Selected Prototype Prototype design
(Describe how should it work, and how (Sketch here or attach a printed copy)
does it represent the selected solution)
Our selected prototype is designed to be a closed-loop hydroelectric
system. In this system, the water is cycled repeatedly through a
reservoir and then driven through a Turgo turbine. Just like how a dam
releases water to generate power, water is stored in a reservoir with a
controllable gate. When it opens, water flows out through nozzles and
hits the Turgo turbine, making it spin and potentially generating
electricity. The used water collects at the bottom and is continuously
pumped back into the reservoir. The reservoir’s gate is swiftly closed,
allowing the reservoir to refill before repeating the process. Therefore,
the turbine gets spun consistently, maintaining a steady flow of energy
generation. The turbine is connected to a dynamo with a permanent
magnet. As the turbine spins, the magnet rotates, creating a changing
magnetic field that generates AC. The AC is then converted to direct
current (DC) using a rectifier (diode), which is ideal for storing in
batteries, which are lithium-ion batteries. Schematic Design for the prototype
