Integrative learning

“Information in isolation is inert and unhelpful” –(Regehr)

Abstract
During the process of teaching, a lot of different and useful methods are applied.
Teachers employ several learning techniques as the means through which they
acquire information and knowledge. These insights come to them through their
surroundings and other individuals. It is required from teachers to be qualified and
should also have teaching methodology structured in such a way that is new and
brings good results in order to teach and educated and experienced students and
should also be structured in such a way that the teaching methodology is new and
brings good results. Thus, teaching method plays a much larger and more
significant role in the educational process.

In this article, issues such as a new and integrated teaching system, working
with it in which strategy, approaching students in a latest approach are discussed.
Since the integrative style is considered to be a new mechanism, in the process of
writing this report, a huge and new database was found, since the Integrative style
was considered a new style.
Key words: integrative, method, teaching methology

Actually, the teaching methodology is divided into two: passive and active. The
system of passive training includes the transfer of information from teacher to
student with a lecture and learning path. This is very monotonous, old-fashioned
and less effective method.Integrative learning system is belonged to active method.
In this methodology simple exhibitions, posters, maps, models, are used during
lesson: more attention is paid to visual. Because a person quickly remembers what
he or she sees. That’s why, most teachers are choosing this active teaching system.

 What is integrative learning?

First of all, we should know about what is integrative learning and understand
usage and benefit of it . For many interdisciplinarians, this connection is made
through integration. “Integrative learning can be an umbrella term for a wide
range of connection-making activities, which may include disciplinary
connections”(INTEGRATIVE LEARNING: A Grounded Theory by Jeannie
Brown Leonard, Dean Student Academic Affairs, Advising, and Retention George
Mason University; pg49). Integrative learning is a learning theory describing
describes a trend toward integrated courses that aid students in connecting
concepts from other curriculum. This higher education concept is distinct from the
elementary and high school "integrated curriculum" movement. That’s why, most
teachers working in universities use this method. Integration is the action of
joining, adding or replacing parts so that they are transformed into a whole part.
Through the integration of whole education system, establishing connections
among different fields(subjects), achieving the integrity of the content of education
through interaction between various educational programs, and achieving
comprehensive, not one-sided, development in the knowledge and imagination of
the teacher's world will be provided. Due to its high productivity, every
educational institutions are applying this method: “At Edith Cowan University, we
use integrative learning techniques, such as Peet’s ‘Hidden Moments’ activity to
help students recognise their own learning, drawing their knowledge from their
previous experiences and give students opportunities to make connections between
these experiences and the knowledge, skills and experiences that they have during
their course. A practical outcome of using integrative learning methodology
throughout a course is to help improve employability outcomes for students. This
workbook can be adapted for any School or discipline, according to its needs”

Teachers have a very important role in developing a real learning environment
that is appropriate and engaging for the students. The integrative method proposes
that teachers enable students to discover and produce new information during the
learning process, in contrast to the conventional view of considering learners as
blank slates. An interactive learning environment can meet this need. Divergent
methods of inquiry, real-world problem-solving exercises, and learners' written and
verbal sharing of ideas define it.
Interdisciplinary communication (integrative learning) serves as the basis for
the formation of a scientific worldview that teaches the pupils to correctly and fully
understand nature, use it rationally, think logically. The goal of integrative teaching
is to build knowledge about it that has subjective novelty rather than to familiarize
the learner with science's objective novelty. Integration in this sense may be
viewed as a method of assuring their interdependence, intended to repair the flaws
in the educational system, which is split into historically constructed academic
disciplines as a result of the differentiation of disciplines. Namely, in this teaching
method, it is necessary not to give the student knowledge in its finished state, but
to create the appropriate conditions for their synthesis. For example, by making
games, activities based on the new lesson. By playing and doing these activities,
lesson will be far more interesting, and also it can help students to understand the
new topic much easier and more completely. Integrative associated with
interpersonal comprehension and enables faster the developing of the students’
worldview.
 Difference between transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary
learning methods:
When a teacher instructs pupils to learn by memorizing and recitation
techniques, they are not developing their critical thinking, problem-solving, or
decision-making abilities. This is known as the traditional approach of teaching
(Sunal et al 1994) whereas a more interactive, student-centered style to teaching is
part of the contemporary or constructivist. However, the arrangement of teaching
content to link to or unite concepts that are regularly taught in different academic
courses or departments is referred to as integration of teaching. It simply refers to
creating links between theoretical knowledge and actual application.
Multidisciplinary education is the idea of studying a particular subject from a
variety of angles. Interdisciplinary education, which has been shown to improve
learning results and learning excitement, enables students to exercise critical
thought, recognize their own prejudices, embrace the unknowable, and appreciate
moral conundrums. Also, it helps students comprehend ideas from other fields,
synthesizes data related to a subject, and, in the end, provides a fuller knowledge of
a problem.
Multidisciplinary instruction goes beyond multi-disciplinary or cross-
disciplinary instruction, which just provides for the examination of several points
of view, and frequently necessitates cooperation between many educators in order
to be adequately carried out. However, transdisciplinary education combines
several academic fields in a positive way to create new information and advance
the student to higher levels of cognitive development, sustained learning, and
transferable skills. a method of curricular integration that blurs the boundaries
between traditional disciplines and centers teaching and learning on the creation of
meaning in the context of contemporary challenges and concerns.
 How to use integrated teaching method?
Interactive educational technologies are divided into teaching individual and
group. The second way is to work with the group. This stage is carried out in high
school. In primary classes, students are dealt with individually. To expand their
worldview and range of thinking, tasks are assigned to a house with various
exhibitions. Instead of memorizing boring and difficult formulas, they are
explained in a simple and easy way. The second way is to work with the group.
This stage is carried out in high school and it is aimed at developing thinking and
intelligence (project activities, brainstorming, discussions with class), include
interaction with society (step by step, playing cases). If student is not managing to
work with a group, teacher work with the this student individually during a while.
After training with teacher, that student can work in a group. By this way, a
psychological atmosphere is created in the classroom: students are encouraged to
help each other and learn to work in a team. Teachers have a very important role in
developing a real learning environment that is appropriate and engaging for the
students. The integrative method proposes that teachers enable students to discover
and produce new information during the learning process, in contrast to the
conventional view of considering learners as blank slates. An interactive learning
environment can meet this need. Divergent methods of inquiry, real-world
problem-solving exercises, and learners' written and verbal sharing of ideas define
it.

Conclusion
Nowadays, most people are changing positions according to different
reasons(they are not satisfied with their work, they do not have enough
experience and knowledge-skills). Therefore, future personnel will have
sufficient knowledge and skills in their field at school, in a higher educational
institution, and in order to do this, teachers will be able to abandon the old
teaching system and use the new teaching system lozim. In addiction, in this
changing world, people need to be flexible about any changes that come out of
their way to achieve success. And they will be helped by a new learning system
integrated learning. Because this method uses group work, creativeness and
speed, and it has its usefulness not only to the student, but also to the teacher
