Introduction:
- Canada: is one of the biggest countries in the world with 40,1 million of
population, Canada is known WorldWise for its crystalline lakes and its towering
mountains that covered them with a mantle of continental ice.
- Canada is formed by 10 provinces and 3 territories, its capital it’s Ottawa and
Toronto, its currency is the Canadian dollar, and its language is English and
French.
- Canada has different types of climates that change from one region to another
and is always covered with snow in winter and has a temperatures below-20º in
winter and reaches 30º in summer.
Prices:
- Now, we are going to talk about the prices:
• Flight prices to Canada are around 510 euros both flights the one that goes to
Canada and the one that returns to Spain. We would leave from Málaga
because it is cheaper. The flight makes a scale in Paris.
• The hotel is around 150 euros one night in a 3-star hotel.
• living in Spain is a thirty percent cheaper than living in Canada, for that
reason the trip will be expensive for us.
• Moving around Canada is cheap.
Interesting places:
The places that we are going to visit are:
o Niagara Falls: It’s located between The United States and Canada, in the
northeast of the American continent, this monument of nature is formed
by three waterfalls that are born from Niagara River, they are: Horseshoe
falls, American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls. It is said that the most beautiful
of all is Horseshoe Falls.
o Banff National Park: Is the first National Park and the world's third
national park refuge, and part of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks
UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main features are the Rocky
Mountain peaks, glacial lakes and adventure
o Vancouver: It is a city surrounded by mountains and the Pacific Ocean,
Vancouver is a multicultural city with a strong economy and a lot of
activities to do. The climate is warm compared to other cities in
Canada.
o Toronto: One of the main characteristics of Toronto is the CN Tower,
553 meters high, and many celebrations are held in this city. It is a very
cosmopolitan city with a great economy and plenty of job opportunities.
As for its climate, in winter it is usually quite cold, but on the other
hand, in summer it is quite hot.
o Capilano Suspension bridge park: A 127-meter bridge that swings over
the Capilano River. Going through it is still a somewhat terrifying
experience.
o Churchill: It is most famous for the many polar bears that move
toward the shore from inland in the autumn, leading to the nickname
"Polar Bear Capital of the World"
o Whitehorse (Yukon): Yukon is one of the best places to see the
Northern Lights in the world. Here we can find some of the best
Northern Lights hotels in Canada. with large glass windows designed
to see the auroras.
o Ottawa: It is the political center of the country and stands out for having
beautiful architecture, as well as several art galleries and museums.
The most interesting area of Ottawa is the Parliament Hill'. Here are the
most important government buildings in the country.
FOOD:
o Butter tarts: It is a tart made of puff pastry with butter, sugar, egg and
syrup inside.
o Peameal bacon: It is a smoked bacon rolled up with pea flour.
o Salmon: It is a type of fish that is very popular in Canada. They eat it
smoked or baked.
o Maple syrup: It is a sweet liquid similar to honey that comes from
maples. They eat it with lots of foods as pancakes.
o Poutine: it is made of fries with cheese and a meat sauce.
o Calgary beef hash: It is made with minced meat, onion, potatoes. It is
very popular for breakfast.
SPORTS:
• ICE SKATING: for this sport we need special boots and ice, for this reason it’s
so popular in Canada. The skaters need to use their balance and their
strength to do dances, jumps and turns. You can do this sport inside a sport
center or outside, for example in lakes or in special rinks.
• ICE HOCKEY: In this sport two teams compete to get the biggest number of
goals by hitting a small puck with special sticks. Players need to skate on the
ice and pass the puck to different members of the team. This game involves
physical touch and strategy
• CURLING: This is a team sport played on ice where you need to slide a heavy
stone up to a base, which is a target, known as house. Two of the members in
the team use brooms to sweep the ice and make the stone go faster and in
the right direction. The goal is to get the stone close to the center of the
target.
