Devil

Devils are beings who are physical manifestations of fears in the collective subconscious of
humanity. They gain strength from said fear, and the more the concept they are named
after is feared, the more powerful they are. Devils will often take aspects of the concept
they are named after in their appearance and abilities.

Age: Devils do not commonly age, though they do change appearance over time.

Size: Devils can take on many different shapes and forms depending on the Devil, from
humanoid to monstrous.

Speed: Base walking speed is 40 ft

Hit Dice: 1d10

Proficiencies:
Ability Modifiers: +1 Strength, +1 Constitution, and +2 to stat of your choice
Saving Throws: Constitution and (Depends on Devil)
Skill Proficiencies: 1 Expertise and 1+int proficiencies (Minimum 1)
Penalty to diplomacy with civilians
Bonus to intimidation with civilians

Traits:
Devil Power-
Devil Power will vary based on the type of Devil, and the power must relate to the Devil’s
identity. The more feared the topic a Devil revolves around, the stronger the Devil. For
instance, the Sea Cucumber Devil is weak and frail, but the Gun Devil is a monster of power
Devils can make contracts with Humans, requiring a certain debuff from the Human in
return for granting them some form of demonic power.

Blood-
Devils have a pool of blood which is taken from to use their abilities.
A single Blood Point equals 1 Liter of blood. Humans on average have around 4-6 liters of
blood in their body.
As a bonus action, you can spend blood points to heal yourself for an equal amount of your
Hit Dice, this amount can’t be greater than your proficiency bonus. This healing will also
regenerate one limb, or part of the body per Blood Point.
As a bonus action a Devil may also transfer their own Hp into blood points with one hit dice
of damage being one point to a maximum of 5 Hit Dice at a time.

Blood Pool-
You have a Pool of Blood within your body which is the main source of your abilities. Your
Blood Pool amount is equal to (Devil Rank times 2)+Level

Fear-
For all devil-kin (Fiends, Hybrids, and Devils) you are able to drain the sanity of other
beings through fear. To do so roll an Intimidate check against the target’s Wisdom Saving
Throw. If you roll higher you drain the target’s Sanity.

Contracts-
A devil can offer some of their power to a human who offers something in return. (Note:
There is no persuasion penalty when forming contracts). You may be asked to offer power
in specific moments or to grant a permanent boon, which one you choose will depend on
the specific contract. If you do offer a permanent boon a semblance of that power will not
be accessible to you unless it is returned. Regardless of what the deal is, you must follow
this contract by all means or risk dying. If your presence is needed to use your abilities
when you're not around, you will be able to briefly appear for a short time to use said
ability when the contracted human needs it.

Size Category-
As a devil your size can vary depending on what type of devil you are. Each size category
comes with its own benefits and drawbacks.
(Roll with advantage when grappling an entity of a size category below you)

Devil Body-
When a Devil’s Health reaches 0, they become Prone until they are able to drink blood.
While in this state, the Devil’s heart can be hit with a Called Shot. A hit will result in a failed
Death Save. If a Devil finds a human corpse while in this state, they can take over that
corpse to become a Fiend.

Natural Armor-
Devils can get natural armor depending on the devil that they are. The Size Category also
applies to Armor Class, but larger Devils especially will make up for the armor penalty with
more Natural Armor. Devils are usually given Natural Armor if it connects to their name.

Death-
If a Devil were to die at any point, they would reincarnate within Hell with no memories of
who they once were or what happened before then. Their personality in this incarnation
may have some traits connected to what Devil they are, but they are still considered a new
being. A Devil will appear in hell at Level 1 and will have to work to gain their strength
again. Weaker Devils usually do not last long in Hell however. When a Devil dies in Hell they
reincarnate again back on Earth, with no memories and once again starting at Level 1.
