A company requires 800 plastic boxes. There are four suppliers that stock these boxes. ALPHA sells each box at
R 50.00 each with a R 300.00 delivery fee, while BETA sells each box at R 60.00 each with a 10% discount on
the final price, and provide free delivery. GAMMA sells each box at R 70.00 with a buy-three-get-one-free special
and a R 120.00 delivery fee. Finally, KAPPA sells each box at R 75.00 with a third off the final price and a
R 200.00 delivery fee. Which supplier offers the best deal?

8.1. A company analyses its profits for THREE(3) consecutive years, from 2014 – 2016. The profit made in 2014
was 25% less than that in 2015. Also, the profit made in 2016 was R 3 million more than the profit made in
2014.

If the total profit made in these THREE (3) years was R 23 million, determine the profit made in each year.
