The Department of Education (DepEd) has embarked on its education reform initiative, the MATATAG: Bansang Makabata, Batang
Makabansa Agenda, which establishes a clear direction for the agency and its stakeholders in addressing fundamental challenges in
basic education. To effectively implement these reforms, it is essential to consider the current educational landscape and societal
conditions. A comprehensive understanding of these realities enables the Department to recognize both existing and anticipated
challenges, allowing it to adopt strategic measures that align with its vision. Thus, the MATATAG Curriculum is designed to be adaptive,

responsive and dynamic educational framework that adapts to societal changes. The WAP serves as a structured guide for teachers to
integrate learning action cells (LACs), collaborative expertise, and strategic teaching methods into their practice.
DepEd Order No. 24, s. 2022, also known as the Basic Education Development Plan 2030 (BEDP 2030), outlines priorities such as
access, equity, quality, and resiliency in education. The WAP aligns with these priorities by ensuring that teachers receive upskilling and
