regard to their personal experiences with their church and walk with the Lord.

Knowledge Gained From
Listening Sessions:
Scripture is extremely powerful, but this
generation is lacking the time or place to spend
more time in God's Word.
Social media is a dangerous distraction from
spending time with Jesus and is a valid struggle
for this generation.

Jesus'
Message
It is a myth that young people want a watered-down
teaching of the Bible.

"Taking Jesus' message
seriously means [we] pay
attention to the life and words
of Christ. Young people can
then articulate a gospel that
is less talk about beliefs and
more talk about Jesus."

Ministry Proposal:
Linger in His Presence Summer Program
Linger in Scripture
Location to hold a youth group for a week-long
study of scripture
Leaders/speakers who are willing to lead Bible
studies.
Food during study week.
Linger in Service
Community service opportunity.
Place to stay/food
Intergenerational people who are willing to be
involved in service and connect with the youth.
Possible Problems
Injuries while backpacking
Incompetent staff
Lack of housing and food resources
This is a summer program that will allow young adults to
escape the toxic pressure of social media and modern-day
society and step into a place of quiet in nature with the God
who created it. Next young adults will get the chance to set
aside time to deep dive into the Word of God and allow it to
speak power and wisdom into their lives and teach them how
to approach studying the Word. Lastly, young adults will be
given the chance to allow what God has done on the inside
to affect their actions by engaging in serving others
alongside intergenerational mentors, giving them a sense of
a warm community and how to be the best neighbors. This is
a summer program that should be repeated every summer.
