My Vacation in Prague
by Stanley Gerber
I went to Prague ten years ago. It wasn't the best vacation, but it was
interesting. There are a lot of great museums in Prague. My favorite was the
National Gallery. I saw some old and famous European paintings there. I
took a tour by boat on the Vltava River. And I walked in the city every day.
That’s usually the best way to see things. I also visited the Prague Castle.
Most of the time, I ate at a restaurant across from my hotel. The food wasn't
great, but it was cheap. It was a lot cheaper than food in my town. I took
buses, and I took the subway, too. They were good. The bus drivers were
friendly. The subway stations were clean. They were cleaner than our
subway stations at home.
My hotel was awful. The bed was older than my grandmother, and there
weren't any chairs. But I met an interesting person there. He's a doctor from
Brazil. He speaks Portuguese, English, and some Czech. We are still friends.
Next spring, I'm going to go to Vienna with him and his wife.
