"Botox " principle
®

Facial muscle movement: responsible for dynamic


"worry" or "frown" lines such as:
- horizontal lines across the forehead,
- crow's feet and vertical lines between the eyes, nasal
labial fold laugh lines around the mouth,
- eventual mimic wrinkles.

Muscle contraction:
- acetylcholine release from the stimulated nerve at the neuromuscular junction.

Botulin toxin injection:


- inactivation of the neuromuscular junction through an inhibition of acetylcholine
release from stimulated nerves, therefore paralyzing muscle contraction,
- afforded a distinct (but risky) improvement to reduce dynamic wrinkles.
