Monica’s talented family.
Everybody in my family has got a talent. My dad composes music, and plays the piano and the violin.My
mum was an acrobat. My grandpa was an artist. My grandma was a famous opera singer, and I am a ballet
dancer. My dad was a music school student for 12 years, and he learnt how to play the piano and the
violin well. He also studied music at the Academy of Music, where he learnt how to compose songs
and conduct an orchestra.
My mum went to a special circus school where kids learnt acrobatics. She stayed there for 8 years and had a
really hard time. She had training sessions in the mornings and the late afternoons six days a week, and from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. she had ordinary lessons such as Polish, English, maths, biology, history, etc. She says that
she broke her legs and arms many times, but she loved being an acrobat. She felt great when she could
perform.
My grandpa did not finish a special art school. He was a history teacher, but he loved drawing and painting
and he was really good at painting portraits. My grandma was a real star. She travelled all over the world and
performed in opera houses in New York, London, Milan, Tokyo and Sydney. Magazines wrote about her and
she was very famous. Her career ended when my father and his twin brother were born. Well, I love dancing
and I go to a ballet school where I learn classical dancing, modern dancing and folk dances. I train a lot
because one day I would like to perform with the Royal Ballet in London. I would also like to learn how to
draw well.
