Day 1: [14/02/2025] - Introduction and Case Briefing

EVENING [6.30 PM TO 8.30 PM]


Arrived at ADVOCATE OFFICE and was warmly welcomed by his junior assistant . Received
an orientation about the firm's history, practice areas specifically civil cases and client base. Met
with my supervisor MR SHANKARA NARAYANAN BA LLB , who outlined the internship
expectations and assigned me to join his team who where discussing a civil case and regarding
their arguments in court. Reviewed the initial case file, which included many hearings and the
files regarding the case and some documents. At first I was not able to understand the case file
and it had many legal terms but my superior assigned his legal assistant to help me to learn
about the case.

Began to study the assigned case. Focused on identifying the key facts, legal issues, and
relevant legal principles. Researched preliminary case law related to property law, contract law,
criminal procedure.

Discussed my initial understanding of the case with the legal assistant, who provided valuable
feedback and suggested areas for further research.
The introduction was very informative. I'm excited to delve deeper into this case and learn
something and took some notes .

Day 2: [15/02/2025] - Legal Research and Drafting

EVENING (6:00 PM - 8:30 PM):


Conducted some legal research along with team members along with their guidance . Focused
on finding case law with similar facts and legal issues to the assigned case. Prepared a brief
memorandum summarizing the relevant precedents and their application to the current case.

Began writing the case in my internship diary with my additional notes that I took when studying
the case . Focused on clarity, conciseness, and legal accuracy. Reviewed my draft with my
superior, who provided constructive criticism regarding my handwriting and regarding clarity on
some notes.

Legal research is challenging but rewarding. I learned the importance of thoroughness and
attention to detail. I will focus on improving my legal writing skills, particularly in crafting
persuasive arguments, using proper legal citation.
Finally 2nd day ended with great enthusiasm of learning something new.

Day 3: [18/02/2025] - Court Observation and Client Interaction


Morning (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM):

Accompanied by my advocate sir to [TAMBARAM DISTRICT COURT] to observe a hearing of a


civil case dated 27/03/2023
Mr kannan V Tambaram municipal corporation. Observed how the counsel presented their
arguments,, and interacted with the judge. Took detailed notes on the proceedings.
After a good lunch with my team in court

Afternoon (2:00 PM - 5:00 PM):

Sat in on a client meeting with my superior . Observed how he gathered information from the
client, explained complex legal concepts in a clear and understandable way, and addressed the
client's concerns.

Observing real court proceedings was incredibly valuable. It helped me understand the practical
application of legal theory. The client interaction showed me the importance of empathy and
communication in legal practice.

Day 4: [19/03/2025] - Document Review and Analysis

EVENING
(6:00 PM - 8:00 PM): Reviewed and analyzed documents related to contracts and other cases.
I was reading some books from the small library in my office.Focused on identifying key
information and potential legal issues.

Assisted in collection of documents for next day's hearing in court . This involved organizing
documents, drafting summaries, and ensuring accuracy.
Document collection is a crucial part of legal work. It requires meticulous attention to detail and
the ability to synthesize large amounts of information.

Day 5: [20/02/2025] - Presentation and Wrap-up

EVENING (6:30 PM - 8:00 PM):

Preparing for summarizing my work on the case, including the key facts, legal issues, research
findings, and my analysis.

Presented my Internship diary with my work which includes my daily report and the case law
presentation to my superior MR SHANKARA NARAYANAN and other members of the team.
Received feedback on my presentation and my overall performance during the internship.
Discussed potential career paths in law and received valuable advice from him.
This internship has been an invaluable experience. I have gained practical skills in legal
research, writing, and analysis, and I have a better understanding of the day-to-day realities of
legal practice. I am grateful for the opportunity to have learned from MR SHANKARA
NARAYANAN and the team at [Organization Name].

Overall Internship Experience:


This internship significantly enhanced my understanding of day to day legal practice. I
developed skills in legal research, legal writing, client communication. I am now more confident
in my ability to analyze legal issues, conduct legal research, draft legal documents. I am very
