PREFACE

Welcome to our 2024 Camp Meeting!

This is the last Camp Meeting in this the Second Watch of this fifth generation
after the end of the 2300 year prophecy on 22nd October 1844. This fifth
generation is functionally a new first generation in a new cycle. October 22,
2024 will begin the third watch in this generation which started on October
22, 2004.

Generations and Watches are not about setting a time for our Lord’s return,
but rather, they show our need to repent for the long delay and the need to get
ready with urgency for Final Crisis.

Let this be a Camp Meeting of much prayer, praise, and consecration to God,
praying for the latter rain of the Holy Spirit.

Welcome to Camp Meeting 2024! May God richly bless us all!

Brother Elliot Douglin

INTRODUCTION

Palmoni, the Wonderful Numberer, by the Holy Spirit, the Teacher of

Righteousness according to Righteousness teaches us to count in the word of
God. The command of Revelation 13:18 is “Here is wisdom.Let him that hath
understanding count the number of the beast…..”. But we must understand that
the wisdom to count 666 and to overcome 666, is received by counting and
experiencing the number of the Name of Jesus 888! In order to count 888
and 666 we must learn the Biblical meaning and significance of many other
numbers, indeed an exciting and deep intellectual and spiritual exercise!

We must have the Holy Spirit to teach us the deep things of Jesus, Our Lord and
Saviour. 1 Corinthians 2: 11- 13

“For what man knoweth the things of a man, but the Spirit of man which
is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit
of God. Now we have received, not the Spirit of the world, but the
Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things which are freely
given us of God. Which things we speak not in the words which man’s
wisdom teachers, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing
spiritual things with spiritual.”
i
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans
8:14.

“Through the ministry of the angels the Holy Spirit is enabled to

work upon the mind and heart of the human agent and draw him to
Christ.... But the Spirit of God does not interfere with the freedom of
the human agent. The Holy Spirit is given to be a helper, so that man
may cooperate with the Divine, and it is given to Him to draw the soul
but never to force obedience. OFC 136.2

“Christ is ready to impart all heavenly influences. He knows every

temptation that comes to man, and the capabilities of each. He weighs
his strength. He sees the present and the future, and presents before
the mind the obligations that should be met, and urges that common,
earthly things shall not be permitted to be so absorbing that eternal
things shall be lost out of the reckoning. The Lord has fullness of grace
to bestow on every one that will receive of the heavenly gift. The
Holy Spirit will bring the God-entrusted capabilities into Christ’s service,
and will mold and fashion the human agent according to the divine
Pattern. OFC 136.3

“The Holy Spirit is our efficiency in the work of character building, in

forming characters after the divine similitude. When we think ourselves
capable of molding our own experience, we make a great mistake. We
can never of ourselves obtain the victory over temptation. But those
who have genuine faith in Christ will be worked by the Holy Spirit. The
soul in whose heart faith abides will grow into a beautiful temple for
the Lord. He is directed by the grace of Christ. Just in proportion as he
depends on the Holy Spirit’s teaching he will grow. OFC 136.4

“The influence of the Holy Spirit is the life of Christ in the soul. We do
not now see Christ and speak to Him, but His Holy Spirit is just as near
us in one place as another. It works in and through every one who
ii
receives Christ. Those who know the indwelling of the Spirit reveal the
fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness,
faith. OFC 136.5

“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus
Chris. To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen”.2 Peter 3: 18

CHAPTER ONE

THE FOURFOLD
VICTORY OF
THE144, 000

And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire; and them that had
gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark,
and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the
harps of God. Rev.15: 2.

The end-time remnant must be victorious over:

1. The beast, 2. His image, 3. His mark, 4. The number of his name.

NAME AND CHARACTER

Understand that the name has a number, and in scripture name means character

Exodus 33: 18, 19

When Moses asked God to show him His glory, God said “I will make all
my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of YAHWEH
before thee.

Notice the equivalence between God’s goodness (character) and the

name of the Lord.

The Fourfold Victory of the144, 000 | 1

Exodus 34: 6, 7;John 17: 26;James 1: 17;1 John 1: 5; 2 Corinthians 4: 4 to 6

Similarly, the name of the beast and his image will be indicative of the Satanic
character of the end- time image of the beast and the mark of the beast USA-led
global confederacy.

The fundamental principle of Satan’s government is selfishness, self-centredness,

self-exaltation. Satan originated the thought- pattern or mind -set of selfishness.
1 John 3:8; Isaiah 14: 12 -14. Paul calls it the carnal mind in Romans 8: 7 and
the “I” in Gal.2: 20.The carnal mind is self-centred motivation, attitude and
thinking.

This satanic mind of self is opposed to God’s Love, God’s Law and God’s truth,
craves the worship that is due to God alone, and employs compulsive force
and cruelty to achieve its goal. This mind of self will fall to the second death
Isaiah 14: 15.

In contrast the mind of Christ will be exalted above every other name.
Philippians 2: 5-11.

LAMB -LIKE VS DRAGON- LIKE (REVELATION 13:11

“The lamblike horns and dragon voice of the symbol point to a striking
contradiction between the professions and the practice of the nation
thus represented. The “speaking” of the nation is the action of its
legislative and judicial authorities. By such action it will give the lie
to those liberal and peaceful principles which it has put forth as the
foundation of its policy.

The prediction that it will speak “as a dragon” and exercise “all the
power of the first beast” plainly foretells a development of the spirit
of intolerance and persecution that was manifested by the nations
represented by the dragon and the leopard-like beast. And the statement
that the beast with two horns “causeth the earth and them which dwell
therein to worship the first beast” indicates that the authority of this
nation(USA) is to be exercised in enforcing some observance which
shall be an act of homage to the papacy.” GC 442.1

2 | Chapter 1
Read: John 8: 44; John 16: 1 to 3: Romans 8: 6,; 2 Thessalonians 2:3, 4.

TWO DIFFERENT CHARACTERS AND PRINCIPLES OF GOVERNMENT

“The exercise of force is contrary to the principles of God’s government;

He desires only the service of love; and love cannot be commanded; it
cannot be won by force or authority. Only by love is love awakened. To
know God is to love Him; His character must be manifested in contrast
to the character of Satan. This work only one Being in all the universe
could do. Only He who knew the height and depth of the love of God
could make it known.” DA22

“Compelling power is found only under Satan’s government. The Lord’s

principles are not of this order. His authority rests upon goodness,
mercy, and love; and the presentation of these principles is the means
to be used. God’s government is moral, and truth and love are to be
the prevailing power”. DA 759.1

The number of a name is another way of revealing the character of that name.

INTRODUCING THE WONDERFUL NUMBERER

Daniel 8: 13 is mysterious Hebrew text: One holy being is speaking to another

holy being and says unto that certain holy one who was speaking.

The Hebrew word translated that certain holy One (KJV) is Palmoni which means
Wonderful Numberer or Numberer of Secrets and is none other than the Son of
God. Colossians 2: 1 to 3.

“And I hear a certain holy one speaking, and a certain holy one saith to the
Wonderful Numberer who is speaking: Till when is the vision of the continual
sacrifice, and of the transgression, an astonishment, to make both sanctuary
and host a treading down?” Young’s Literal WWTranslation of Daniel 8: 13

The Fourfold Victory of the144, 000 | 3

In contrast to the majority who will worship the image of the beast and have his
number and name.Rev.13: 15 to 18….

God’s end-time remnant will have Jesus’ Name and His Father’s Name in their
foreheads, His character fixed in their minds. Rev.14: 1

“Then I looked, and behold the Lamb was standing on Mount Zion and
with Him 144000 who had His name and His Father’s Name written in
their foreheads” Rev.14:1(New American Standard Bible)

The numbers 6, 7, 8 are among the significant numbers of Bible prophecy.

From these primary numbers we derive 666, 777, 888

Only the Wonderful Numberer, by His Spirit, through His word, can teach us
the meaning of these numbers

We are challenged to count or calculate the number 666 of the beast in

Revelation 13: 18

“Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of
the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred
threescore and six”

In order to have the wisdom to count the number of the beast we must have
the mind of Jesus brought to us by the Holy Spirit to enable us to count the
Number of the Name of Jesus and in Jesus Name and its Number be victorious
over the number and name of the beast.

COUNTING WITH PALMONI

We will see that we have a lot of counting to do. The end-time saints must be
victorious over the number of the name of the beast!

4 | Chapter 1
THE NAME OF JESUS

Read of the power of Jesus Name in these texts: Luke 10: 17; Mark 16: 17;
John 14: 14; John16:26, 27; Philippians 2: 10, 11.

The name “Jesus” is unique, because it means “Yah (Yahweh) is salvation” and this
is additionally strengthened by the numerical value 888 (24x37=8x111=2x444).
This important number symbolizes eternity and perfection. It also symbolizes
the victory over evil. We do not know of any other person›s name that also gives
the value 888 in the Greek language. «Iesous” consists of 6 letters. The 6 is the
number of man, because the Son of God became the Son of man and won the
victory for us.

CLOSING ADMONITION

“There are many mysteries in the Word of God that we do not

comprehend, and many of us are content to stop our investigation
when we have just begun to receive a little knowledge concerning
Christ. When there begins to be a little unfolding of the divine purposes
to the mind, and we begin to obtain a slight knowledge of the character
of God, we become satisfied and think that we have received about
all the light that there is for us in the Word of God. But the truth of
God is infinite. With painstaking effort we should work in the mines of
truth, discovering the precious jewels that have been hidden.... Jesus
meant just what He said when He directed His disciples to “search the
Scriptures” (John 5:39). Searching means to compare scripture with
scripture, and spiritual things with spiritual. We should not be satisfied
with a superficial knowledge.” OFC 133.2

CHAPTER TWO

LET HIM THAT HATH

UNDERSTANDING
COUNT THE NUMBER
Rev.13: 18.
In Daniel 8: 13 we are introduced to the mysterious name Palmoni which
means Wonderful Numberer. The Bible is replete with numberings of The
Wonderful Numberer.

THE NUMBER 6

In Genesis 1: 26 to 31 mankind was created on the sixth day of creation week.

God gave them all they needed as free gifts. They, as created intelligences,
were to keep themselves fully surrendered to God. The very next day was God’s
creation seventh day sabbath rest. And so long as they remained in complete
self- surrender to their Creator, their Number 6 would rest in God’s Rest
Number 7, and victory, number 8, would be guaranteed.

But if they put self before God, their Number 6 would then signify self-
exaltation and there would be no rest.

Satan had planned his strategy of approach to the woman with his nefarious,
insidious and deceptive, false reasoning. Genesis 3: 1 to 5. Satan inserted the
fundamental principle of his government as written down in verse 6. Eve was
deceived and disobeyed. Though Adam realized that she was deceived, he,

6 | Chapter 2
nonetheless, chose also to disobey, and thus occurred the perversion of the Pre-
fall innocent self into a perverted self- centered self and their 6 became the same
as Satan’s 6.

How do we know this ? In Genesis 3 after their disobedience, God called unto
Adam and then also spake to the woman. In their answers to God they used “I”
six times, count their I’s in verses 10, 12, 13!

And in Isaiah 14:12 to 14 Lucifer used the personal pronoun 6 times in a God
defiant manner. (Count the five “ I’s” and one “my”)

In the Genesis 11 account of the building of the Tower of Babel, the personal
pronoun “us” or “we” is used just 6 times. Genesis 11: 3, 4. Thereafter whenever
Babylon is mentioned in scripture, the number 6 is mysteriously prominent.
Examples:-

(a) The measurements of Nebuchadnezzar’s image of gold: Daniel3: 1: -

(60 cubits × 6 cubits)
(b) In Daniel 3 the term ‘worship the golden image’ is mentioned 6
times (verses 5, 7, 10, 12, 14, 18)
(c) And in the Book of Revelation the term “worship of the image”
is mentioned 6 times as well! Rev.13: 15; 14: 9, 11; 16: 2; 19:20;
20:4.
(d) Also in Daniel 3 six different musical instruments were used in
the worship-celebration of the golden image.
(e) In Daniel 4 the ‘tree’ that symbolized Babylon’s supremacy
under Nebuchadnezzar is mentioned 6 times.
(f) In Daniel 5:4 Belshazzar met his doom while praising the gods
of gold, silver, brass, iron, wood, stone --- 6 in all.
(g) In Revelation the name Babylon is mentioned just 6 times. Revelation
14: 8; 16: 19; 17:5; 18:2, 10, 21.

To the Jew the number 6 was the number of unrest, the number of sinful man. If
a number was written in treble it indicated the eternity of the thing symbolized,
thus 666 meant eternal unrest. (See Rev.14: 11). King Solomon found it so

Let Him That Hath Understanding Count the Number Rev.13: 1818 | 7
in his experience, for his annual income was 666 talents of gold, a fabulous
income but completely unsatisfying to his soul (1 Kings 10: 14; Eccles.2: 8 to
11, 17.

END- TIME APPLICATION

The Satanic principle of self-exaltation will be fully expressed through a
deceived world in the final crisis.

CHAPTER THREE

THE NUMBER SEVEN

THE NUMBER SEVEN IN CREATION

Genesis tells us that God created our planet and solar system in six days, and,
upon completion, God rested, blessed, and set apart as holy the Seventh Day!
Genesis 2: 1- 3. Based on this cycle of work and rest, God commands us to also
work for six days and then complete the week by resting on the seventh day,
the day God set apart as the Holy Sabbath. Exodus 20: 8 – 11; Hebrews 4: 1- 11;
Mark 2: 27, 28.

The Number Seven in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament): 7(other)

Notable References.

1. In Genesis 21: 28 -32 Abraham made a covenant with Abimelech and

gave him a gift of seven ewe lambs to seal the covenant.

2. Every seventh year was to be a Sabbath of rest for the land. Leviticus
25:1-7

3. The Israelites were to count Seven sabbaths of years = 7 times 7 years

= 49 years, and cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth
day of the seventh month throughout all the land to announce the
Jubilee to be celebrated in the fiftieth year. Leviticus 25: 8- 17.

The Number Seven | 9

4. Every seventh year, the Israelites were to cancel all debts and free their
slaves. Deuteronomy 15:1, 2, 9

5. In the well known account of the fall of Jericho in Joshua 6 (read the
first 6 verses), God instructed Joshua and his army to march around
the city once a day for six days and then seven times on the seventh
day with seven Priests blowing seven trumpets.

6. The Psalmist extolled the completely perfect purity of God’s word as

silver tried in the furnace purified seven times. Psalm 12:6

7. Solomon declared the complete perfection of Divine Wisdom:

“Wisdom hath built her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars”
Proverbs 9:1. We must thoroughly study and rightly divided the word
of God to arrive at the complete truth.

The Number Seven in Christ’s Sufferings and Death at the Cross

The number seven also denotes the completion of Christ’s sacrificial atonement
at Calvary. He uttered seven statements from the Cross:

1. “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do” Luke 23: 34

2. “Truly, I say unto you today, you will be with me” Luke 23: 43

3. “Woman, behold your son!” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold,

your mother”John19: 26, 27.

4. “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Matthew 27: 46

5. “I thirst” John 19:28

6. “It is finished” John 19: 30

7. “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit” Luke 23: 46

Then after His death on the 6th day of the week, He rested in the tomb on the
seventh day sabbath of that week, before His resurrection on the first day of the
next week. Luke 23: 52 – 56; 24:1-3.

10 | Chapter 3
CHRIST’S TEACHINGS IN GROUPINGS OF SEVEN STATEMENTS
In the Lord’s Prayer Jesus gave 7 petitions to our Heavenly Father. Matthew
6: 9 – 13

1. Hallowed be thy Name

2. Thy Kingdom come

3. Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven

4. Give us this day our daily bread

5. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors

6. Lead us not into temptation

7. And deliver us from evil

Jesus also used 7 Statements in St John’s gospel to describe Himself as God’s

gift of salvation to humanity. Jesus is: 1. The bread of life(John 6: 35); 2. The
Light of the world (John 8:12); 3. The Door to salvation (John 10: 9); 4. The
Good Shepherd (John 10: 11); 5. The resurrection and the Life(John 11: 25,
26); 6. The way, the truth, and the life(John 14:6); 7. The Vine (John15: 1, 5).

THE NUMBER SEVEN IN THE BOOK OF REVELATION

The number 7 is very prominent in the book of Revelation. There are 7
churches (Revelation chapters 2 and 3; 7 seals (Revelation 6:1 to 8:1); 7
trumpets (Revelation 8:2 to 11: 15). And the mysterious 7 lamps of fire before
the Throne, which are the 7 Spirits of God” (Revelation 4:5 KJV)

SEVEN: COMPLETENESS AND REST

The number 7 represents perfect completeness and Rest. We have already
discussed the fact that the Cross in Greek is stauros which carries the numerical
value 777= eternally complete perfection!

“God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by
whom, the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world” Galatians 6: 14.

The Number Seven | 11

“I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in
me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God
Who loved me and gave His life for me” Galatians 2: 20.

Self (6) must be crucified (7) with Christ in order that the victorious life of
Christ (8) be ours. And it is all in Christ! Seven is the number of Sabbath rest
in Christ. Seven is the number of death to self in Christ in order that eight
be number of Christ’s victory in our lives. The only way of escape from 666 is
through 777 to 888. Colossians 2: 10; Colossians 1: 28, 29.

Eternal Rest from sin, eternal perfection occurs only by the principle of the
Cross which is unselfish, self- sacrificing Agape Love, which is the eternal
principle of the government of God, and was fully demonstrated and revealed
at Calvary where the incarnate Son of God suffered the full consequences of
our collective human guilt in order to redeem mankind. Jesus, as our Substitute
and Surety, suffered the infinite pain of separation from His Father, caused by
our Corporate human guilt! Individual humans are free to see, respond to, and
receive this indescribable Love of God and accept the free gift of salvation and
in this final generation receive the seal of the living God, fully reflecting His
Character of Agape Love before the on-looking universe!

12 | Chapter 3
CHAPTER 4

THE NUMBER EIGHT

The Wonderful Numberer, Palmoni, is introduced in Daniel 8: 13 just before

the announcement of the 2300 day-years of Daniel 8: 14.This signifies that
increasing light on the symbolic numbers of the Bible will enable the remnant
of the woman’s seed to have the understanding to count, that is, to analyze the
end-time issues through the numbers given to us by The Wonderful Numberer.

Last study we introduced the symbolic numbers six and 666, and 888! In order
to understand 888 better we need to study the number 8.

THE NUMBER 8

The number 8 is first counted in the Genesis account of the Flood when 8
persons were saved. Noah and his wife, his 3 sons and their wives. Genesis 6: 10;
Genesis 7: 7. 1 Peter 3: 20; 2 Peter 2: 5. God used those eight persons for a new
beginning of the human race after the Flood. Here we see the number 8 as the
number salvation victory and also the number of a new beginning.

The Number Eight | 13

CIRCUMCISION ON THE EIGHTH DAY

We next see the number 8 in Genesis 17: 7- 12, when God promised to
establish His covenant with Abraham and commanded him to circumcise
all the males in his household and that thenceforth new born male
babies were to be circumcised on the eighth day after birth. Isaac was
circumcised on the eighth day. Genesis 21: 4.

The Apostle Paul explained that that rite of circumcision was to keep before
Abraham and us the new covenant truth that selfishness(=works of the flesh)
must be cut off from the controlling position in the human spirit and replaced
by the living principle of unselfish Agape Love in the Holy Spirit in Christ
and by Christ. Romans 2: 28, 29; Colossians 2: 11 -13; Ephesians 4: 22- 24;
Romans 8: 2 (in fact verses 1 to 4).

The instrument of circumcision of the flesh was a knife, the instrument of

circumcision of the heart is the principle of the cross of Christ. Christ Himself
won the victory over our fallen flesh (which He took on) by the principle of the
cross (= self emptying), which was continuously and constantly applied to His
learning obedience by the things He suffered. Romans 15:3; John 5: 30; John
6: 38; John 4: 34; Hebrews 2: 10; Hebrews 5: 8.

Self must be dethroned and Agape Love enthroned in the human spirit for
spiritual growth and character perfection. This requires initial and daily
conversions and daily receiving of increasing measures of the Holy Spirit.

“It is one thing to assent in a general way to the agency of the Holy
Spirit, and another thing to accept His work as a reprover calling to
repentance. Many feel a sense of estrangement from God, a realization
of their bondage to self and sin; they make efforts for reform; but
they do not crucify self. They do not give themselves entirely into
the hands of Christ, seeking for divine power to do His will. They are
not willing to be molded after the divine similitude. In a general way
they acknowledge their imperfections, but they do not give up their
particular sins. With each wrong act the old selfish nature is gaining
strength”. COL 48.2

14 | Chapter 4
“The only hope for these souls is to realize in themselves the truth of
Christ’s words to Nicodemus, ‘Ye must be born again.’ ‘Except a man
be born from above, he can not see the kingdom of God.” John 3:7,
3, margin. COL 48.3

“True holiness is wholeness in the service of God. This is the condition

of true Christian living. Christ asks for an unreserved consecration,
for undivided service. He demands the heart, the mind, the soul, the
strength. Self is not to be cherished. He who lives to himself is not a
Christian.” COL 48.4

“Love must be the principle of action. Love is the underlying

principle of God’s government in heaven and earth, and it must be
the foundation of the Christian’s character. This alone can make and
keep him steadfast. This alone can enable him to withstand trial and
temptation.” COL 49.1

“And love will be revealed in sacrifice. The plan of redemption was

laid in sacrifice—a sacrifice so broad and deep and high that it is
immeasurable. Christ gave all for us, and those who receive Christ will
be ready to sacrifice all for the sake of their Redeemer. The thought of
His honor and glory will come before anything else.” COL 49.2

“If we love Jesus, we shall love to live for Him, to present our thank
offerings to Him, to labor for Him. The very labor will be light. For His
sake we shall covet pain and toil and sacrifice. We shall sympathize
with His longing for the salvation of men. We shall feel the same tender
craving for souls that He has felt”. COL 49.3

“This is the religion of Christ.. Anything short of it is a deception. No mere

theory of truth or profession of discipleship will save any soul. We do
not belong to Christ unless we are His wholly. It is by halfheartedness in
the Christian life that men become feeble in purpose and changeable
in desire. The effort to serve both self and Christ makes one a stony-

ground hearer, and he will not endure when the test comes upon
him.” COL50

Christ’s victory is given to us as a free gift and also the method of

obtaining that victory is given to us as well. Luke 9:23, 24; Galatians 2:
20; Galatians 5: 24; Galatians 6: 14.

Victory Over 666

Selfishness fully developed in a last day man or woman will cause that
person to receive and be part of the end-time number 666 and the
image and mark of the beast confederacy. All aspects of selfishness
(self) must be cut away from the character by the Cross of Christ (777)
in order for a last day remnant believer to have the number 888 of
Jesus Character fully reproduced in the sanctification of spirit, soul and
body. 1 Thessalonians 5: 23.

The Revelation 18: 1 – 4 final gospel message will call Jesus’ “other
sheep” out of Babylon (666) into Jesus (888) by the message of His
character of self- sacrificing Agape Love and the Seventh-Day
Sabbath Rest of crucifixion of self (777) will be sealed in them by
the Holy Spirit!

THE NUMBERS 8
AND 888

THE NAME “JESUS” AND THE NUMBER 888 (NUMERICAL VALUE)

The Septuagint (Latin for seventy, abbreviation LXX) is the oldest

translation of the Hebrew Bible and into ancient Greek everyday
language (Koine). The translation originated around 250 BC and
was made by the Hebrews (mainly in Alexandria). Most books were
translated until about 100 BC. Important to note: The three Hebrew
names “Yehoshua”, “Yahoshua” and its short version «Yeshua» (or
Yashua) were all translated by the Jews into Greek as “Ιησους” (Iesous).
From this the English JESUS is derived. This means concretely that the
Jews themselves have translated the name “Jesus” from Hebrew into
Greek. It was not a pagan or Christian invention, as some falsely claim.

In our last lesson we learnt that 8 is the number of spiritual circumcision,

circumcision of the heart which means victory over the flesh, over self, over
the old covenant. The incarnate Son of God won this victory over Satan, over
the flesh, over the world, over or self-will; and He won the victory in our fallen
flesh which He took on in the incarnation. Romans 8:3; Hebrews 2: 14 -17;
Romans 1 3; Hebrews4:14-17

The Numbers 8 and 888 | 17

SATAN WAS UTTERLY DEFEATED
On the Cross, Christ utterly defeated Satan. Let us read Colossians 2:11- 15.
This victory is given to us and we receive it by being in Him. Read 1 Cor.15: 57;
2 Cor.2: 14; Romans 8: 1- 4.

CHRIST INVITES US TO OVERCOME AS HE OVERCAME

Read Rev.3:21. We are to receive His victory and use it to overcome as He
overcam overcame. Philippians 2:13.

CHRIST EMPTIED HIMSELF

Let us read Philippians 2: 5 – 11 ESV

10+ 8 +200+70+ 400+200=888

5
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ
Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature[a] God, did not consider equality with
God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself
nothing (= Emptied Himself) by taking the very nature[b] of a servant,
being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!
9
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name
that is above every name, 10
that at the name of Jesus every knee should
bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11
and every tongue
acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

“The scenes of the past and the future were presented to the
mind of Jesus. He beheld Lucifer as he was first cast out from the
heavenly places. He looked forward to the scenes of His own agony,
when before all the worlds the character of the deceiver should be
unveiled. He heard the cry, “It is finished” (John 19:30), announcing that
the redemption of the lost race was forever made certain, that heaven

was made eternally secure against the accusations, the deceptions, the
pretensions, that Satan would instigate. DA 490.2

“Beyond the cross of Calvary, with its agony and shame, Jesus looked
forward to the great final day, when the prince of the power of
the air will meet his destruction in the earth so long marred by his
rebellion. Jesus beheld the work of evil forever ended, and the peace
of God filling heaven and earth. DA 490.3

“Henceforward Christ’s followers were to look upon Satan as a

conquered foe. Upon the cross, Jesus was to gain the victory for them;
that victory He desired them to accept as their own. “Behold, ” He
said, “I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and
over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt
you.” DA 490.4

“The omnipotent power of the Holy Spirit is the defense of every

contrite soul. Not one that in penitence and faith has claimed His
protection will Christ permit to pass under the enemy’s power. The
Saviour is by the side of His tempted and tried ones. With Him there
can be no such thing as failure, loss, impossibility, or defeat; we can
do all things through Him who strengthens us. When temptations and
trials come, do not wait to adjust all the difficulties, but look to Jesus,
your helper. DA 490.5

“There are Christians who think and speak altogether too much about
the power of Satan. They think of their adversary, they pray about
him, they talk about him, and he looms up greater and greater in their
imagination. It is true that Satan is a powerful being; but, thank God, we
have a mighty Saviour, who cast out the evil one from heaven. Satan
is pleased when we magnify his power. Why not talk of Jesus? Why not
magnify His power and His love? DA 493.1

The Numbers 8 and 888 | 19

“The rainbow of promise encircling the throne on high is an everlasting
testimony that “God so loved the world, that He gave His only-begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.” John 3:16. It testifies to the universe that God will never
forsake His people in their struggle with evil. It is an assurance to us of
strength and protection as long as the throne itself shall last. DA 493.2

“Christ did not yield up His life till He had accomplished the work
which He came to do, and with His parting breath He exclaimed, “It is
finished.” John 19:30. The battle had been won. His right hand and His
holy arm had gotten Him the victory. As a Conqueror He planted His
banner on the eternal heights. Was there not joy among the angels? All
heaven triumphed in the Saviour’s victory. Satan was defeated, and
knew that his kingdom was lost.” DA 758.1

“To the angels and the unfallen worlds the cry, “It is finished, ” had a
deep significance. It was for them as well as for us that the great work
of redemption had been accomplished. They with us share the fruits of
Christ’s victory”. DA 758.2

CHAPTER SIX

The Number 8 And

888 Part 2

Revelation 15: 2 describes the fourfold victory of the end-time remnant.

We are still focusing on victory over the number 666. In order to count and
overcome 666, we must understand 8 and 888.

Remember 8 is the number of God’s ownership, the number of New Covenant

victory over self. The number of a new beginning, a new creation in Christ. The
Name of Jesus in the Greek is IESOUS and carries the number 888, eternal
victory. This victory is ours in Christ! And enables the born again believer,
by the Holy Spirit, to employ Christ’s victory to overcome every dimension of
selfishness and sin and to grow to Christian character perfection. Revelation
3:21; Revelation 12: 10, 11; 2 Cor.2:14. Gal.2:20.

Counting the Number of the Process of Victory for the Name of Jesus in
Phil.2:5-9

Verse 6: One> “Who being in the form of God”; Two> “thought it not robbery
to be equal with God”

Verse 7: Three> “but emptied Himself”; Four> “took upon Him the form of a
servant; Five> “…and was made in the likeness of men”

The Numbers 8 and 888 Part 2 | 21

Verse 8: Six> “He humbled Himself; Seven> “and became obedient unto
death, even the death of the Cross.”

Verse 9: Eight > “ Wherefore God hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a
NAME which is above every name.”{ = eternal victory 888}

This is the Name and Number we must have in the character of Christ fully
reproduced in us to be victorious over the name and number of the Beast
and its Image.

COUNTING STEPS AND TABLES IN EZEKIEL 40

The Prophet Ezekiel was given a mysterious vision, of a glorious temple, written
down in Ezekiel 40. This chapter contains mysterious systems of numbers
(inviting us to count). Ezekiel 40:3 reveals the Messenger who spoke to the
prophet, comparison with Rev. 1:15, would indicate that this was the Son of
God, Palmoni.

Verse 6 describes the east gate. Verse 17(KJV) introduces the outward court,
verse 20 mentions the north gate of the outward court (verses 19 to 21, describe
the relevant measurements), verse 22 states that 7 steps led up to this north
gate. Verse 24 introduces the south gate of the outward court, (verse 25 describes
its measurements), verse 26 states that 7 steps led up to this south gate. But
since there are three gates (east, north and south), we have in this Ezekiel 40
vision 3 gates with 7 steps each for the outward court: three sevens 777.The
outer court was where the sacrifices were made representing Christ’s sacrifice
and in the Greek the cross, stauros, has a Numerical value of 777. Rev.5:12.

Let us move on now to the inner court (containing the Holy and Most Holy
apartments) which is introduced in verse 27. The south gate to the inner court
is mentioned in verse 28 (verse 29, 30 state its measurements). Then in verse
31 we are told that going up to the inner court by the south gate had 8 steps.
Verse 32 introduces the east gate to the inner court, (verse 33 gives the relevant
measurements), then verse 34 informs us that going up to the inner court by
the east gate had 8 steps. Verse 35 introduces the north gate to the inner court
and after the description of measurements in verse 36, verse 37 informs us that

22 | Chapter 6
the going up to the inner court by the north gate had 8 steps. So we have 3
gates with 8 steps each for the inner court. Three eights! 888. The Name of
Jesus, Iesous = 888.

In the Outer Court at the inner north gate, verse 41, there were 4 tables on one
side and four tables on the other = 8 in all, where they slew the sacrifices. Christ’s
Sacrifice was a perfect and victorious (number 8) sacrificial atonement for all
mankind.

SIX GATES

There were 6 gates; 3 for the outer court, 3 for the inner court. Six is the
biological number of mankind and the theological number of self. The Six gates
indicate that sinful men and women can come to Jesus, sinful as they are, and
receive the free gift of salvation but they will only accept if they yield to the
convincing, convicting wooing of the Holy Spirit indicated by the number 3.

Six gates; three to enter into the outer court with seven steps to accept
Christ’s sacrifice, to be justified by faith and to be born again and to begin
to climb up to perfection; and 3 to enter into the inner court with eight steps
indicating the work of our High Priest to perfect the end-time remnant!

Here again we see the character transformation: 6 to 8 via 7. Victory over self
by the cross of Christ for perfection of character. The only deliverance from
666 is by 777 to reach 888! Gal.2: 20.

Right here in Ezekiel’s vision in chapter 40, we see The Wonderful Numberer
speaking to us in the numbers: 3, 6, 7, 8(and also the number 5 and its
multiples which will be a future study)

Peter’s Ladder: 8 Steps to Perfection: Complete in Christ= 888. 2 Peter 1: 4

“These words are full of instruction, and strike the key-note of

victory. The apostle presents before the believers the ladder of Christian
perfection, every step of which represents continual advancement in
the knowledge of God, and in the climbing of which there is to be

no standstill. Faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness,
brotherly kindness, and Agape love are the rounds of the ladder. We
are saved by climbing round after round, mounting step after step, to
the height of Christ’s ideal for us. Thus he is made unto us wisdom,
and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.“God has called
his people to glory and virtue, and these will be manifest in the lives
of all who are truly connected with him. Having become partakers of
the heavenly gift, they are to go on to perfection, being ‘kept by the
power of God through faith.’ It is the glory of God to give his virtue to
his children. He desires to see men and women reaching the highest
standard; and when by faith they lay hold of the power of Christ, when
they plead his unfailing promises, and claim them as their own, when with
an importunity that will not be denied they seek for the power of the
Holy Spirit, they will be made complete in him.” RH September 19, 1912

CHAPTER SEVEN

COUNTING THE
VICTORY OVER THE
NUMBER 666

We have done a preliminary analysis of the number 666. This is the number
of Satan’s self-exaltation fully developed in mankind in the end-time.We have
also studied the numbers 7, 8 and 888. Iesous in the Greek has the numerical
value 888, which is the number of His Name and represents His victory over
Satan, sin and the destructive Satanic principle of selfishness.

Christ’s victory is a free gift to be received by being in Him byfaith. Genuine

faith, working by Love produces repentance, surrender, the New birth and
spiritual growth. But remember it is all in Christ!

GOD WORKS IN AND THE BELIEVER WORKS OUT.

In Philippians 2: 12, 13, we are told to:

“……work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God that
worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure”.

And in John 16: 7 to 15 Jesus explains that the Holy Spirit brings into us all
that Christ has accomplished for us.Read John 16: 14, 15. So it is the Holy
Spirit Who works in, Who imparts the victorious character of Christ into the
believer. Read also Romans 5: 1 – 5 and Romans 8: 2 and 9– 15.

Counting the Victory Over the Number 666 | 25

We shall learn that the working in of the Holy Spirit is represented by the
number 9 while our working out our salvation in spiritual growth to perfection
is represented by the number8. First let us count the nine of the working in.

NINE SPIRITUAL GIFTS

In 1 Corinthians 12: 1 to 6 the Apostle Paul gives an introduction to, and a

foundation of, the doctrine of Spiritual Gifts. In verse 7 the Apostle states that
“to each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good” ESV.Then
in verses 8 to 10 Paul lists the gifts of the Spirit. Let us count them(KJV): (1)
the word of wisdom; (2) the word of knowledge; (3) faith; (4) gifts of healing;
(5) working of miracles;(6) prophecy; (7) discerning of spirits;(8) divers kinds of
tongues; (9) interpretation of tongues.

All 9gifts “worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to everyman
severally as he will”. 1Cor 12: 11.The Holy Spirit imparts the gifts, each
individual has the responsibility to recognize his/ her gift or gifts and use the gift
or gifts for the advancement of God’s kingdom, to the glory of God.

THE PARABLE OF THE TALENTS

Read Matthew 25: 14 to 30. Here we read of 3 sets of talents: five; two; one.
(5+2+1=8). The man who received 5 traded them and made from them five
more. The man who received 2, traded them and made 2 more. The man who
received 1 talent could have traded that one and could have made 1 more,
had he done that, the original 8 talents would have been doubled making
two eights. And one more cycle of trading would have produced another 8,
making three eights in all (888= victory!) But the one-talent man refused to
trade his talent and made nothing. The reason for his refusal to trade is plainly
stated to be his having a wrong understanding of his Master’s character. As
a result, as a member of the three- man team, he delayed the achievement of
ultimate success.

“To every man is committed individual gifts, termed talents. Some

regard these talents as being limited to certain men who possess

26 | Chapter 7
superior mental endowments and genius. But God has not restricted
the bestowal of His talents to a favored few. To every one is committed
some special endowment, for which he will be held responsible by
the Lord. Time, reason, means, strength, mental powers, tenderness of
heart—all are gifts from God, entrusted to be used in the great work of
blessing humanity. 5BC 1100.1

“Some apparently have but few talents, but by diligent trading on their
Lord’s goods their endowments will be greatly increased.... 5BC 1100.2

“The Lord is watching every one to see whether he will use his talents
wisely and unselfishly, or whether he will seek his own advancement. The
talents are distributed to every man according to his several ability,
that he may add to them by wise investment. Each one must give an
account to the Master for his own actions. 5BC 1100.3

“The Lord will not require from those who are poor that which they
have not to give; He will not require from the sick the active energies
which bodily weakness forbids. No one need mourn because he cannot
glorify God with talents that were never entrusted to Him. But if you
have only one talent, use it well, and it will accumulate. If the talents
are not buried, they will gain yet other talents.” 5BC 1100.4

NINE COMPONENTS OF THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

Galatians 5: 22, 23 KJV: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-
suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such
there is no law”

The Holy Spirit imparts the 9 gifts and the 9 components of the fruit of the
Spirit.

The number 9 is three sets of 3 three: (3×3=9).In order to understand the

meaning and significance of the number 9 we need to learn the meaning of
the number 3.

Counting the Victory Over the Number 666 | 27

THE NUMBER 3
The number 3 is the number of Persons in the Godhead; the Holy Spirit being
the third Person in the Godhead. Matthew 28: 19.

There were 3 divisions in the earthly Sanctuary and there are 3 of the Heavenly
Sanctuary (the outer court, the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place, see Exodus
chapters 25 to 27; Hebrews 9). And there are 3 components of the human body
temple. 1 Thessalonians 5: 23.

The resurrection of Christ occurred on the third day. 1 Corinthians 15: 1- 4.

Jesus likened the kingdom of Heaven to leaven which a woman took and hid in
3 measures of meal until it was all leavened. Matthew 13: 33.

In the story of Gideon and the Midianites (in Judges chapters 6 and 7) God
selected 300 men from Gideon’s original 32, 000. Then the 300 men were
divided into 3 companies and each man was given 3 things: (i) a trumpet, (ii)
an empty pitcher and (iii) a torch inside the pitcher. A resounding victory was
accomplished.

Three times Jesus asked Peter if he loved Him. John 21: 15 to 17.

Paul in 1Corinthians 13: 13 says “ And now these three remain: faith, hope,
and love. But the greatest of these is Love” (NIV).

Consider also the 3 Angels’ Messages of Revelation 14: 6- 12; the 3 woes of
Revelation 8: 13; three Holies (Holy, Holy, Holy) in Isaiah 6: 3; three Patriarchs
in Matthew 22: 32; Daniel prayed 3 times a day(Daniel 6: 10)

In Exodus 19: 10, 11 God told Moses to tell the people to be ready by the third
day because He would come down to give the Law.

In Hosea 6: 2, after 2 days, in the third day God raises up His people to live in
His sight! And in Matthew 22, after 2 calls, the King accomplished his purpose
in the third call!

The number 3 represents the accomplishment of the Divine Will by Divine

Decisive Action.

28 | Chapter 7
THE HOLY SPIRIT ACCOMPLISHES GOD’S WILL IN OUR LIVES

Nine gifts, nine components of the fruit of the Spirit. 9 = 3 × 3. The Holy
Spirit accomplishes the Divine Will in the lives of believers and sanctifies
and perfects the character of the believer in Christ (32=9)!

The number 9 occurs 49 times in the Bible (7× 7= 49). In the Hebrew the
numerical value of the word Amen is 99: so let it be!

The Holy Spirit imputes and imparts Christ’s righteousness and victory in the
believer’s spirit, soul, and body. 2 Cor.13: 14; John 14: 26; Phil.2: 1 – 2; Romans
8: 9– 17.

“In describing to His disciples the office work of the Holy Spirit, Jesus
sought to inspire them with the joy and hope that inspired His own
heart. He rejoiced because of the abundant help He had provided
for His church. The Holy Spirit was the highest of all gifts that He
could solicit from His Father for the exaltation of His people. The
Spirit was to be given as a regenerating agent, and without this
the sacrifice of Christ would have been of no avail. The power of
evil had been strengthening for centuries, and the submission of
men to this satanic captivity was amazing. Sin could be resisted
and overcome only through the mighty agency of the Third Person
of the Godhead, who would come with no modified energy, but
in the fullness of divine power. It is the Spirit that makes effectual
what has been wrought out by the world’s Redeemer. It is by the
Spirit that the heart is made pure. Through the Spirit the believer
becomes a partaker of the divine nature. Christ has given His
Spirit as a divine power to overcome all hereditary and cultivated
tendencies to evil, and to impress His own character upon His
church. DA 671.2

“Of the Spirit Jesus said, “He shall glorify Me.” The Saviour came to
glorify the Father by the demonstration of His love; so the Spirit was

Counting the Victory Over the Number 666 | 29

to glorify Christ by revealing His grace to the world. The very image of
God is to be reproduced in humanity. The honor of God, the honor of
Christ, is involved in the perfection of the character of His people. DA 671.3

“When He [the Spirit of truth] is come, He will reprove the world

of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.” The preaching of the
word will be of no avail without the continual presence and aid of the
Holy Spirit. This is the only effectual teacher of divine truth. Only when
the truth is accompanied to the heart by the Spirit will it quicken the
conscience or transform the life. One might be able to present the
letter of the word of God, he might be familiar with all its commands
and promises; but unless the Holy Spirit sets home the truth, no souls
will fall on the Rock and be broken. No amount of education, no
advantages, however great, can make one a channel of light without
the co-operation of the Spirit of God. The sowing of the gospel seed
will not be a success unless the seed is quickened into life by the dew
of heaven. Before one book of the New Testament was written, before
one gospel sermon had been preached after Christ’s ascension, the
Holy Spirit came upon the praying apostles. Then the testimony of
their enemies was, “Ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine.” Acts
5:28. DA 671.4

“Christ has promised the gift of the Holy Spirit to His church, and the
promise belongs to us as much as to the first disciples. But like every
other promise, it is given on conditions. There are many who believe and
profess to claim the Lord’s promise; they talk about Christ and about the
Holy Spirit, yet receive no benefit. They do not surrender the soul to
be guided and controlled by the divine agencies. We cannot use the
Holy Spirit. The Spirit is to use us. Through the Spirit God works in His
people “to will and to do of His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13. But
many will not submit to this. They want to manage themselves. This
is why they do not receive the heavenly gift. Only to those who wait

30 | Chapter 7
humbly upon God, who watch for His guidance and grace, is the
Spirit given. The power of God awaits their demand and reception. This
promised blessing, claimed by faith, brings all other blessings in its
train. “ DA 672

“Christ rejoiced that He could do more for His followers than they could
ask or think. He spoke with assurance, knowing that an almighty decree
had been given before the world was made. He knew that truth,
armed with the omnipotence of the Holy Spirit, would conquer
in the contest with evil; and that the bloodstained banner would
wave triumphantly over His followers. He knew that the life of
His trusting disciples would be like His, a series of uninterrupted
victories, not seen to be such here, but recognized as such in the
great hereafter.” DA 679.2

CHAPTER EIGHT

WORKING OUT WHAT

GOD WORKS IN

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my

presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own
salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you
both to will and to do of His good pleasure” Philippians 2: 12, 13.

The Godhead, (all Three Persons) have already, completely and perfectly,
worked out the salvation of humanity in the incarnation, earthly life, sufferings,
death, resurrection, glorification and ascension of Christ. The faith of Jesus
working by Agape Love enabled Him to remain always perfectly surrendered
to His Father and to render perfect sinless obedience to God’s Law for us. He
accomplished this in our fallen flesh which He took on in the incarnation.
Moreover He carried the burden of our complete corporate guilt, and
suffered the separation from His Father (wrath) which our collective human
guilt had incurred. All our sins have already been ‘punished’ in Him. He,
therefore, has fully satisfied Divine justice for all mankind. The Law of God
demands life-long perfect sinless obedience of faith working by love. Only
Christ has satisfied that demand and He has satisfied it for all mankind
as our Substitute and Surety. In addition, the transgression of God’s law

32 | Chapter 8
(sin) incurred wrath, that is, sin separates from God: God has to withdraw
and give up sin and sinners to their own way. Christ as our Substitute and
Surety suffered that ‘punishment’ for all human sin of all time for us. This
is the only ground of our acceptance by God. Christ is our Righteousness.
When the Holy Spirit opens our eyes of faith to see such infinite love and
we, in repentance and surrender, accept Christ as our personal Saviour, His
Righteousness is imputed to us as a free gift, we are justified by faith and
experience the new birth. And so long as we abide in Christ we are complete
in Him, while the Holy Spirit imparts His righteousness into our spirit and
soul saving us from disobedience and saving us to love-motivated obedience
of God’s law of Love expressed in the Ten Commandments. This gift of
righteousness gives us victory over sin and restores in us God’s Sabbath Rest.
Isaiah 53: 6; 2 Cor. 5:18-21; Romans3:23, 24; Romans 5:18; Titus 3:3-7;
Eph.2: 8 -10; Romans 5:1 -9; Hebrews 4: 1 -11.

Always remember that the sacrifice of Christ is the ultimate revelation of

God’s Spirit of Love, this is an all for the other unselfish self-sacrificing
unconditional Love. God loves us at any cost to Himself.

REMEMBER THE NUMBER 9

We have already learnt that the number 9 applies to what God, in Christ,
works in, by His Spirit. There are 9 spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12: 7 to 11.
And 9 components of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5: 22, 23.The number
nine ( 3×3) represents the accomplishment of the Divine Will, by the LOVE of
GOD in the Holy Spirit, in the believer who is abiding in Christ.

THE NUMBER 8 AND WORKING OUT WHAT GOD WORKS IN.

We must receive what God works in by faith, and only by faith can we work
out what God works in. This is true because both the working in and the
working out are by the word of God and faith is believing the word of God and
depending on the word of God to accomplish what it says!

Working Out What God Works In | 33

“Now faith is entire dependence on the word of God, that that
word shall accomplish what that word says. ‘It will accomplish that
which I please’ Isaiah 55: 11”. AT Jones RH March 7, 1899.

Putting On The Whole Armour of God. Ephesians 6: 10 to 18

Let us count the components of the armour: Verse 14: 1. Loins girt about with
(belt) truth; 2.Breastplate of righteousness; Verse 15:3. Feet shod with (shoes)
the preparation of the gospel of peace;Verse16: 4.Shield of faith; Verse17:
5.Helmet of salvation; 6. Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; Verse
18: 7. Prayer (praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit);
8.Watching (and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication
for all saints).

PRAYER AND WATCHING OFTEN NOT COUNTED

In counting the components of the armour, some Bible students stop at 6,

others count 7, only a few count 8 by including watching. So let us check out
the importance of watching by reading and analyzing some texts of scripture:
Proverbs 4: 23; Matthew 25: 13; Matt. 26:41; Mark 13: 37; 1Cor. 16: 13; 1Thess.
5: 6; 1 Timothy 4: 16; 1Peter5: 8; Rev. 3: 2; Rev.16: 15.

The first six components of the armour cannot function effectively or efficiently
without prayer and watching which are the last two components. So there are
8 components of the amour of God in Ephesians 6. Prayer and watching are
absolutely essential to the abiding relationship in Christ.

Summarizing Three Important Dimensions of Watching

1. Attentiveness

Paying attention to our own hearts/ souls as to how we receive the truth
of God in His word and how we are growing in the intellectual and
experiential knowledge of God. Luke 8: 15-18. Keeping our focus
on Jesus, seeking the daily conversion and daily receiving of the Holy
Spirit thereby experiencing daily victory over lukewarmness and sin.

34 | Chapter 8
2. Diligence in Vigilance

Watching, under the Spirit’s guidance against temptation. Matthew

26: 41; Proverbs 4: 23-25.

3. Expectancy

“Looking for and hasting unto the Coming of the Lord”2 Peter 3: 12
(KJV). “Waiting for and hastening the coming the coming of the day
of God…” (ESV). We are to especially pray and watch in the second
and third watches, and hasten the second coming of Jesus. Luke 12:
35- 40.

The Victory ‘Number’ of Being Emptied of Self. Galatians 2:20

We explained already that the Cross (777) of Christ crucifies the “I” or self (6),
and the Holy Spirit reproduces Christ’s victory (888) in us as we abide in
Christ. (If the 6 of self is not crucified it will be enveloped in the end time
666 of the Mark of the Beast)

“ I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth
in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of
God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” Galatians 2:20.

When we check the number of times the personal ‘I’ and ‘me’ occur in Galatians
2:20, we count 5 “I’s” and 3 “ me’s” = 8! This text, then, counts the number
of the victory over self when the believer is in Christ! And it is the number 8!

THE SPIRITUAL UNIFORM

In Ephesians Paul itemized the components of the whole armour of God and
we counted 8 components. In Colossians 3 Paul itemized the components of
the ‘spiritual uniform’ which the believer in Christ must put on.

Let us read Colossians 3:12 to 14 (KJV) and learn what the believer in Christ
must put on. 1. Bowels of mercies; 2.Kindness; 3.Humbleness of mind;
4.Meekness 5.Longsuffering; 6.Forbearance;7.Forgiveness; 8.Love, which is

Working Out What God Works In | 35

the bond of perfectness. (Remember Ephesians 4:3 and also Phil.2).

So there are 8 components in the spiritual uniform that we are to put on even
as we have put on and carry the 8 components of the armour of God and climb
to victory on the 8 rungs or steps of Peter’s ladder in 2 Peter 1: 5 to 7.

These three eights (3 × 8) = 24! The two nines (2×9) = 18. Adding 24 + 18 =
42. And 42 = 3 ×14. We, shall learn later on that 14 is the number of redemption.
We have many numbers to understand and the Wonderful Numberer, Palmoni
(Daniel 8:13), must teach us through His Spirit because….”truths essential
for us to know lie too deeply buried to be understood by unaided human
reason” 13 MR 243.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe

yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and
patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of
you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave
you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all
together in perfect unity. Colossians 3: 12 to 14 (NIV)

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith
virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control
perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness,
and to brotherly kindness love. 2 Peter 1: 5 to 7 (NKJV)

CHAPTER NINE

TWELVE: THE
KINGDOM- SUBJECT
NUMBER

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth,
as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6: 9, 10.

“Jesus answered and said unto him (Nicodemus), Verily, verily, I say unto
thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God”
John 3:3.

Born- again believers are subjects of the Kingdom of Grace(Hebrews 4: 16)

being prepared for the Kingdom of Glory (Matthew 25: 31).

Scriptural Evidences For Twelve Being The Kingdom – Subject Number

1. There were 12 tribes of ancient Israel.(Genesis 49:28)

2. Jesus had 12 disciples. (Mark 3: 14; Matthew 10: 1- 7)

3. In John’s vision of the New Jerusalem we note the following facts: (a)
There are 12 gates, with 12 angels and the names written are of the 12
tribes of the children of Israel; (Rev.21: 12); (b) In the12 foundations

Twelve: the Kingdom- Subject Number | 37

are the names written of the 12 Apostles of the Lamb. (Rev.21:14); the
foundations of the Holy City are garnished with 12 precious stones.
(Rev.21: 19, 20); (c) The Tree of Life was seen by John bearing 12
manner of fruits.(Rev.22:2).

4. “James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve
tribes which are scattered abroad…..” James 1:1.

True Christians are God’s true Israel; God’s true Israel today is the
body of Christ. See Matthew 21:42, 43; 1Peter 2: 7-10; Galatians 3:
26- 29; Romans 10: 12, 13; Romans2: 28, 29; Ephesians 5.

Kingdom Citizens

Citizenship in God’s Kingdom is by being born again(the New

Birth)into the Kingdom of Grace to be prepared for citizenship in
the Kingdom of Glory. After being saved in the Kingdom of Grace
believers will enter the Kingdom of Glory through glorification by
the first resurrection or by translation at the Second Coming of
Christ.1Thessalonians 4: 14 –18; 1Corinthians 15: 50-58;Philippians
3: 20, 21; Romans 8: 16 – 23; Hebrews 9: 28; Rev.20:4 – 6; (Remember
that some believers in ancient times were resurrected, glorified and
taken to Heaven; and two were translated: Enoch before the Flood
and Elijah before the first Advent of the Messiah.)

THE NEW BIRTH: ESSENTIAL.

Entrance into the Kingdom of Grace is by initial conversion (initially being born
again) and spiritual growth in the Kingdom of Grace is by daily conversions,
the daily dying to self, this can only be accomplished by abiding in Jesus. Luke
9:23; 1Corinthians 15: 31; 2Cor.4: 10, 11; John 15: 1–11.

The End-time Remnant

The end-time remnant church (body of believers) will grow from blade to ear
and be will ripened to full grain in the ear, (Mark 4: 26- 29)and be sealed,
(Rev.7:3) meaning that by free choice they will fix their minds in righteousness

38 | Chapter 9
against sin, then after the closure of probation they will be further ripened
to harvest ready Christian character maturity by the unimaginably severe
intensity of the time of Jacob’s Trouble, and will be translated (glorification)
at the Second Coming of Christ!

THE SQUARE OF TWELVE

The perfect square of 12 =144; and this is the key numerical component of
the number given to the sealed end-time remnant, 144, 000! The square of
twelve is indicative of the mature, perfect, symmetrical character of Christ
fully reflected in and through them. The square of 12(144)is again mentioned
in Rev.21:17 as the thickness of the wall of the New Jerusalem indicating that
His wife would have made herself ready.Rev.19: 6-8.

The number of the sealed end-time remnant is 144, 000. A thousand is

10×10×10. This points us to the number 10.

THE NUMBER TEN

In scripture ten is used as a general number of a congregation or cycle or

collection. The original meaning of the Hebrew root was gathering, collection
or union or general group. We can read and see this use of 10 in these
scriptures:1Sam.1: 8; Ecclesiastes 7: 19; Isaiah 5: 10; Zechariah 8: 23; Ruth 4:2;
Matthew 25:1;Luke19: 12, 13, 17.

Jesus clearly showed the meaning of the numbers10 and 5 in the parable of the
ten virgins Matthew 25, five of whom were wise, and five were unwise.

Out of the general 10 came the wise 5.

THE NUMBER 5

This is the number of grace. The Hebrew word for 5 is chamesh/ chameeshah
and in the Torah it means grace, ministry, fruitfulness. The Holy anointing oil
had five ingredients: four spices (myrrh, cinnamon, calamus, cassia) and olive
oil. Exodus 30: 22- 25. Compare with Hebrews 1: 8, 9.

Twelve: the Kingdom- Subject Number | 39

In Matthew 14: 16- 21, five loaves fed five thousand, and twelve baskets were left
over.In Matthew 25: 1- 13, the five wise virgins came out of the general 10. The
five wise are saved and transformed and perfected by God’s grace in the Holy
Spirit represented by the oil in the vessels with the lamps. Matthew 25:4. This
means that the oil of grace in the Holy Spirit, as we said before, prepares the 5
wise virgins for the Kingdom of Glory, grace symbolized by the number 5 is
absolutely essential for justification, sanctification and glorification in God’s
Kingdom symbolized by the number 12.

THE 144, 000= 12×12×10×10×10.

We have already analyzed 144 as 12 2. Now let us analyze 10 3. The Revelation
18: 1- 4 final warning will call all God’s end-time remnant people (the end-time
5 wise virgins) out of the general body of professed believers(represented by the
number 10) who will end up as the end-time 5 foolish virgins. The 10 is raised
to the power 3 because the Revelation 18 loud cry will be accomplished by the
Divine Decisive Action (number 3) through the latter rain of the Holy Spirit.

“The two classes of watchers represent the two classes who profess
to be waiting for their Lord. They are called virgins because they
profess a pure faith. By the lamps is represented the word of God. The
psalmist says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto may
path.” Psalm 119:105. The oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. COL 406.3

“The indwelling of the Spirit will be shown by the outflowing of heavenly

love. The divine fullness will flow through the consecrated human agent,
to be given forth to others. COL 419.4

“Without the Spirit of God a knowledge of His word is of no avail. The

theory of truth, unaccompanied by the Holy Spirit, cannot quicken the
soul or sanctify the heart. One may be familiar with the commands and
promises of the Bible; but unless the Spirit of God sets the truth home,
the character will not be transformed. Without the enlightenment of the
Spirit, men will not be able to distinguish truth from error, and they will
fall under the masterful temptations of Satan. COL 408.3

40 | Chapter 9
“The Spirit works upon man’s heart, according to his desire and consent
implanting in him a new nature; but the class represented by the
foolish virgins have been content with a superficial work. They do not
know God. They have not studied His character; they have not held
communion with Him; therefore they do not know how to trust, how
to look and live. Their service to God degenerates into a form. COL 411

“The ten virgins are watching in the evening of this earth’s history. All
claim to be Christians. All have a call, a name, a lamp, and all profess to
be doing God’s service. All apparently wait for Christ’s appearing. But
five are unready. Five will be found surprised, dismayed, outside the
banquet hall”. COL 412.2

THE FIVE WISE VIRGINS REVEAL GOD’S CHARACTER

“It is the darkness of misapprehension of God that is enshrouding the

world. Men are losing their knowledge of His character. It has been
misunderstood and misinterpreted. At this time a message from God is
to be proclaimed, a message illuminating in its influence and saving in
its power. His character is to be made known. Into the darkness of the
world is to be shed the light of His glory, the light of His goodness,
mercy, and truth.” COL415.3

CHAPTER TEN

COUNTING 12, 13, 14

In Genesis 14 there is an intriguing account of a battle of 4 kings with 5 kings

(Genesis 14: 1-3).Then in verse 4 and verse 5 we are told that the 5 kings in
verse 2 had served Chedorlaomer(the chief king in verse 1) for twelve years
and rebelled in the thirteenth year, and in the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer
came to get them back under his kingdom. Here we see 12 as the kingdom
subject number, thirteen as the number of rebellion and 14 as the number
of reclaiming or redemption. We have already studied the number 12, the
kingdom subject number.

Bible Evidence: The Number 13, The Number of Rebellion.

1. In the book of Revelation the word dragon, the symbol for Satan, is
mentioned 13 times. Revelation 12: 3, 4, twice in 7, 9, 13, 16, 17;
Revelation 13: 2, 4, 11; Revelation 16: 13; Revelation 20:2.

2. In Daniel 2, the Word ‘King’ when applied definitely to Nebuchadnezzar,

King of Babylon, is used 39 times (3 × 13). In that chapter King
Nebuchadnezzar represented the concentration of rebellion against
God by Satan through Babylon. (Isaiah13: 19; 14: 4; 47:5).

42 | Chapter 10
3. The word Megiddo or its equivalent is mentioned 13 times in the
whole Bible and the thirteenth time is in Revelation 16:16 where
is described the battle of the great day of God Almighty against the
world’s final rebellion in the image and mark of the beast global
confederacy. (Joshua: 12:21; Judges 1: 27; Judges 5:19; 1 Kings 4:12;
1 Kings 9: 15; 2 Kings 9: 27; 2 Kings 23:29, 30; 1Chronicles 7:29; 2
Chronicles 35:22; Zechariah 12:11; Revelation 16:16).

4. The name Nimrod means rebellious. From the time Nimrod, the
rebellious one founded Babylon(Genesis 10:8 – 10), we can trace
Babylon in the scriptures as the Kingdom of rebellion until she comes
to her end in the battle of Armageddon (Revelation 16:16) which
is the thirteenth time Megiddo, meaning mountain of slaughter, is
mentioned in scripture.

5. Ishmael was 13 years old when he was circumcised, Isaac was 8 days
old when he was circumcised. Ishmael was born after the flesh, Old
Covenant. Isaac was born by the promise of the New Covenant.

THE NUMBER 14

Fourteen is 2×7 and as such the number 14 partakes of the importance of 7,

and being double 7 implies a double measure of perfection.

The Gospel of Matthew, in the first chapter, informs us that there were 3 sets of
14 generations from Abraham to Christ.

“So all the generations from Abraham to David are Fourteen

generations, from David until the captivity in Babylon are Fourteen
generations, and from the captivity in Babylon until the Christ are
Fourteen generations” Matthew1: 17.

Counting 12, 13, 14 | 43

FOURTEEN AND DELIVERANCE: BIBLE EVIDENCES

6. The fourteenth day of the first month was the Passover when God
delivered the firstborn of Israel from death. And some 430 years earlier
also on Nisan 14, God hadconfirmed His covenant with Abraham,
Exodus 12:6; Genesis 15.

7. In Esther 9:15-26, the Day of Purim was the 14thday of the month,
Adar, when the Jews were allowed to defend themselves against
Haman’s plot, this started a new freedom for them.

8. In Genesis 8: 9-12, Noah sent out the dove twice and waited a total
of 14 days indicating that the land had dried and was ready for a new
start.

9. In Genesis 14, in the 14thyear when Chedorlaomer reclaimed the

rebellious kingdoms, Abraham rescued Lot and met Melchisedek on
the return from the rescue.

10. In Ezekiel 40; 14 years after Jerusalem was destroyed Ezekiel had the
vision of the New Temple.

11. In 1 Kings 8: 65 Solomon and the people had 14 days of celebration

for the new temple

12. In Genesis 31: 41, Jacob worked 14 years for his wives and then started
working for his family.

13. Acts 27: 27-36 informs us that it was on the 14th day after being in the
storm when Paul got the crew to eat.

14. Remember too the 70 year captivity at the end of which the Jews,
having learnt the lesson God intended, were to return and rebuild
Jerusalem. 70= 14×5. The 70 year captivity was to be redemptive
(number 14) by God’s grace (number 5)

44 | Chapter 10
Before sin there was perfect happiness in God’s Kingdom (symbolized by
number 12). Then the Satanic rebellion (symbolized by number 13) occurred
and sin and woe entered the universe and became centered on planet Earth.
However, the plan of Redemption (symbolized by number 14) made a way for
Earth’s rebels to be reinstated into the Kingdom of God again.

So we see that 12 was attacked by 13, but 14 rescues believing rebels and
reinstates them into 12. In the end 12 will have been vindicated through 14.
The thirteen of rebellion will be totally vanquished by eternal unconditional
Agape Love which is the eternal foundation of God’s Kingdom.

The Glory of The Gospel/Redemption (James 1:17; 1John 4: 8 – 21)

“It is the glory of the gospel that it is founded upon the principle of
restoring in the fallen race the divine image by a constant manifestation
of benevolence. This work began in the heavenly courts. There God
decided to give human beings unmistakable evidence of the love with
which He regarded them. He “so loved the world, that He gave His
only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. CH 222.1

“The Godhead was stirred with pity for the race, and the Father,
the Son, and the Holy Spirit gave Themselves to the working out
of the plan of redemption. In order fully to carry out this plan, it
was decided that Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, should
give Himself an offering for sin. What line can measure the depth
of this love? God would make it impossible for man to say that
He could have done more. With Christ He gave all the resources
of heaven, that nothing might be wanting in the plan for man’s
uplifting. Here is love—the contemplation of which should fill the
soul with inexpressible gratitude! Oh, what love, what matchless
love! The contemplation of this love will cleanse the soul from all
selfishness. It will lead the disciple to deny self, take up the cross,
and follow the Redeemer”. CH.222.2

CHAPTER ELEVEN

HIS NAME AND HIS

FATHER’S NAME
WRITTEN IN THEIR
FOREHEADS

THE NAME OF GOD

Then I looked, and behold, on Mount Zion stood the Lamb, and with
him 144, 000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their
foreheads. Rev.14:1 ESV

Of all the names of God mentioned in the Hebrew scriptures none, is more
striking than the very special name YAHWEH.

By comparing Exodus 3: 13 – 15 with Exodus 6: 2, 3 we understand that God’s

special name YAHWEH means I AM THAT I AM. This special name signifies
the absolute eternity of God.

For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity,
whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with
him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly,
and to revive the heart of the contrite. Isaiah 57: 15 ESV

46 | Chapter 11
The Hebrew word translated eternity in this text is‫(דע‬ad) which means perpetual
continuation, timelessness. The Divine Nature is infinite in Power, Wisdom, and
Love and is changeless and timeless. The special Name YAHWEH or Jehovah
signifies the Absoluteness, the Eternity, the Omnipotence and the Infinity of the
only true and living God. (Isaiah 40: 12-31; 43: 10 -13; 45:5, 6; 46: 1- 10).

The Name and the Infinite Power, InfiniteWisdom, and Infinite Love, of God
have been firstly revealed in the creation of the Universe. The Father created
all creation by His eternal only begotten Son(John 1: 1- 3; 1Cor.8:6; Col.1: 16;
Hebrews1: 1, 2). After the creation of our planet and solar system in 6 days, God
made the Seventh-day Sabbath as the immutable memorial of His infinite
creative Power, Wisdom and Love Genesis 2: 1- 3.The principle of God’s Rest
is grounded in the eternal Principle of unselfish, self- sacrificing Agape Love
by which God’s Infinite Power functions through His Infinite Wisdom for the
eternal perfection, peace and restfulness of His creation! There can be no rest
without righteousness, and there can be no righteousness without unselfish
Agape Love. God does not, in fact, cannot vary in the slightest degree from
this absolute principle of His Character.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down
from the Father of Lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow
of turning” James 1: 17.

The Name and character of God, His infinite Power, Wisdom, and Love have
also, and even more amazingly, been revealed in the plan of Redemption in
which the Creation gift of Rest, lost from humanity because of sin, has been
fully restored in Christ by the Spirit of God. Hebrews 4:1- 4, 9, 10.

“It is the love of self that brings unrest. When we are born from
above, the same mind will be in us that was in Jesus, the mind that
led Him to humble Himself that we might be saved. Then we shall
not be seeking the highest place. We shall desire to sit at the feet of
Jesus, and learn of Him. We shall understand that the value of our
work does not consist in making a show and noise in the world, and in

His Name and His Father’s Name Written in Their Foreheads | 47

being active and zealous in our own strength. The value of our work
is in proportion to the impartation of the Holy Spirit. Trust in God
brings holier qualities of mind, so that in patience we may possess
our souls. DA 330.4

“The yoke is placed upon the oxen to aid them in drawing the load,
to lighten the burden. So with the yoke of Christ. When our will is
swallowed up in the will of God, and we use His gifts to bless others,
we shall find life’s burden light. He who walks in the way of God’s
commandments is walking in company with Christ, and in His love
the heart is at rest. When Moses prayed, ‘Show me now Thy way,
that I may know Thee, ’ the Lord answered him, “My presence shall
go with thee, and I will give thee rest.’” DA 330.5.

Both in Creation and Redemption, the Name of the Father and His Son is
inseparable from God’s Sabbath Rest and represents His Character of unselfish,
self- sacrificing Agape Love which is shed abroad in the hearts of His people
by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). In the end- time God’s Name, His Character
and His Seventh Day Sabbath Rest will be sealed into the foreheads (the spirit
of the mind) of the 144, 000 by the Holy Spirit.

EIGHT COMPOUND NAMES

In the Hebrew scriptures the Name YAHWEH is used in 8 special Compound

Titles. And remember that “The Name of the Lord is a strong Tower: the righteous
runneth into it, and is safe” Proverbs 18:10. Here now is the list of 8 compound
Names: (8 is the victory number)

1. Jehovah-Raah(Rohi): The Lord is my Shepherd. Psalm 23:1

2. Jehovah-Jireh: The Lord will provide. Genesis 22:14

3. Jehovah-Shalom: The Lord our Peace. Judges 6: 24

4. Jehovah-Rapha: Exodus 15:26, The Lord our Physician. Psalm 103:

8. Jehovah -Shammal: The Lord is There or The Lord is Present.

Ezekiel 48: 35

“From eternal ages it was God’s purpose that every created being,
from the bright and holy seraph to man, should be a temple for the
indwelling of the Creator. Because of sin, humanity ceased to be a
temple for God. Darkened and defiled by evil, the heart of man no
longer revealed the glory of the Divine One. But by the incarnation
of the Son of God, the purpose of Heaven is fulfilled. God dwells in
humanity, and through saving grace the heart of man becomes again
His temple. God designed that the temple at Jerusalem should be a
continual witness to the high destiny open to every soul. But the Jews
had not understood the significance of the building they regarded
with so much pride. They did not yield themselves as holy temples
for the Divine Spirit. The courts of the temple at Jerusalem, filled with
the tumult of unholy traffic, represented all too truly the temple of
the heart, defiled by the presence of sensual passion and unholy
thoughts. In cleansing the temple from the world’s buyers and sellers,
Jesus announced His mission to cleanse the heart from the defilement
of sin, —from the earthly desires, the selfish lusts, the evil habits, that
corrupt the soul. “The Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to
His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in:
behold, He shall come, saith the Lord of hosts. But who may abide the
day of His coming? and who shall stand when He appeareth? for He
is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: and He shall sit as a refiner
and purifier of silver: and He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge
them as gold and silver.” Malachi 3:1-3. DA 161.1

“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of
God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall
God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” 1
Corinthians 3:16, 17. No man can of himself cast out the evil throng that
have taken possession of the heart. Only Christ can cleanse the soul
temple. But He will not force an entrance. He comes not into the heart
as to the temple of old; but He says, “Behold, I stand at the door,
and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come
in to him.” Revelation 3:20. He will come, not for one day merely; for
He says, “I will dwell in them, and walk in them;... and they shall be My
people.” “He will subdue our iniquities; and Thou wilt cast all their sins
into the depths of the sea.” 2 Corinthians 6:16; Micah 7:19. His presence
will cleanse and sanctify the soul, so that it may be a holy temple unto
the Lord, and “an habitation of God through the Spirit.” Ephesians 2:21,
22. DA 161.2

“The Godhead was stirred with pity for the human race, and the Father,
the Son and the Holy Spirit gave themselves to the working out of the
plan of Salvation. In order to fully carry out this plan, it was decided that
Christ, the only begotten Son of God, should give Himself an offering
for sin. And in giving Christ, God gave all the resources of heaven, that
nothing might be wanting for the work of man’s uplifting. What line can
measure the depth of this love? God would make it impossible for man
to say that He could have done more” RH May 2, 1912.

“The salvation of the human race has ever been the object of the
councils of heaven. The covenant of mercy was made before the
foundation of the world. It has existed from all eternity, and is called
the everlasting covenant. So surely as there never was a time when
God was not, so surely was never a moment when it was not the

“The more we consider this subject, the greater depths we find, and

yet there are depths that we do not reach as we study the Redeemer’s
glory. It is the glory of the Prince of life, and the mightiest powers
of man cannot reach it. The angels themselves desire to look into
this mysterious and wonderful theme, the redemption of the human
race. OFC 68.2

CHAPTER TWELVE

666: Man’s Wrath

Contrasted With God’s
Wrath

“The carnal mind (the mind of self) is enmity against God: for it is not
subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” Romans 8: 7. KJV

This enmity will be fully ripened in those who reject God’s truth and His law
and accept the false worship of the image of the Beast and receive the mark of the
Beast in the soon coming final crisis. This fully ripened enmity is symbolized
by the number 666.

Inherent in this enmity and number 666 is the persecutory wrath of the dragon.

“And when the dragon saw that he was cast out unto the earth, he
persecuted the woman…” Rev12: 13

“And the dragon was wroth with the woman and went to make war with
the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have
the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Rev.12:17

“…..The dragon gave him (the beast) his power, and his seat, and great
authority.” Rev.13:2

52 | Chapter 12
The authority of the beast in the Middle Ages was manifested in the absolute
control the dominant Roman Church had over the consciences of people by
the enforcement of church doctrines through the civil governments of the
kingdom-nations of Europe. Anyone who had a disagreement with Papal dogma
was subject to civil penalties including the death penalty if he did not recant!
In fact, down through history, Satan has used the union of religion and civil
government (religion and the State) to persecute true religion. Pagan Rome
was Satan’s terrible persecutory engine against the early Christianity, but that
was superseded by the union of the Papacy with the European kingdoms (civil
governments) during the Dark Ages. Scripture had foretold the Papal persecutory
dominance of the Middle Ages in such passages as Daniel 7: 25; Revelation 12:
6, 13, 14; 13:1- 10; 2Thess 2.

The Protestant Reformation proclaimed the open Bible with scripture

interpreting scripture as the only basis of the true faith and showed, from
scripture, that the human conscience should not be compelled, by State or
Church, in matters of faith and worship. The Lutheran Reformation and the
Reformed Princes of Germany caused persecution to be almost wholly eased by
1773. Before that date, in 1620, English Puritan Protestants had sailed across
the Atlantic to establish a country without a king and a church without a pope.
These developments were summarized in Revelation 12:16.

These principles of Protestantism eventually became the foundation of the USA

Constitution.

Amendments to the Constitution, Article1 states: “ Congress shall make no law

respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press or the right of the people
peaceably to assemble and petition the government for a redress of grievances”

This separation of church and State, when fully implemented, guarantees

liberty of conscience in matters of faith, doctrine and worship; and is based
on the teaching of Jesus in Matthew 22: 15 to 22; and of the Apostle Paul in
Romans 13:1 to 10.

666: Man’s Wrath Contrasted With God’s Wrath | 53

The USA Constitution, guaranteeing liberty of conscience, with civil and
religious freedoms, was foretold in Revelation 13:11. But this same verse predicts
that the lamb- like Constitution will eventually be repudiated, producing
the dragon-like resurgence of religious intolerance and persecution through
church-state union in the USA and throughout Christendom. This is described
as the image and mark of the beast in Revelation 13: 11 to 18. The specific
doctrinal article of faith that will be attacked will be freedom of conscience to
keep the Seventh-day Sabbath instead of the Pagan-Papal Sunday. All will be
compelled to honor the Sunday and, as a result, seventh day sabbath keepers
will be brought under increasing persecutory pressure ending with the death
penalty. Revelation 13:15 to 17. That is how Revelation 12: 17 will be fulfilled.

Jesus made it clear that those professed religionists who deny others their God
given-right of liberty of conscience and who sentence them to death for their
faith, neither know the Father nor the Son. John 16: 1- 3.

It is not in the character of God to compel the conscience. Zechariah 4:6; John
18: 36; Rev.22: 17.

“The earth was dark through misapprehension of God. That the gloomy
shadows might be lightened, that the world might be brought back to
God, Satan’s deceptive power was to be broken. This could not be done
by force. The exercise of force is contrary to the principles of God’s
government; He desires only the service of love; and love cannot
be commanded; it cannot be won by force or authority. Only by
love is love awakened. To know God is to love Him; His character
must be manifested in contrast to the character of Satan. This work
only one Being in all the universe could do. Only He who knew the
height and depth of the love of God could make it known. Upon
the world’s dark night the Sun of Righteousness must rise, “with
healing in His wings.’ Malach 4:2” DA 22.

“God could have destroyed Satan and his sympathizers as easily as one
can cast a pebble to the earth; but He did not do this. Rebellion was

54 | Chapter 12
not to be overcome by force. Compelling power is found only under
Satan’s government. The Lord’s principles are not of this order. His
authority rests upon goodness, mercy, and love; and the presentation
of these principles is the means to be used. God’s government is moral,
and truth and love are to be the prevailing power.” DA 759.1

Since compelling power is found only under Satan’s government we must

conclude that man’s wrath and God’s Wrath are completely different, and this
is exactly what the Apostle James tells us.

“For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God” James 1: 20.

The wrath of the mind of self is the wrath of the enmity, and since the enmity is
not, and cannot be, subject to the law of God, the wrath of man worketh not the
righteousness of God. In direct contrast to this enmity is Agape Love.

“Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of

the law” Romans 13:10

God is Love. His moral Law is a transcript of His Character. Moreover He has
given His created beings genuine freedom of choice. 1John 4:8; 2 Corinthian 3:
17. The mechanism of God’s wrath is explained in scripture as God giving up
those whose minds are fixed in the rejection of His love, truth and righteousness.
Since the Holy Spirit cannot force Himself upon those who reject Him, He has
to withdraw and give them up to the way they have chosen, allowing them to
reap what they have sown. Study these texts carefully: Romans 1: 15 to 28
(note verses 18, 24, 26, 28); Hosea 4:17; Hosea 11: 7 to 9; Proverbs 11: 5, 6;
Ecclesiastes 10:8; Proverbs 8:35, 36; 1John 5: 11, 12; John 3: 36; James 1: 12
to 20; Galatians 6: 7, 8, 9, 10.

“God does not stand toward the sinner as an executioner of the

sentence against transgression; but He leaves the rejectors of His
mercy to themselves, to reap that which they have sown. Every ray
of light rejected, every warning despised or unheeded, every passion

666: Man’s Wrath Contrasted With God’s Wrath | 55

indulged, every transgression of the law of God, is a seed sown which
yields its unfailing harvest. The Spirit of God, persistently resisted, is
at last withdrawn from the sinner, and then there is left no power
to control the evil passions of the soul, and no protection from
the malice and enmity of Satan. The destruction of Jerusalem is a
fearful and solemn warning to all who are trifling with the offers
of divine grace and resisting the pleadings of divine mercy. Never
was there given a more decisive testimony to God’s hatred of sin
and to the certain punishment that will fall upon the guilty” G C 36.1

“The Jews had forged their own fetters; they had filled for themselves
the cup of vengeance. In the utter destruction that befell them as a
nation, and in all the woes that followed them in their dispersion, they
were but reaping the harvest which their own hands had sown. Says the
prophet: “O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself;” “for thou hast fallen by
thine iniquity.” Hosea 13:9; 14:1. Their sufferings are often represented
as a punishment visited upon them by the direct decree of God. It
is thus that the great deceiver seeks to conceal his own work. By
stubborn rejection of divine love and mercy, the Jews had caused
the protection of God to be withdrawn from them, and Satan was
permitted to rule them according to his will.” GC 35, 36.

Jesus, as our Substitute and Surety, suffered, for all mankind, the wrath which
our collective corporate human guilt had incurred. Isaiah 53:6; Romans 8:
32. Those who reject this great salvation will be condemned to the separation
from Christ, (the wrath of the Lamb, Rev.6:16) which will produce the second
death. John 12: 44 to 48; Revelation 2:11; 20: 6.

The Satan-inspired wrath of man is described in Revelation 13: 12 to 17. The

wrath of God is described in the Third Angel’s Message of Revelation 14: 9 to
11. We have clearly proven from the scripture that these two wraths are not in
anyway similar. In the giving of the final warning of the Third Angel’s Message,
Revelation 18: 1 to 4, the earth will be lightened with the glory of God’s

56 | Chapter 12
Character. The Loud Cry messengers will explain that the Image and Mark
of the Beast global political-religious-economic Confederacy will be a final
rejection of God, and that, therefore, God will withdraw His Spirit and give up
all those who accept the Mark of the Beast to reap what they have sown. The
four angels in Revelation 7: 1 to 3 will cease “to hold the four winds”, which
means the withdrawal of God’s protection, resulting in the seven last plagues
described in Revelation chapters 15 and 16.

Under the latter rain of the Holy Spirit, the ‘loud cry’ will proclaim God’s
character of Love, Truth, and Righteousness as revealed in the Plan Of
Redemption, especially the infinite sacrifice of His Son, so powerfully, that the
whole world will be brought to its final decision for or against Jesus and His
truth. When every mind is fixed and the 144, 000 are sealed, probation closes.
Christ’s Most Holy Place ministry is completed and the Heavenly Sanctuary,
representative of God’s government, stands fully vindicated, justified, cleansed
(Hebrew:tsadaq).

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

FOLLOWING THE LAMB

WHEREVER HE GOES

We start this study by reading Revelation 14: verses 1 – 4 which describe the
144, 000 in the Kingdom of Glory after having “gotten the victory over the
beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of His
Name, stand on the sea of glass…” Revelation 15:2.

Revelation 14: 4 and 5 list seven dimensions of character perfection of the

144, 000.

1. They are not defiled with women = complete cleansing from the false
doctrines and sins of the mother harlot and her daughters. Rev.17:1- 5;
Rev.18: 1- 4 .

2. They are virgins (they are the end-time 5 wise virgins of Matthew 25,
having not only the pure faith but also latter rain oil in their vessels,
and have therefore been ripened for the harvest)

3. They follow(ed) the Lamb whithersoever He goeth (this we shall expand

later)

4. They are redeemed from among men = translation at the Second

Coming of Christ

58 | Chapter 13
5. They are firstfruits (= fully ripened and perfected in Christ’s character and
fully reflecting that character to the world and the on-looking universe)

6. There is no guile in their mouths (= they speak and live the truth
without compromise)

7. They are without fault before the Throne (= they have on the wedding
garment = the pure spotless victorious righteousness of Christ, and
their sins have been blotted out by virtue of His infinite sacrifice
and High Priestly Ministry in the Most Holy Place of the Heavenly
Sanctuary.) 1 Thessalonians 5: 23. Jude 1: 24, 25.

“Through the righteousness of Christ we shall stand before God

pardoned, and as though we had never sinned” 5BC 1142

“ Christ imputes to us His sinless character, and presents us to the

Father in His own purity” RH JULY 12, 1892.

Read Romans 3: 21 to 28; Romans 4; Romans 5: 18 to 20; Ephesians

2: 8 to10; James 2: 17.

“Well may our hearts turn to our Redeemer with the most perfect
trust, when we think of what he has done for us, even when we
were sinners. Through faith we may rest in his love. ‘Him that
cometh to me, ’ he says, ‘I will in no wise cast out.’ It would be a
terrible thing to stand before God clothed in sinful garments, with
his eye reading every secret of our lives. But through the efficacy
of Christ’s sacrifice we may stand before God pure and spotless,
our sins atoned for and pardoned. ‘If we confess our sins, he is
faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.’ The redeemed sinner, clothed in the robes of
Christ’s righteousness, may stand in the presence of a sin-hating
God, made perfect by the merits of the Saviour. ‘As many as
received him, ’ the promise is, “to them gave he power to become
the sons of God.” RH May 5, 1910

Following the Lamb Wherever He Goes | 59

“Let those who are oppressed under a sense of sin remember that
there is hope for them. The salvation of the human race has ever
been the object of the councils of heaven. The covenant of mercy
was made before the foundation of the world. It has existed from
all eternity, and is called the everlasting covenant. So surely as
there never was a time when God was not, so surely there never
was a moment when it was not the delight of the eternal mind to
manifest His grace to humanity. He is ever calling, ‘Let the wicked
forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him
return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy uponV him; and to
our God, for He will abundantly pardon.’ ‘Behold, the Lord’s hand
is not shortened, that it can not save, neither His ear heavy, that
it can not hear.’

“Christians, is Christ revealed in us? Are we doing all in our power

to gain a body that is not easily enfeebled, a mind that looks
beyond self to the cause and effect of every movement, that can
wrestle with hard problems and conquer them, a will that is firm
to resist evil and defend the right? Are we crucifying self? Are
we growing up unto the full stature of men and women in Christ,
preparing to endure hardness as good soldiers of the cross?” ST
June 12, 1901

“In the parable the wise virgins had oil in their vessels with their
lamps. Their light burned with undimmed flame through the night
of watching. It helped to swell the illumination for the bridegroom’s
honor. Shining out in the darkness, it helped to illuminate the way to the
home of the bridegroom, to the marriage feast. COL 414.1

“So the followers of Christ are to shed light into the darkness of the
world. Through the Holy Spirit, God’s word is a light as it becomes a
transforming power in the life of the receiver. By implanting in their
hearts the principles of His word, the Holy Spirit develops in men the

60 | Chapter 13
attributes of God. The light of His glory—His character—is to shine forth
in His followers. Thus they are to glorify God, to lighten the path to the
Bridegroom’s home, to the city of God, to the marriage supper of the
Lamb. COL 414.2

“The coming of the bridegroom was at midnight—the darkest hour. So

the coming of Christ will take place in the darkest period of this
earth’s history. The days of Noah and Lot pictured the condition of
the world just before the coming of the Son of man. The Scriptures
pointing forward to this time declare that Satan will work with all power
and “with all deceivableness of unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9,
10. His working is plainly revealed by the rapidly increasing darkness, the
multitudinous errors, heresies, and delusions of these last days. Not only
is Satan leading the world captive, but his deceptions are leavening
the professed churches of our Lord Jesus Christ. The great apostasy
will develop into darkness deep as midnight, impenetrable as sackcloth
of hair. To God’s people it will be a night of trial, a night of weeping,
a night of persecution for the truth’s sake. But out of that night of
darkness God’s light will shine.” COL 414.3

“He causes “the light to shine out of darkness.” 2 Corinthians 4:6. When
“the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the
face of the deep, ” “the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the
waters. And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.” Genesis
1:2, 3. So in the night of spiritual darkness, God’s word goes forth, “Let
there be light.” To His people He says, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come,
and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:1. COL 415.1

“Behold, ” says the Scripture, “the darkness shall cover the earth, and
gross darkness the people; but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and His
glory shall be seen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:2. COL 415.2

Following the Lamb Wherever He Goes | 61

“It is the darkness of misapprehension of God that is enshrouding the
world. Men are losing their knowledge of His character. It has been
misunderstood and misinterpreted. At this time a message from God is
to be proclaimed, a message illuminating in its influence and saving in
its power. His character is to be made known. Into the darkness of the
world is to be shed the light of His glory, the light of His goodness,
mercy, and truth”. COL 415.3

62 | Chapter 13
CHAPTER FOURTEEN

THE PROMISE
OF THE SPIRIT

“Christ declared that after his ascension, he would send to his church,
as his crowning gift, the Comforter, who was to take his place. This
Comforter is the Holy Spirit, —the soul of his life, the efficacy of his
church, the light and life of the world. With his Spirit Christ sends a
reconciling influence and a power that takes away sin.

“In the gift of the Spirit, Jesus gave to man the highest good that
heaven could bestow. The Saviour looked on humanity, and saw that
it was under the power of the prince of darkness; but he saw also
that there was hope for human beings because there was power in
the divine nature successfully to contend with evil agencies. With glad
assurance he said, “Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the
prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth,
will draw all men unto me.”

JOHN 3:5; ROMANS 8: 9, 14

“The Spirit was given as a regenerating agency, and without this the
sacrifice of Christ would have been of no avail. The power of evil had

The Promise of the Spirit | 63

been strengthening for centuries, and the submission of man to this
satanic captivity was amazing. Sin could be resisted and overcome
only through the mighty agency of the Third person of the Godhead,
who would come with no modified energy, but in the fullness of divine
power. It is the Spirit that makes effectual what has been wrought
out by the world’s Redeemer. It is by the Spirit that the heart is made
pure. Through the Spirit the believer becomes a partaker of the divine
nature. Christ has given his Spirit as a divine power to overcome all
hereditary and cultivated tendencies to evil, and to impress his own
character upon the church.

“Christ said of the Spirit, “He shall glorify me.” As Christ glorified the
Father by the demonstration of his love, so the Spirit was to glorify
Christ by revealing to the world the riches of his grace. The very image
of God is to be reproduced in humanity. The honor of God, the honor
of Christ, is involved in the perfection of the character of his people.

TITUS 3:3-7; ROMANS 8: 31-39

“At the cost of infinite sacrifice and suffering, Christ has provided for
us every essential to success in the Christian warfare. The Holy Spirit
brings power that enables man to overcome. It is through the agency
of the Spirit that the government of Satan is to be subdued. It is the
Spirit that convinces of sin, and, with the consent of the human being,
expels sin from the heart. The mind is then brought under a new law,
—the royal law of liberty.

“The Spirit works in us by bringing to mind, vividly and often, the

precious truths of the plan of redemption. We should forget these
truths, and for us God’s rich promises would lose their efficiency, were
it not for the Spirit, who takes of the things of God, and shows them to
us. Our hearts are warmed by the contemplation of Jesus and His love,
and we long to speak to others the comforting assurances that have
been brought to our minds.

64 | Chapter 14
“It is the privilege of every son and daughter of God to have the
indwelling of the Spirit. If those who know the truth would love and fear
the Lord alway, if they would abide in Christ, they would have moral
and spiritual power. The grace of Christ would be in them as a well of
water, springing up unto everlasting life, and would flow from them as
streams of living water.

“The Spirit illumines our darkness, informs our ignorance, and helps us
in our manifold necessities. But the mind must be constantly going out
after God. If worldliness is allowed to come in, if we have no desire to
pray, no desire to commune with him who is the source of strength and
wisdom, the Spirit will not abide with us. Those who are unbelieving do
not receive the rich endowment of grace that would make them wise
unto salvation, patient, forbearing, quick to perceive and appreciate
heavenly ministrations, quick to discern Satan’s devices, and strong to
resist sin. God can not do his mighty work for them because of their
unbelief.

“Christ has promised the gift of the Spirit to his church, and the promise
belongs to us as much as to the first disciples. But like every other
promise, it is given on conditions. There are many who believe, and
profess to claim the Lord’s promise; they talk about Christ and about
the Holy Spirit, yet receive no benefit. They do not surrender the soul
to be guided and controlled by the divine agencies. We can not use
the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is to use us. Through the Spirit God works in
his people “to will and to do of his good pleasure.” But many will not
submit to this. They want to manage themselves. This is why they do not
receive the heavenly gift. Only to those who wait humbly upon God,
who watch for his guidance and grace, is the Spirit given.

“Christ declared that the divine influence was to be with his followers
to the end. But the promise is not accepted and believed by God’s
people; therefore its fulfilment is not seen. The promise of the Spirit

The Promise of the Spirit | 65

is a matter little thought of; and the result is only what might be
expected, —spiritual drought, spiritual weakness, spiritual declension and
death. Minor matters occupy the attention, and the divine power that
is necessary for the growth and prosperity of the church, and which
would bring all other blessings in its train, is lacking, though offered in
its infinite plentitude.

“Just so long as the church is satisfied with small things will it fail of
receiving the great things of God. Why do we not hunger and thirst
after the gift of the Spirit, since this is the means by which we are to
receive power? Talk of it, pray for it, preach concerning it. The Lord is
more willing to give the Holy Spirit to us than parents are to give good
gifts to their children.

“If our workers realized the responsibility resting upon them, would they
enter the work without cherishing a deep sense of its sacredness? Should
we not see the deep movings of the Spirit of God upon the men who
present themselves for the ministry? For the baptism of the Holy Spirit,
every worker should be offering his prayer to God. Companies should
be gathered together to ask for special help, for heavenly wisdom, that
they may know how to devise and execute. Especially should men pray
that God will baptize his missionaries with the Holy Spirit.

“There is no limit to the usefulness of one who, putting aside self, makes
room for the working of the Holy Spirit upon his heart, and lives a life
wholly consecrated to God. If men will endure the necessary discipline,
without complaining or fainting by the way, God will teach them hour
by hour, and day by day. He longs to reveal his grace. If his people will
remove the obstructions, he will pour forth the waters of salvation in
abundant streams through human channels. If men in humble life were
encouraged to do all the good they could do, if restraining hands were
not laid upon them to repress the zeal, there would be one hundred
workers for Christ where now there is one.

66 | Chapter 14
“God takes men as they are, and educates them for his service, if they
will yield themselves to him. The Spirit of God, received into the soul,
will quicken all its faculties. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the
mind that is devoted unreservedly to God develops harmoniously, and
is strengthened to comprehend and fulfil the requirements of God. The
weak, vacillating character becomes changed to one of strength
and steadfastness. Continual devotion establishes so close a relation
between Jesus and his disciples that the Christian becomes like him
in mind and character. Through a connection with Christ he will have
clearer and broader views. His discernment will be more penetrative,
his judgment better balanced.

“The presence of the Holy Spirit with God’s workers will give the
presentation of truth a power that not all the honor or glory of the
world could give. The Spirit furnishes the strength that sustains striving,
wrestling souls in every emergency, amid the unfriendliness of relatives,
the hatred of the world, and the realization of their own imperfections
and mistakes.

“A union of divine and human endeavor, a close connection first, last,

and ever, with God, the source of all strength, —this is absolutely
necessary in our work.” R.H. May 19, 1904

THE ‘RAINS’ OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Hosea 10:12; Isaiah 45:8; Jeremiah 5:24; James 5:7; Zechariah 10:1; Hosea 6: 3.

“Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD (YAHWEH)
your GOD: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and He
will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the latter
rain in the first month”. Joel 2:23 KJV.

‫ = הֶ֖רוֹּמַה‬ham mo vreh, means a teacher of righteousness; translated early

rain from the root yarah

The Promise of the Spirit | 67

‫ =הֶ֥רוֹמ‬mo-v-reh, (mowreh) teacher of righteousness from root yarah:
translated rain

‫ = הָ֑קָדְצִל‬liz-da-kah, (tsdaqah) means according to or, in proportion to,

righteousness from root tsadaq: translated moderately in KJV

‫ = םֶׁשֶּ֛ג‬ge-shem, from ? root. Translated shower

‫ = ׁשוֹ֖קְלַמּו‬u-mal-ko-vsh, from root: lequesh: Translated latter rain
In Number 11 of his 1893 Lectures on The Third Angel’s Message, A T Jones
drew attention to the KJV translation “the former rain moderately” (Hebrew
mowreh lizdakah). Jones indicated that a more accurate translation would
be: “a teacher of righteousness according to righteousness”, or, as some
Hebrew Scholars translate it: “the teaching of righteousness in proportion to
righteousness”. Though the translation of these Hebrew words is challenging,
one clear and sure fact is this: the Hebrew word lizdakah is derived from the
root TSADAQ a word we are familiar with. Tsadaq is translated cleansed in
Daniel 8:14; but it is also, and more frequently, translated to be justified or
vindicated, see Psalm 51:4; Isaiah 43: 9; Isaiah 45:24, 25, in these verses tsadaq
is translated justified. In Psalm 19: 9 tsadaq is translated righteous.

Let us read some other translations of Joel 2:23

God’s Word Translations: “ People of Zion, be glad and find joy in the
LORD your God. The LORD has given you the Teacher of Righteousness.
He has sent the autumn rain and spring rain as before”

The Message Bible: “ Children of Zion, celebrate! Be glad in the your God.
He’s giving you a teacher to train you how to live right – Teaching, like
rain out of heaven, showers of words to refresh and nourish your soul, just
as He used to do”

68 | Chapter 14
English Standard Version: “ Be glad, O children of Zion, and rejoice in
the LORD your God, for He has given the early rain for your vindication,
he has poured down for you abundant rain, the early and latter rain as
before”

According to Young’s Analytical Concordance to the Bible, tsadaq appears

41 times in the Bible, not including Joel 2:23. Now that we understand that
lizdakah (translated moderately in the KJV) is derived from tsadaq, we can
update the number of times tsadaq occurs in the Bible to 42. This number 42 is
highly significant. 42= 3 × 14. Fourteen is the number of redemption (2×7)
and the two sevens in 14 indicate the two-fold significance of the seventh day
Sabbath in Creation and Redemption as the Seal of God’s Law, the seal of
perfection.

The number 3, Divine Decisive Action, indicates that the work of redemption
was entirely the work of the Godhead.

But 42 can also be seen as 6 × 7 (6 is the number of man, 7 is the number of

Divine completeness in perfection); so 6×7 indicates the union of divinity with
humanity in the incarnate Son of God Who completely and perfectly worked
out our redemption and also indicates that man’s cooperation is essential in
receiving the free gift of salvation, and, by the Love of God in the indwelling
Holy Spirit, living in obedience to God’s Law and reflecting His character
by abiding in Christ and having His righteousness thereby being witnesses
