PROJECT PROPOSAL

Theme: Utilization of the Available Resources for Community Development

Class: Senior Three

Project Title: Using Community ICT Resources to Promote Digital Literacy and Communication

Introduction

In today's world, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) plays a vital role in education,

business, and social interaction. However, many people in our community lack basic digital skills,

despite the presence of ICT resources like computers in schools, internet cafes, smartphones, and

radios. This project aims to utilize these available ICT tools to promote digital literacy, improve

communication, and support community development.

Problem Statement

Many community members, especially youth and women, lack knowledge on how to use ICT tools

effectively for education, business, and accessing important information. This digital gap limits

opportunities for development, yet ICT resources are available but underutilized.

Project Objectives

- To train community members on basic computer and smartphone usage.

- To promote the use of free or low-cost ICT resources (like school computers, internet cafes, and

smartphones) for learning and business.

- To create awareness on using ICT for communication, e-services, and accessing market

information.

- To encourage responsible use of ICT, including internet safety.
