GOVERNMENT OF ANDHRA PRADESH


YOGANDHRA 2025 CAMPAIGN ACTION PLAN

INTRODUCTION

Andhra Pradesh is set to host a major celebration for the 11th


International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2025, with Visakhapatnam being the
primary venue. The theme for this year's International Yoga Day is "Yoga for
One Earth, One Health." Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled
to participate in the event, making it a significant occasion.

The State Government, under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister


Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu, is making extensive arrangements to ensure the
event as global event. The goal is to achieve a record-breaking participation,
potentially surpassing the Guinness World Record of 1.53 lakh participants
set in Surat in 2023. State wide approximately 2 Crores people to participate
in mass yoga sessions in all the villages, wards, mandals and District
headquarters. The main event at Visakhapatnam will be conducted along the
RK Beach and Bheemili stretch. The Chief Minister has also suggested
expanding the event to include up to 5 lakh people by organizing sessions
along the coastline from Bheemili to Srikakulam.

To prepare for the main event and encourage wider participation, the
state government is launching a state-wide campaign under the theme
'Yogandhra-2025'. A 'Yoga Month' will be observed from May 21 to June 21,
during which yoga practice sessions will be conducted across all levels of the
state. The campaign aims to reach and motivate at least two crore people to
get registered, practice yoga with the help of trainers being organised and
participate on the eve of International Yoga Day on 21st June

Broadly the Yogandhra 2025 program is divided into two programs

A. Yoga Month (21-05-2025 to 21-06-2025)

B. IDY Main Event (21-06-2025)

OBJECTIVES

✓ To motivate participation of 2 Cr citizens of Andhra Pradesh and make


them aware about the positive benefits of Yoga for good health and
well-being and also encourage them to make it part of their life.
✓ To create a pool of 20 Lakh Yoga Practitioners with certification.
✓ To Organize International Day of Yoga, 2025 in a unprecedented scale
with participation of 5 Lakh people in Visakhapatnam.
✓ To realize the dream of Healthy, Wealthy and Happy Andhra Pradesh
as part of Swarna Andhra – 2047.

c. Enhance Engagement: Provide AI-
powered features like personalized
reminders, progress tracking towards
participation goals, or even integrate
with virtual event components like live
session recommendations.
d. Improve Event Management: To help
understand the geographical spread of
the interested candidates to participate
in the National Event on June 21st in
Visakhapatnam

solution to access the proficiency of Yoga

YOGANDHRA AWARENESS VERTICAL

1. Curtain Raiser program in all districts: Yoga demonstration to


be organized on 21st May as a part of Yogandhra 2025 inauguration
ceremony in all districts. Web application shall be launched for
registration of Yoga professionals, yoga instructors and people who
are interested to learn yoga. Door to door campaign should be
started to motivate people to register and participate in yoga
programs.
2. Yoga Demonstrations at Key Tourist Destinations: State is
planning to organize mass yoga sessions at 100 popular tourist
destinations across the state targeting 1000 participants per
location to promote wellness tourism and cultural integration. – 1
Per each district per each week.
3. Thematic Yoga Demonstrations with 26 Themes across 26
Districts from 26 May for 26 Days: The yoga campaign is planned
at the rate of one theme per District every day as State level event
with participation of at least 5000 people. Districts will conduct
Yoga program involving certain category of persons with common
theme. Each day one district will conduct the program. The
following are some of the examples
a. Women Yoga: Yoga offers numerous benefits for women,
supporting both physical and mental well-being. Special
competitions to women to bring motivation for daily practice
of yoga as a part of their regular lifestyle. 1 dedicated day
shall be selected for women along with prize distribution.

b. Celebrity Yoga Day: Prominent personalities from sports,
film, music, and public life will be engaged to promote Yoga
through events before the main day, which will be broadcast
via TV and digital platforms to inspire public participation.

4. Yoga Competitions: At various levels from Village to District


would be organized. Awards will be presented. The best
performing people will be brought to Visakhapatnam to participate
in International Yoga Day celebrations along with Hon’ble Prime
Minister. NSS/NCC volunteers to be actively involved. Visual
representation of yoga through songs shall be encouraged. Yoga
competition categories.
5. Educational institutions: One hour Yoga Training Program will be
conducted every day in all Educational Institutions during this one-
month campaign.
6. Outreach Campaign: Door to door campaign shall be conducted
by village/ward secretariat staff to create awareness on Yoga and
register the people for participation in Yogandhra campaign and
also IDY celebrations.
7. Daily Yoga Coverage in digital, print and social media: Leading
newspapers may be encouraged to publish daily articles, expert
columns, and advertisements covering Yoga's health benefits,
asana explanations, and tips from renowned gurus. Meetings shall
be organised with influencers.
8. Committees: The following committees which shall be constituted
at various levels – Group of Ministers, State Level Apex committee,
District Level Committee, Municipal level, Mandal Level and Village

Level committees for successful conduct of the campaign at various
levels.
9. Yogandhra Stake Holders: The organizations working in
popularizing Yoga like Art of Living, ISHA, Patanjali,
Brahmakumaris, Manthena Organization, Yoga sports association
of AP, Yogasana sports association of AP and Universities offering
yoga degree and certificate courses shall be actively involved in
this campaign

YOGANDHRA TRAINING VERTICAL


In association with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, it is
planned to train at least two trainers from each mandal i.e. one male and
one female at District level. These trainers will in turn train the staff from
villages for conducting yoga sessions at villages. The target is training 2
crore population during Yogandhra campaign period in the entire state.
All the people trained in yoga for three days as per AYUSH protocol will
be given certificate.

YOGA COMPETITIONS BRIEF INFORMATION

As part of the Yogandhra Campaign, a state-wide Yoga competition shall


be organized from the Village level up to the State level. The program will run
from May 26 to June 18, 2025, with winners getting an opportunity to
participate in International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2025.

Competition Levels and Schedule

The competition is planned across four levels over a 25-day schedule:

Village/Ward Level (May 26 – May 30, 2025)

• Theme: Yoga for All – Grassroots Wellness

Mandal Level (June 2 – June 7, 2025)

• Theme: Unity Through Yoga – Bridging Communities

District Level (June 9 – June 14, 2025)

• Theme: Yoga and Youth – Building a Healthy Future

State Grand Finale (June 16 – June 18, 2025)

• Theme: Yogandhra – Andhra's Global Yoga Showcase

Execution Strategy

All 26 districts will conduct competitions in parallel with local


coordination teams. Results will be uploaded to a central portal and winners
from each level will proceed to the next. The campaign will be supported by
district officials, yoga instructors, school teachers, volunteers, and public
representatives. Awareness campaigns will include digital and on-ground
promotion. The committees formed at various levels would supervise the
competitions ensuring fairness, transparency and spirit of Yoga.

Mandal/Municipality Level, District Level and State Level.

State Finale

The Grand Finale will be held in Vijayawada/Amaravati with


dignitaries and media participation. Top performers from Districts will
compete in front of a large audience, celebrating Yoga's impact on Andhra
Pradesh's health and culture.

PLANNING FOR INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA – 2025


A. Monitoring Progress and Addressing Challenges
1. Segregating collected data on participation numbers from the
registration portals and on-ground feedback.
2. Identifying and addressing any logistical challenges or bottlenecks for
21-06-2025 main event.

B. Intensifying Yoga Day Registration and Awareness:

1. Push for registrations for the mass yoga event on June 21st for 2 Crores
and above.
2. Publicizing the event details (location in Visakhapatnam and
potentially other regional centres)
3. Reinforcing the call for participation through all media channels.

C. International Yoga Day Preparations:


1. Final logistical arrangements for the Yoga Day events across the State
(venue setup, volunteer mobilization, safety measures).
2. Issuing guidelines for participants.
3. Planning for post-event follow-up and encouragement of continued
practice.

D. June 21st: International Yoga Day Mass Participation Events:


1. Organize large-scale yoga sessions across Andhra Pradesh, with the
main event in Visakhapatnam (as planned).
2. Aim for maximum participation to create a significant impact and
potentially a record with 2 Crore participation across the State of
Andhra Pradesh.
3. Recognize and appreciate the efforts of instructors and volunteers.

E. Post-Yoga Day:
1. Continue to provide access to online resources and encourage the
formation of local yoga groups for sustained practice.
2. Develop a long-term strategy for integrating yoga into daily life across
the state, potentially through educational institutions and community
health programs.

FORMATION OF COMMITTEES

It is proposed to constitute various committees at different levels to


conduct Yogandhra Campaign – 2025 successfully throughout the state to
meet the objectives laid out as per the vision set by the Government of
Andhra Pradesh. Joint Collector of the District is designated as a Nodal
Officer for Yogandhra 2025 from VS/WS level to District level.

DISTRICT LEVEL COMMITTEE

Composition

1. District Collector - Chairman.


2. Superintendent of police -Vice Chairman
3. Joint Collector – Nodal Officer.

5. District Education Officer
6. CEO, ZP
7. Regional Joint Director - Higher Education
8. Regional Joint Director - Technical Education

Roles and Responsibilities

The District Level Organizing Committee will be overall responsible for


conducting Yogandhra 2025 at District Level. The District Level Organizing
Committee is also responsible to look after various activities taken up at all
levels in the District. The committee shall ensure that maximum number of
people are getting registered and getting trained with successful
organization of yoga demonstration in Iconic/ Tourist locations and in the
given theme. Following are the responsibilities of the committee

• The committee is overall responsible for the successful


implementation of all the events planned as part of Yogandhra – 2025
in District. It is responsible for successful registration, training,
competitions and organizing yoga demonstrations in thematic and
Iconic/Tourist destinations.
• The detailed action plan shall be prepared by the concerned Districts
from VS/WS level to District level for conduct of Yogandhra Campaign.
• To map all the suitable places required for conducting the yoga at
Village, Mandal, District & State Level in coordination with Panchayat,
Municipal, Police and mainly Education Departments i.e., School
Education, Residential Schools, Retired Coaches, PETs/PDs etc and any
other department as decided by District Collector for smooth
conduction of Yoga sessions
• Ensure Levelling and Preparedness of finalized Yoga venues. Provision
of basic amenities like drinking water, toilets and other may be
ensured.
• To entrust the duties to the District Officers like DEO, PD-DRDA, CEO
ZP Welfare Officers of Social Welfare, B.C. Welfare, ST Welfare, CEO,
Zilla Parishad, all municipal commissioners, SEPR, . DMHO, etc., to
monitor the event at District Level.
• To entrust the duties to the concerned departments/agencies to
provide necessary arrangements like transportation, food, and
accommodation to the District Civil Supply Officer, etc., to the

participants during the event. Accommodation can be arranged if
required at the mandal level and District level. All the available
government hostels shall be allotted for this purpose.
• To entrust duties to the concerned Mandal Officers i.e., MRO, MPDO,
MEO, Mandal Engineer, EOPRD etc., to supervise the events at VS/WS,
Mandal and District Level to monitor and supervise and extend
necessary logistic support by dividing each mandal into segments, so
that each mandal officer will monitor only 04 villages.
• To utilize famous yoga expertise as brand ambassadors frequently for
various public programs.
• Invite volunteers through registration for contribution in the event
coordination and other essential tasks.
• To conduct meetings with Municipal Commissioners and entrusted
regarding tapping of municipal grants, PETs arrangements of
amenities like food, transportation, drinking water, chairs and
shamianas at venues at WS. And also, to conduct meetings for food &
T-shirts etc.,
• To publicize the events in print and electronic media widely and
conduct pre-launch events like rallies, walks, etc.
• To invite all the public representatives to the pre-launch programs and
during yoga competitions.
• At every level, the organizing committees will be overall responsible as
constituted by the District Collector to conduct the event and to meet
the Technical and Logistics arrangements.

The District Shall Appoint:

a. EIO - Event In charge Officer to monitor and manage each identified


event venues at villages and wards.

b. VLO - Village Level Officer for each Village and Municipality to monitor
all the activities at VSWS/Municipality level – Preferably Panchayat
Secretary at the Village Sachivalayam Level and Ward Administrative
Secretary in Urban Areas
c. MSO - Mandal Special Officer for each mandal to monitor all the
activities at mandal level. MPDO/Commissioner of Municipality may
be designated for the same purpose.
d. DSO - District Special Officer for each District to monitor all the
activities at Mandal level.

Organizing Committees: The District Collector shall constitute the


organising committees supervising, monitoring and successful conduct of
Yogandhra 2025 Campaign from VS/WS level to District level.

MANDAL LEVEL COMMITTEE

Composition

i. MPDO/MC – Chairman
ii. Mandal Revenue Officer
iii. Mandal Education Officer
iv. EO PRRD
v. Sub Inspector
vi. MO or representative of health department
vii. Any other mandal level officer as decided by the chairman

Rules and Responsibilities

The Mandal level organizing committee will be the overall responsible for
conducting games under Yogandhra 2025 at Mandal Level. The Mandal level
organizing committee is also responsible to look after the VS/WS level
activities with the coordination of the VSWS committee.

• The committee is overall responsible for the successful
implementation of all the events planned as part of Yogandhra – 2025
in Mandal. It is responsible for successful registration, training,
competitions and organizing yoga demonstrations in thematic and
Iconic/Tourist destinations.
• The Mandal Level organizing committee is overall in-charge for venue,
conduct of event, yoga arrangements, arranging of logistics i.e.,
accommodation, transportation, and food to all the participants.
• The mandal level organizing committee is also responsible to look
after the VS/WS level activities with the coordination of VS/WS
committee.
• The organizing committee should look after the protocol
arrangements for inaugural and closing events.
• The organizing committee should look after the facilities of Shamiyana
(Tent), tables, and mike set along with a speaker, chairs and drinking
water facility etc., as per the requirement

VILLAGE/WARD LEVEL COMMITTEE

Composition

i. Panchayat Secretary/Ward Admin Secretary - Chairman


ii. Village Revenue Officer/ Ward Revenue Secretary
iii. Headmaster/ Principal or senior teacher of Education Department
iv. Head Constable/ASI or any senior officer of the Police Department.
v. ANMs or any representative of the Health Department.
vi. Any other Sachivalayam functionaries as decided by the Chairman.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The organizing committee will be overall responsible for conducting


Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) under Yogandhra 2025 at VS/WS Level.
Activities to be monitored by the committee are as follows:

• The committee is overall responsible for the successful


implementation of all the events planned as part of Yogandhra – 2025
in Village/Ward Level. It is responsible for successful registration,
training, competitions and organizing yoga demonstrations in
thematic and Iconic/Tourist destinations.
• The organizing committee will be the overall responsible for venues
preparation, smooth conduct of event, distribution of arrangements
for yoga, logistics arrangements etc.,
• Panchayat Secretary is kept In-charge for coordinating the Data Entry
works of IDY APP Registration.
• The organizing committee should look after the protocol
arrangements.
• The organizing committee should look after the facilities of Shamiyana
(Tent), tables, and mike set along with a speaker, chairs and drinking
water facility etc.
• Arrange medical teams, toilets and drinking water at tournament
venues.
