Making a video: evaluation

Use this checklist to review your video

Planning the video

❏ I created a short description of the planned video.


❏ I created a script to help actors speak on the video or narrate the video.
❏ I made a storyboard to plan the contents of each scene, the camera angles and how
each shot should be composed.

Shooting the video

❏ I used a range of:


❏ close-ups (e.g. close to someone’s face)
❏ wide shots (e.g. filming a landscape/whole room)
❏ pan shots (moving camera right/left left/right across a scene)
❏ zoom (in or out)
❏ dolly shots (camera moving with action, e.g. two people walking along next to
camera).

Editing the video

❏ I have split shots (broken a single shot into one or more smaller shots).
❏ I have cropped a shot by trimming the beginning or end.
❏ I have used or added sound to a clip or segment.
❏ I have used transitions between shots or segments.
❏ I have spliced together two or more video segments to make one longer section.
❏ I have included opening titles.
❏ I have included end credits.
❏ I have used a variety of special effects.
