Schedule for Payment of Hostel Fees by on-roll UG, PG & Ph.D Students
for the Autumn Semester 2025-2026
All on-roll Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D students are required to pay their Hostel Fees for Autumn Semester 2025-26 as per the following
schedule. Detailed Hostel Fees structure is enclosed for quick reference.
Payment of Hostel Fees for the Autumn Semester 2025-26 01.05.2025 to 15.07.2025

Payment of Hostel Fees with fine of Rs.100/- per day After 15.07.2025, a fine of Rs.100/- per day will be charged w.e.f
16.07.2025 till the date of payment of Hostel Fee

Note : Request for fine waiver will not be entertained.
Following be noted for payment of Hostel Fees:
❖ All students (including students paying through a Bank Loan/Sponsoring Agency) need to pay fees using <online portal=
https://portal.iitb.ac.in/asc
❖ Instructions for online Hostel Fee payment are made available on ASC home page (https://portal.iitb.ac.in/asc). Students paying fee
through portal (online mode) must ensure that their transaction is completed in all respects.
❖ Bank Loan/ Sponsorship/ NEFT : The Official Fee Demand for such students, to pay the fees directly to IIT Bombay Bank Account, will
have to be generated on ASC Portal only

a) A demand will be valid for 10 days only, before which the money has to be transferred. In case of delays expected from the
agency transferring the fees, a fresh demand has to be generated.
b) Once the money has been transferred, the student must enter the UTR number and other details on the ASC portal.
c) Initiate the payment process with the agency at least 15 days prior to the fees deadline as it takes a few days for reconciliation
from our bank. Semester registration is linked to fee payment.
d) Students must not intimate IIT Bombay by email, as done during July 2024 and earlier. Only online fees demand and UTR entry
will be entertained henceforth.
The fee receipt will be generated after reconciliation, which may take 5-7 working days. Students need to collect the fee receipt in-person from the
Cash Section, IIT Bombay for their record purpose.

NOTE :
1. Hostel fees components (1 to 6) are applicable to the students who have opted for a hostel facilities. The charges against hostel
fees components ( 1 to 6 ) will be NIL for those who have NOT opted for hostel facilities.
2. Academic fee payment is mandatory while paying the Hostel fees.
3. The hostel fee needs to be paid till 15/07/2025, After 15/07/2025, a fine of Rs.100/- per day w.e.f. 16/07/2025 will be charged
till the date of payment of hostel fees. Request for fine waiver will not be entertained.
4. Every UG student staying in the hostel has to pay a <Per Semester Mess Advance= (SMA) of Rs. 22,500/- as indicated above. If
SMA is not paid on/before the due date, fine on SMA will be charged @Rs. 100/- per day after till the date of payment of SMA.
5. Students paying fees through (a) Bank Loan, OR (b) Sponsoring Agency (Private/Government ) are permitted to pay the Hostel
Fees directly to IIT Bombay Bank Account. Such students should request the Bank/Sponsoring Agency to transfer the Fee
amount directly to IIT Bombay Bank Account (https://www.iitb.ac.in/new acadhome/bankaccount.jsp), at least 10 days prior to
the last date of fee payment i.e by 15/07/2025, as reconciliation takes 5-7 working days and Autumn Semester 2025-26
registration is linked up with Hostel Fee payment.
6. Students availing loan from bank or any financial institution or scholarship from sponsoring agency or from any other source for
payment of Hostel Fees and could not receive the amount of loan requested/scholarship amount, should intimate the HCU
on/before 15/07/2025 and submit the documentary proof of submission of application for loan or scholarship to the concerned
authority, as the case may be. The application for loan or scholarship should have been submitted on/before 15.07.2025 to the
respective bank or financial institution or sponsoring agency.
7. Failing to pay the hostel fees within prescribed date or not intimating to HCU about applied loan/scholarship till 15/07/2025, it
will be presumed that the student is unwilling to stay in the hostel and the occupied hostel room will be vacated as per rules.

8. Those who intimate the HCU about applied loan/scholarship after 15/07/2025, a fine of Rs.100/- per day w.e.f. 16/07/2025 will
be charged till the date of payment of Hostel Fees.
9. If a registered student wants to stay in a hostel only for a short duration in a semester (i.e. upto 30 days from the beginning of
any semester), then the student should pay Hostel Fee of Rs.3500/-. For a stay in a hostel more than 30 days, full Hostel Fee will
be charged.
10. Pro-rata based hostel refund is not applicable.
11. IIT Bombay reserves the right to revise the hostel fee structure in subsequent semesters, as per the recommendation of the
competent authority.
12. For any query related to hostel fees/hostel room allotment/refund of hostel fees etc., students are advised to write to the
Assistant Registrar HCU ([email protected]) and a copy to the HCU office (hcu.offi[email protected]).

5. Married Ph.D. Students who are staying in quarters, such as MRSB/Tulsi/QIP, etc. are required to pay a License fee, etc. As applicable to
these quarters as per Estate Office rules.
6. Students paying fees through (a) Bank Loan, OR (b) Sponsoring Agency (Private/Government ) are permitted to pay the Hostel Fees directly
to IIT Bombay Bank Account. Such students should request the Bank/Sponsoring Agency to transfer the Fee amount directly to IIT Bombay

has to pay full hostel fee. The student may contact HCU for any assistance for payment of hostel fee.
