Blending of Aggregates
A series of individual gradations are carried out on hot bin aggregates to obtain the truly representative grading for
each individual type of coarse and fine aggregates, average of these gradation results are summarized and
blending proportions are fixed to meet the gradations requirements as per MORTH Table 500-17

The adopted gradation as shown in enclosed graph was blended and gradations were carried for blended
proportions in accordance with the MORTH table 500-18 grading-II s result of laboratory investigations the JMF for
BC is arrived as follows for the above fixed proportions.
The samples at bitumen content ranging from 5 to 6% were prepared and compacted by giving 75 blows at both
ends of specimens. Each compacted specimen is subjected to the following tests and analyzed in order listed below
Using the bulk density of the aggregates and maximum specific gravity of bituminous paving mix, % of air voids

Preparation of Mix
The Bituminous Concrete (BC) mix shall be produced from the hot mix plant, wich is locatd at Ch :- 387+395 LHS @
Dudan Wadi. The plant was calibrated for weight batch, bitumen and filler weigher and was found satisfactory
Featuresof the HMP :
Name of the plant : AMMANN ECHOTECH 120
Type : Batch Type
Plant Capacity : 120 TPH
Standard batch Size : 1000 Kg
Max.batch size : 1500 Kg
Temperature Control
Temperature control for aggregates, bitumen and mix shall be followed as per the MORT & H Specifications
Section 500-2.
Conclusions
The marshall properties of the above proposed design mix conforms to the requirements of the MORT & H table
500-17. Therefore the mix is proposed to use in Bituminous Concrete (BC Gr-II) Construction as base course in
single layer of thickness ranging from 30-40 mm
Introduction :
Bituminous Concrete (BC Gr- ll) is a pre-mixed bituminous mix with waste Plastic which is well compacted to form high
quality pavement wearing course. The Bituminous Concrete consists of proportioned mixture of coarse aggregate, fine
aggregates, Bitumen Waste Plastic and Filler the requirements of Stability,Flow,Density and Voids analysis. The has
been carried out for the source of bitumen is from Agarwal ,Aggregates obtained from Renuka Stone Crushrer Plant @
387+395 LHS Dudan Wadi & Waste Plastic from SB International.
AIM :
BC Mix Design Grading -II with use of waste plastic in wearing course by using dry process ( Waste plastic modified
dense graded bituminous pavement layer)
Method of Process :
