COURSE TITLE CARE OF MOTHER AND CHILD AT RISK OR WITH PROBLEMS (ACUTE ANS CHRONIC)

COURSE DESCRIPTION  This course deals with concepts, principles, theories and techniques in the nursing care of at risk/high
risk/ sick clients during childbearing and childrearing years toward health promotion, disease
prevention, restoration and maintenance and rehabilitation. The learners are expected to provide safe,
appropriate and holistic nursing care to clients utilizing the nursing process.
COURSE LEARNING 1. Apply concepts, theories and principles of science and humanities in the formulation and application of

2. Provide safe and appropriate nursing interventions addressing health care needs of the at-risk/high-

during childbearing and childrearing years.
4. Practice maternal and child nursing in accordance with existing laws, legal, ethical and moral
principles as it applies to at risk/ high risk and sick clients.
5. Communicate effectively in speaking, writing and presenting using culturally appropriate language in
maternal and child care.

COURSE POLICIES
1. Students must participate and log-in regularly through the school LMS and class GC using their full name. For further inquiries, contact your
teacher through the contact details provided in this course guide.
2. Students are required to participate in the synchronous/asynchronous class via google meet, online interaction (e-discussion/threaded
discussion) posted in the LMS/GC. Interaction and participation in the online discussions is highly encouraged as it is one of the basis for
the tracking of your learning progress. Proper grooming including appropriate background during synchronous sessions should be observed
at all time.
3. Students must follow the class schedule and complete the required activities indicated in the course guide. Activities/assignments/quizzes
should be accomplished within the schedule indicated in the Course Guide.
4. Online synchronous quizzes will be on the LMS with a given limited time duration.
5. Students must practice independence and utmost honesty in accomplishing all their designated activities. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

6. Submission of any requirements must be in accordance with the deadlines given above. Late submission of any requirements, without valid
