1. This question paper contains 38 questions.
2. This Question Paper is divided into 5 Sections A, B, C, D and E.
3. In Section A, Questions no. 1-18 are multiple choice questions (MCQs) and
questions no. 19 and 20 are Assertion- Reason based questions of 1 mark each.
4. In Section B, Questions no. 21-25 are very short answer (VSA) type questions,
carrying 02 marks each.
5. In Section C, Questions no. 26-31 are short answer (SA) type questions, carrying
03 marks each.
6. In Section D, Questions no. 32-35 are long answer (LA) type questions, carrying 05
marks each.
7. In Section E, Questions no. 36-38 are case study based questions carrying 4 marks
each with sub parts of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
8. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Questions of
Section B, 2 Questions of Section C and 2 Questions of Section D has been provided.
An internal choice has been provided in all the 2 marks questions of Section E.
9. Draw neat and clean figures wherever required.
10. Take π =22/7 wherever required if not stated.

22. Two dice are tossed simultaneously. Find the probability of getting (i) an
even number on both dice. (ii) the sum of two numbers greater than 9.

(ii) no boy.
23. If √3 cot2A - 4cotA + √3 = 0, then find the value of cot 2A +
tan2A.
24. Find the ratio in which the line 2x+3y-5=0 divides the line segment joining
the points (8, -9) and (2, 1).
25. The coordinates of the vertices of triangle ABC are A(7, 2), B(9, 10), and
C(1, 4). If E and F are the mid-points of AB and AC respectively, prove that EF
= BC/2.
SECTION C
Section C consists of 6 questions of 3 marks each.
26. State and prove Basic Proportionality Theorem. Using this theorem, prove
the result given below: In ∆ABC, D and E are the points on the
sides AB and AC respectively such that DE || BC. If AD = 6x –
7, DB = 4x – 3, AE = 3x – 3, and EC = 2x – 1 then find. the
value of ‘x’.

A peacock is sitting on the top of a pillar, which is 9 m high. From a point 27 m
away from the bottom of the pillar, a snake is coming to its hole at the base of
the pillar. Seeing the snake, the Peacock pounces on it. If their speeds are
equal, at what distance from the whole is the snake caught?

28. If α and β are zeroes of the polynomial p(x) = 6x2 - 5x +k such that α- β =

30. In the givenFigure, shown a sector OAP of a circle with
centre 0, containing ∠θ. AB is a perpendicular to the radius
OA and meets OP produced at B. Prove that the perimeter of
PAB is r [tan θ + sec θ + πθ/1800– 1].
Or
Find the area of the minor segment of a circle of radius 14 cm, when its centre
angle is 600. Also find the area of the corresponding major segment. (use
π=22/ 7 and √3 = 1.732)
31. Prove that √7 is irrational.
SECTION D
Section D consists of 4 questions of 5 marks each.
32. A two digit number, when multiplied by 3, equals the square of sum of its
digits. If three times the sum of the digits is equal to the number itself, then
find the number.
Or
Represent the following pair of linear equations graphically and hence comment
on the condition of consistency of this pair.
3x + y – 12 = 0; x – 3y + 6 = 0
33. In the given figure, from an external point P, a tangent PT and a line segment
PAB is drawn to a circle with centre O. ON is perpendicular on the chord AB. Prove
that:
(i) PA.PB = PN2-AN2
(ii) OP2-OT2= PN2-AN2
(iii) PA.PB = PT2.
34. From an aeroplane vertically above a straight horizontal plane, the angles
of depression of two consecutive kilometres stones on the opposite sides of
the aeroplane are found to be α and β. Show that the height of the aeroplane

35. The median of the following data is 525. Find the values of x and y, if the
total frequency is 100.

Literacy rates of 40 cities are given in the following table. It is given that the

Section E consists of 3 case study based questions of 4 marks each.
36. In the month of September to October 2022, the exports of electric bikes from
India increased by 25% in the corresponding quarter of 2021-22, as per a newspaper
report.
A bike manufacturing company planned to produce 1000 bikes in fifth year and 1800
bikes in ninth year. Assume that the production increases uniformly by a fixed
number every year.
(i) Find the production in the first year.
(ii) Find the production in the tenth year.
(iii) Find the total production in the first ten years.
37. Triangle is one of the fundamental shapes observed in daily life
activities. The triangular trusses are important in the application of
architecture and construction for the purpose of roof creation and
serving as a support required for the stability of the roof and efficient
load bearing.

38. One day Vinod was going home from school, and saw a carpenter working on
wood. He found that he is carving out a cone of the same height and same diameter
from a cylinder and a cube as shown in the figures.
