Describe a place you have visited that is affected by air pollution
(Có thể nói bão Yagi cây cối ngã đổ, cống hơi, rác thải. )
1. Do you usually travel?
Yes, I travel quite often. I enjoy visiting new places and learning about
different cultures. It also gives me a chance to take a break from my busy
routine and relax.
2. Where do you usually go?
I usually visit my mother’s hometown two to three times a year to
reconnect with family and enjoy the peaceful countryside. Additionally, my
family has a deep love for the sea, so we often travel to Vung Tau for some
relaxation by the beach. It’s a perfect getaway to escape the hustle and
bustle of the city.
3. Have you ever been to any air polluted places? What are they?
Yes, I’ve visited several places in Vietnam where air pollution is a concern,
such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat City or Ha Noi City.
4. Which place is the most polluted one?
I believe that the most polluted place I’ve experienced is Hanoi, where the
air quality tends to be significantly worse, particularly in urban areas.
5. Where is it located?
Hanoi is located in the northern region of Vietnam and is the capital of the
country.
6. When did you go there?
This year, I visited Hanoi during the final days of summer, before the new
school year began.
7. Who did you go with?
I went with my family, including my parents and my younger sister
8. How did you get there?
On that vacation, my father drove us to Hanoi in his own car. The journey
took more than a day, and it could be the most exhausting trip I have ever
had. However, the long trip allowed me to enjoy wonderful views and
spent quality time together with my family.
9. What kind of pollution is there?
When I got there, I felt a little bit disappointed because Hanoi suffers from
various types of pollution like Ho Chi Minh City such as air pollution, water
pollution, noise pollution.
10. Which one is the most serious?
The most serious form of pollution is the air quality, largely due to traffic
congestion and industrial emissions.
11. Why is it serious?
Every day, millions of motorbikes and cars fill the streets, which leads to a
lot of exhaust fumes being released into the air. When I was walking
outside, I could see a thin layer of haze hanging over the city. It’s
especially bad during rush hours when the roads are full with vehicles, and
the air smells of fuel.
I also noticed that many people, including myself, wore masks when going
outside to avoid breathing in the polluted air. It can make you feel tired
and may cause some health problems, especially children and the elderly.
And maybe the most unlucky thing I’ve experience is that we visited
during the period when Hanoi was affected by Typhoon Yagi. Additionally,
the city struggles with a significant amount of uncollected waste on the
streets. As a result, after the storm passed, there was a considerable
amount of litter scattered around the city.
12. How do you feel about the pollution in this place?
I felt quite uncomfortable with the heavy pollution in Hanoi, as the dense
smog made it hard to fully enjoy the city. I would prefer to visit a place
with better air quality
13. Do you have any suggestions or solutions? What are they?
I believe there should be fines for those who litter on the streets, along
with increased public awareness campaigns and education for everyone,
starting from a young age, about the importance of maintaining a clean
environment. This would help encourage everyone to take personal
responsibility and work together to protect the environment.
