Sub:Guidelines for Internship/Project work Students at RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant
1. Learning and Development Centre (L&DC) is the Nodal Department for
providing Internship training for students of AICTE/UGC approved institutes.
2. Eligibility:
Bonafide Student who is studying:
i. Engineering Disciplines: Students pursuing degrees in Mechanical,
Metallurgy, Production, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Chemical,
Civil, Mining, IT, Computer Science, or allied branches of engineering.
ii. Pharmaceuticals and Postgraduate Studies: B.Pharm students and those
who have completed at least one year of MSc, MCA, or M.Tech.
iii. Undergraduate Programs: B.Sc., B.A., B.Com, BBA, Honors, and other
relevant degrees in disciplines such as Computers, Chemistry, Physics, etc.
iv. Management and Social Sciences: PGDM, MBA, MMS, MHRM, MA in
PM&IR, MSW, and similar courses from recognized institutions.
v. Law: Full-time three-year LLB/BL or five-year integrated LLB courses.
vi. Other Modes of Study: Part-time, Distance Learning, and Online
(UG/PG/Diploma) courses from reputed and recognized
colleges/institutions/universities relevant to the steel industry are also
eligible.
3. Student has to register ‘Online’ for Internship training at RINL-VSP using the
link Project Trainee Registration inwww.vizagsteel.com

4. The internship fee may be paid on their joining date (or) prior to joining date at
any Bank of Baroda branch. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any
circumstances.
5. The internship fee for the first 8 weeks, will be charged per student @Rs. 400/-
per week or part thereof. In cases where Internship is for a period beyond 8
weeks, a fee of Rs.200/-per week or part there off or the period beyond 8 weeks
will be charged. The fee is inclusive of GST.
6. In case of students who are wards/spouse of employees/superannuated
employees ofRINL, for the first8 weeksfee per student will be charged @ Rs.
200/-per week or part thereof. In cases where Internship is for a period beyond
8 weeks, a fee of Rs.100/- per week or part there off or the period beyond 8
weeks will be charged.
7. Students belonging to SC/ST category will be allowed 50% concession in fee
subject to the submitting a community certificate issued by the competent
authority at the time of joining
8. No stipend shall be paid to the interns. They have to make their own
arrangements for their local movement.
9. The students have to report to Room: 206, 2ndFloor, L&DC, Visakhapatnam
Steel Plant, Visakhapatnam-530031 on joining date along with necessary
documents/certificates, proof of identity forward/spouse of RINL
employee/RINL-CISF/Home-guard as applicable, the Request Letter in original
which is uploaded at the time of registration and caste certificate (as applicable
to the students belonging to SC/ST for fee concession). The submission of
College/institute request letter in original as per the format at the time of joining
is compulsory.
10. The joining date of the student shall not be altered in any case once the joining
date is issued.
11. Hostel accommodation is very limited.
There will be a nominal fee for the allotted accommodation.
Accommodation will be allotted on first-cum-first-serve basis only on the
day of joining/admission for internship.
For male candidates, hostel accommodation will be on sharing basis
For female candidates, the accommodation will be at quarters on sharing
basis with other female candidates only.
The accommodation will be strictly subject to availability only.
Allotment of accommodation [hostel (for male)/quarter (for female)] on prior
admission/joining day will not be entertained.
12. All students must follow the Safety Guidelines in the Shop Floor and must wear
Safety Shoes and Safety Helmet. Safety Shoes and Safety Helmet shall be
borne by the individual only.
13. RINL-VSP will not be responsible for any untoward incident happened involving
the students during their training period.
14. L&DC has full discretion to cancel / terminate the training of any student(s)
without assigning any reason.
15. Duration of Internship/Summer Internship will not be reduced/extended in any
case and no refund of fee will be entertained.
16. The title of project may be changed with the discretion of Departments and L &
DC, if necessitates.
17. L&DC will review the progress of the Internship on weekly basis.
18. On completion of the Internship, student has to produce the following to L&DC
for obtaining certificate:
i) No due cum attendance certificate in the prescribed proforma duly
certified by the departmental Co-ordinator/project guide
ii) No dues from in-charge of Hostel/Township towards accommodation, if
applicable
iii) Project report in triplicate duly certified by the departmental Co-ordinator /
Project guide
iv) Certificate will be issued to concerned individual only
v) RINL has the right to cancel the internship of any student, whose conduct is
not good or the attendance is irregular or is undisciplined or does not focus
on the project assigned to individual
vi) Foreign national students studying in Indian universities/ Indian Institutions/
Indian Colleges are not eligible to undertake project training at RINL-VSP
