2 Design and Solution
2.1 Initial Battery Capacity Calculation

Design principle:
The system is engineered to deliver a minimum of 2.5 MW for the beginning of life capacity. At the
point of coupling (MV POC), the initial system capacity exceeds this baseline requirement, ensuring
robust performance from the outset. The initial capacity is determined using the following
calculation formula:

Parameter Formula

System Dischargeable =ΣBlock Dischargeable Energy@POC

Energy@POC

Block Dischargeable = (Nominal Capacity*Grouping Eff*DOD*SOH*PCS Eff-Aux

3.2.2 BCU
The BCU is mainly to collect the operation information of batteries in the whole rack like voltage
and current, alarms and protects the abnormality of the packs; it can protect the battery pack
according to the safety requirement and ensure the safe and stable operation of the BESS. If
abnormal faults such as serious overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent short circuit), leakage
(insulation) and others occur, the BCU controls the disconnection of the entire group to prevent the
cells from being over- charging, over-discharging and over-current; at the same time, BCU-B30-201
makes comprehensive determination based on the various information and pick out the cells that
need to take maintenance measures.
