces are parallel to V.P.
ii. Its vertical faces are equally inclined to V.P.

Q3. Draw the projections of a hexagonal pyramid base 30 mm side

and height 60 mm long, having its base on the H.P. and one of
the edges of the base inclined at 450 to the V.P.

Q4. Draw the projections of a pentagonal pyramid base 30 mm side

and height 70 mm long, having its base on the H.P. and one of
the edges of the base inclined at 600 to the V.P.

Q5. A hexagonal prism has one of its rectangular faces parallel to

the H.P. its axis is perpendicular to the V.P. and 3.5 cm above
the ground. Take length of the prism as 50 mm & side as 30 mm.
