AE 305 LABORATORY RULES (Fall 2024)
A. QUIZ
• There will be 5 min long quiz before the lab in the laboratory side UM classes. Be in
UM1&UM2 sharply 10 min before the session starts (i.e. at 08.20). The quiz will start at
08.30 strictly. If you cannot join the quiz, you cannot join the lab and report writing
sessions.
• Questions will be asked from experiment sheets and related chapter. You can find each
Mondays corresponding experiment’s sheets (password protected) in lecture page of
AE305

Password is given in class lectures for AE305 students only, do not share it. All lecture
notes and experimental data sheets are copyrighted!
• Students are advised to read the detail of each experiment from the supplied sheets
before coming to the corresponding lab class.
B. LAB
• Labs will be held in “Aerodynamics Laboratory (AEROLAB)” with the guidance of lecture
assistant who will only guide you how to run the experiment. Come to lab well-
prepared. Each group should bring one copy of experiment sheet.
• During your lab, you will finish the experiment under lab assistant’s supervision
following the “Setup and Procedure” section of lab sheets.
• You must remain focused and complete the data collection as quickly as possible. Do not
loaf around during the experiment.
C. REPORT WRITING
• The reports will be written by each group just after the lab procedure and should be
finished and submitted to the lab assistant till 5.00 PM, strictly. No photocopies are
allowed.
• The lab report (no longer than 15 pages including data sheet) should include the
followings (unless otherwise specified):
1. Cover Page (Group number, name-surname of each group member, title of the experiment, date)
2. Objective / Theory
3. Procedure
4. Results (data sheet)
5. Sample calculations
6. Necessary plots (if any needed)
7. Discussion on results, errors and plots, etc.
8. Conclusion
• Each group should submit one report. DO NOT COPY/PASTE FROM OTHER GROUPS OR
INTERNET SITES. OTHERWISE YOU WILL NOT BE GRADED!
• The contributions of each members of the groups will be monitored by lab assistant.
• NO DELAY IN REPORT SUBMISSION IS ALLOWED.
