Nowaday, sleep deprivation, especially among teenagers, is becoming more and more popular.

This problems have a lot of negative effects on mental health of teenagres, and finding a solution

is necessary.

First, the most common reason for this is because they often spend too much time on social

media and video games. Moreover, when looking at the light from the screen, the brain will be

forced to stay awake, making people not feel sleepy. Besides, the large amount of academy

workout is also a reason. A recent study has shown that more than 91% of teenagers sleep less

than 9 hours a day, which a normal person should sleep to have a good health. They often wake

up later, but the brain is still not fully awake, causing them to many mental changes, such as

depression and anxiety, and it also make them less focus in learning. In a survey of 28,000 high

school students, for every 1 hour of sleeping they loss, the rate of depression is increased by

28%, and for the suicide is 58%. Another study found that if they slept more during the day, their

rates of depression was three times higher. On the other hand, the abuse of stimulants such as

drugs or alcohol also increases if our sleep is not enough.

The harm of lack of sleep is very dangerous, so we need to give solution to help them sleep

more. Physical activity and less time spent on electronic devices are most encouraged. reducing

light in the bedroom and cool air is also important if you want a better sleep.

In conclusion, a good night's sleep helps sleep-deprived teens feel better in mind, body, and

spirit.
