Course Description:
The course begins with definition and concepts of entrepreneurship, its importance to the
economic development. Innovation as essential issue to understand driver to entrepreneurial
process, entrepreneur’s background & characteristics, personal entrepreneurial competencies,
start up business, planning to finance and marketing and writing business plan to transform
idea in to viable business as well as enterprise development and government support.
Course objective:
The Objective of the course is to acquaint students with the principles of entrepreneurship and
its role in economic development of a country and to impart knowledge of the basic problems
of management of small business units. Specifically the course focused on
 Know the meaning, concepts, definition and evolution of
entrepreneurship
 Evaluating the necessary qualities and characteristics of the successful
entrepreneurial profile.
 Develop skills and knowledge on developing Creativity and the
Business Idea
 Develop how to manage and operate business
 Recognize and determine the steps necessary to open and operate a small
business enterprise.
 develop skills on writing up a business plan for transforming the
entrepreneurial idea
 Identify the marketing, financial, and other competencies needed by an
entrepreneur.
