Felix always wanted a dog.
He felt very lonely as the only child of his
parents. He had a room full of toys
but soon got bored of them. His parents
were well-known doctors, so they were
Always busy. He asked his parents
to get him a pet but they refused without a second thought. He tried
asking again, but his parents did not have time to listen to him. He did not
want to make them angry, so he kept quiet. He never brought up that
matter again.
One day, as Felix was on his way to school, he found a dog lying on the
pavement with an injured leg. Its leg was bleeding a lot. Felix could not
ignore the dog's pleading eyes, so he approached it slowly. The dog made
no movement, so he bent down to examine the wound. The wound looked
very painful. Felix asked the owner of a nearby shop to call the animal
rescue centre.
After ten minutes, a van with the logo of the animal rescue centre arrived
there. Two men lifted the dog up carefully and laid it on a stretcher. "Will
he be okay?" Felix asked the men. "Maybe...yes" one of them replied. Felix
wished that the dog would get better soon. He then walked to his school
as he was already late. He kept thinking about the dog on his way.
Many months passed and Felix completely forgot about the injured dog as
he got occupied with his studies.
One day, Felix was going to the nearby library when a tall, muscular man
wearing a mask stopped him. He looked mysterious and minacious.
"Where are you going? I will drop you," he said, pointing to his car. Felix's
parents had advised him not to talk to mysterious strangers. "No thanks, I-
I will walk" he stuttered. "Come with me, boy", the man demanded. This
time his voice was forceful.
Felix's blood ran cold. He tried walking in another direction but the man
grabbed his hand. Felix tried to get away from the man's vice-like grip.
Out of nowhere a dog pounced at the man and bit his arm. The man ran
away.
Felix realised that it was the same dog he saved a long time ago. When
Felix's parents got to know about the incident, they were very grateful to
the dog and kept it as their pet. Felix named the dog as Argus. From then
on Argus and Felix lived happily.
