Statement of Purpose

My name is Md. Rifat Rahman and I currently live in Rajshahi division, Bangladesh. I was born in 20th of November
1995 and completed my Secondary School certificate (S.S.C) and Higher school certificate (H.S.C) fron Rajshahi city.
MY Father’s name is Md. Atikur Rahman and my Mother’s Name is Mst. Sarwari Jahan. I am looking forward to
start my masters in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at your prestigious University. My Father will be my main
sponsor for the study and living in Australia.

My fascination with the transformative power of electronics began during my undergraduate studies in Electrical
and Electronics Engineering at American International University (2013-2016). Graduating with a CGPA of 3.00 and
a specialization in electronics with a focus on project-based learning, I developed a strong foundation in the field.
This passion fueled my professional journey, leading me to a successful career as an engineer in the electrical and
electronics industry since 2018. Across three diverse positions, I have gained valuable experience in various aspects
of the field, further solidifying my desire to pursue advanced studies.

As my first job was at Advanced Insight Company Ltd. an as an Assistant engineer, I was responsible for managing
and overseeing construction projects from initial planning to completion. My duties would include reading and
interpreting technical drawings, managing and supervising contractors and workers on site, ensuring that work is
completed to the required quality standards, and managing budgets and timelines for projects. After that I worked
at Multi Product Engineering Ltd and as an Assistant Application Engineer for building automation system and fire
detection & protection system I was responsible for designing, programming, testing and commissioning of various
solutions for building management and safety. The main tasks included:

- Developing and implementing software and hardware configurations for building automation system (BAS) and
fire detection & protection system (FDPS) according to customer requirements and specifications.
- Performing site surveys, system analysis, troubleshooting and technical support for BAS and FDPS projects.
- Coordinating with project managers, contractors, vendors and end-users to ensure smooth project execution and
customer satisfaction.
- Keeping up to date with the latest technologies and standards in the field of building automation and fire safety.

My current job is the main contributor for me to persue and achieve more academic experience and shine in this
field of excellence. Currently working as an on-site supervisor and technical engineer responsible for technical and
management aspect of NESCO ‘Smart Prepaid Meter Project’ Rajshahi division for Shenzhen Star Instruments CO.
Ltd. alliance with Prime Minister’s project office “Nationwide Smart Prepaid Meter Installation Project”. My
responsibilities include:

- Conducting the installation of smart prepaid meters in various locations, considering the technical, financial and
environmental aspects.
- Design and implement a project plan for the installation, testing and commissioning of the smart prepaid meters,
ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety regulations
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the installation team, providing guidance and troubleshooting support
as needed
- Establish and maintain effective communication between the smart prepaid meters and the server, using secure
and reliable protocols.
- Customize the smart prepaid meters according to the specific needs and preferences of the customers, such as
tariff rates, billing cycles and payment methods.
- Provide regular maintenance and troubleshooting for the smart prepaid meters and the communication network.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance and impact of the smart prepaid meter system on the energy
consumption and customer satisfaction.
While my current role allows me to make valuable contributions, I am driven by an insatiable desire to expand my
knowledge and delve deeper into the theoretical and research-oriented facets of electrical and electronics
engineering. This yearning, coupled with the field's rapid evolution, compels me to pursue a Master's degree. This
advanced qualification will equip me with the specialized knowledge and expertise necessary to tackle complex
engineering challenges and become a key contributor to future advancements in the field.
