SB330 - 600 - Bladder-Accumulators - SB

Bladder accumulators are versatile hydraulic components consisting of a rubber bladder within a steel shell, designed for energy storage, shock absorption, and pressure maintenance. They are available in various elastomer materials to accommodate different fluids and temperatures, and can be installed in multiple orientations depending on the application. Common applications include agricultural machinery, mining equipment, and construction tools, with specific model codes indicating pressure ratings, sizes, and connection types.

BLADDER ACCUMULATORS

Bladder Accumulators
The standard bladder accumulator consists of a “closed” rubber bladder
inside a forged steel shell. A mechanically actuated valve closes when the
fluid has been expelled, blocking off the fluid port, thereby enclosing the
bladder within the shell. Where high discharge rates are required, a high flow
model is available.

SB Series Bladder Materials
Not all fluids are compatible with every elastomer at all temperatures.
Bladder Accumulators Therefore, HYDAC offers the following choice of elastomers:
• NBR (Standard Nitrile)
• LT-NBR (Low Temperature Nitrile)
• ELT-NBR (Extra Low Temperature Nitrile)
• ECO (Epichlorohydrin)
• IIR (Butyl)
• FPM (Fluoroelastomer)
• Others (available upon request)

Corrosion Protection
For use with certain aggressive or corrosive fluids, or in a corrosive
environment, HYDAC offers protective coatings and corrosive
resistant materials (i.e. stainless steel) for the accumulator parts
that come in contact with the fluid, or are exposed to the hostile
environment.

Mounting Position
Description HYDAC bladder accumulators can be installed in any orientation
depending upon the application. When installing vertically or at an

for numerous types of hydraulic systems involving energy storage,
listed below, specific positions are preferable:

and volume compensation. They are a first choice for a great variety • Energy Storage:

The gas and fluid sides are separated by the bladder.

System Mounting
