My opinion: a balance needs to be made between investment in
arts and education, healthcare and housing
Paragraph 1: Art
- Arts – spirital, emotional, cultural values -> uplift human’s
spirit and mind -> make human more human
o Slave songs motivated them to overcome pain and
miseries
=> help to lift human spirits
o Paintings and sculpture reflects cultural and historical
events => Preserve cultural identity q
o Movies of war awaken viewers of how destructive they
can be => value peace and avoid wars

- Affect the lives of millions of citizens
- Improve the living standard and quality of life
- If not -> would create crises in that country

My view: artists should be granted the freedom of expression


Paragraph1: Some people’s view: why some people argue in
favor of a restriction on artists
o Worry about artists making use of art to attack the
governments
 China/North Korea (totalitarian governments) -> not
allow any artworks to attack/criticize the political
system -> induce people to take actions against the
government
Paragraph2: My view: There are various arguments in support
of making artists free to create any artworks
o The freedom of expression - Human right (in the United
Nation Convention on human rights)
o A sign of democratic and modern society
 The USA/England/Australia -> free to express their
ideas
o Build a better society -> bring social and political and
religious issues to light
