INTRODUCTION TO HISTORY OF COMPUTER

Computer is an electronic machine which accepts the data as input, process the data into useful
information and store it for later use. The word computer originated in 14th century and it comes
from a Latin word “Computare” which means “to perform calculations”. In 17th Century the
word computer is basically used for mechanical devices which is used for calculations after the
invention of first mechanical calculating device by Pascaline and “Stepped Reckoner” by
Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz.
