GUIDELINES TO STUDENTS

The following format should be followed in preparing the report

The following format should be followed in preparing the report

1. Module Standard Cover Page

2. Acknowledgement

3. Executive Summary

4. Table of Content following List of Figures and List of Tables

5. Content following the name of the assignment tasks and corresponding task number
(Introduction/Body)

6. Reference List - All references and citation shall use Harvard Referencing Style.

7. Bibliography

8. Appendices

Word Count for Proposal – 3,500

Word Count for Thesis – 15,000

General advice to students

1. Individual assessment (Course work) and should be presented in a ‘Report’ format

2. The word count for the assignment will be given by the module lecturer. The word count for
assignment should not exceed given limit (word count excludes figures, tables, charts,
appendices and list of references with 10% no penalty)

Example- If the word count given by the module lecturer for the assignment is 2000, there will
be an additional 20% word limit (400 words) which can be used.

3. Use relevant theory/models/frameworks/concepts to support your arguments

4. Students are required to conduct a thorough research using various research tools and relevant
information search. Students are required to identify the issues or problems for which they must
describe, analyze, and discuss in the assignment.

5. Intext citations where necessary; including for figures and diagrams

6. The assignment should be typed using 1.5 spaces between lines in 12 Times New Roman point
font.

7. Use proper report formatting techniques

8. Heading 01- Font size 16, Times New Roman point-font

9. Heading 02 - Font size 14, Times New Roman point-font

10. Heading 03- Font size 12, Times New Roman point-font

11. Margins - 1” from each side (Left/Right/Top/Bottom)

12. Alignment - Justify

16. The assignment should be printed on one sides of paper.

17. MS PowerPoint should be used as the medium for the presentation along with the standard
cover page in the first slide, assessment criteria, table of content, content, reference list at the end

(All references and citation shall use Harvard Referencing Style) IF LECTURER TOLD
TO DO SO.

18. Hardcopy of your report and the supportive hand-out must be submitted on the submission
date (NOT NECESSARY).

19. University rules will be strictly applied in the event of plagiarism and late submission. Late
submission of the assessment will result in a late penalty mark. Penalties for late submission: Up
to one week late, maximum mark of 50%. Over one week late, 0%. Only the Extenuating
Circumstances Panel may approve a change to submission dates.
