CUR Open Badminton League 2025 - Official Rules

1. General Overview
- Open to all CUR students - girls and boys can compete against each other.
- Based on BWF rules with custom modifications.
2. Team Composition
- 6 teams total in the league.
- Each team must have at least 4 players.
- Exactly 1 female player is mandatory in each team.
- Each player can play a maximum of 2 matches per team tie.
3. Match Format (1 Tie = 5 Matches)
- Order of play:
- 1. Open Singles 1 (any gender)
- 2. Men's Doubles (2 male players)
- 3. Mixed Doubles (must include female player)
- 4. Open Singles 2 (any gender)
- 5. Open Singles 3 (any gender)
- Each match is best of 3 games, each game goes up to 15 points.
- Rally point scoring. Win by 2 at 14-14, cap at 17.
4. League Structure
- Round-Robin Stage: Each team plays 5 matches.
- Points System: Win = 2 pts, Loss = 0 pts, Walkover = -1 pt
- Top 4 teams qualify for semifinals:
- Semifinal 1: Rank 1 vs Rank 4
- Semifinal 2: Rank 2 vs Rank 3
- Winners play the Final.
- Tie-breakers: Ties won > Match diff > Game diff > Points diff > Head-to-head
5. Participation Rules
- Each player can play only 2 of the 5 matches per tie.
- Men's Doubles: 2 male players required.
- Mixed Doubles must include the team's female player.

- Submit team lineup before the tie begins.


6. Conduct & Venue
- Report 10 minutes before match time.
- Non-marking shoes and sports attire are mandatory.
- Misconduct may lead to penalties or disqualification.
- Organizers' decisions are final.
- Venue: KV, CURAJ.
- Shuttles: Yonex Mavis 350 or equivalent (provided by organizers).
7. Protests & Disputes
- Protests must be submitted in writing within 30 minutes of match end.
- Organizing committee decisions are final.
