LINDA
Can't wait to finally wind down
after a long days of work.

OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT OF LINDA LOOKING AROUND THE DARK ROOM
(KEEP THE ROOM DARK AND MAKE HER USE HER FLASHLIGHT)
Linda walks through the room and into another using
flashlight

CLOSE UP SHOT OF LINDA WALKING THROUGH THE DOOR, WITH A


SLIGHT PAUSE IN THE BACKGROUND
Shadow figure moves in the background
LINDA (CONT'D)
Hmm... What to do?
Linda pours a glass of water

RULE OF THIRDS SHOT WITH THE WATER IN THE BOTTOM LEFT THIRD
AND HER FACE ON THE RIGHT THIRD WITH THE SHADOW FIGURE MOVING
IN THE BACKGROUND, THROUGH A GAP ABOVE THE GLASS.
Linda hears footsteps and snaps her head back
LINDA (CONT'D)
Hello? Who's there?
Linda sets the glass down and walks over to the noise with
her flashlight
LINDA (CONT'D)
Show yourself!

QUIET SHOT OF LINDAS SHOES WALKING, WITH ONLY THE SOUDN OF


HER FOOTSTEPS, BUILDING SUSPENSE
Linda walks cautiously to the noise, when suddenly, the
lights flash on and 6 people jump out

LINDA (CONT'D)
Ahhhhh!!!
EVERYONE IN UNISON
Surprise! Happy birthday!
LINDA
Oh my god! I can't believe you, you
scared the life out of me!
Everyone laughs as Lindas mom puts a party hat on her and
they sing her happy birthday.
you left for the party. What do you
even do there anymore?
BEN
We don't do much anymore Linda.
Only the basics, we just play some
games and have fun.
(Hesitant because he's
lying about his parties)
LINDA
That's so nice... Ben?
BEN
Yeah?
LINDA
Come on Ben, stop this. When are
you going to quit this act and just
tell me the truth?

BEN
The truth is, I'm just doing this
for the money. I want to support
you and the kid. I'll stop as soon
as he's born. Promise.
LINDA
Promise.
ZOOM OUT THE CAMERA TO SHOW THEM HOLDING HANDS AND FADE OUT
