INPUT
The Choithram North Model United Nations (CNMUN) was hosted on 12th, 13th, and 14th
August 2024, under the theme Legacy of Diplomacy. The event brought together three sister
schools of the Choithram Group: Choithram Manik Bagh, Choithram International, and
Tirathbai Kalachand School.
The conference comprised 14 committees, each engaging participants in intense debates
and discussions on a variety of pressing global and national issues:
1. MPLA: Evaluating the impact of subsidies on state budgets: Financial sustainability
and policy implications.
2. Lok Sabha: Reforming delimitation processes under Article 82: Ensuring fair
representation and correcting electoral imbalances.
3. AIPPM: Addressing the NEET NTA scam.
4. Rajya Sabha: Addressing illegal immigrant issues.
5. IMC: Evaluating the success and shortcomings of existing slum rehabilitation
programs.
6. SOCHUM: Addressing the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
7. UNSC: Addressing the threat of political assassination and strengthening global
measures for international security.
8. UNCSW: Women’s reproductive rights with a special focus on the Israel-Palestine
conflict.
9. WHO: Evaluating current response strategies for global health emergencies with a
special focus on the STSS outbreak in Japan.
10. UNGA DISEC: Strengthening international frameworks for combating cybercrime.
11. UNHRC: Evaluating human rights implications of border control measures with
special emphasis on Poland’s arms bill.
12. WTO: Enhancing digital trade policies to simplify the facilitation of the E-Commerce
Joint Initiative.
13. SPECBOL: Proposing strategies to support sovereignty and sustainable
development in post-colonial regions.
14. UNODC: Addressing underage substance abuse.
Committees such as Lok Sabha and UNGA DISEC were designated "One Choithram"
committees, promoting a collaborative environment among participants.
OUTPUT/ACTIVITY
Planning and Collaboration:
● The theme was finalized after consulting the core committee.
● Invitations to alumni for chairing roles were sent via email.
● Vice chairs from Choithram schools conducted training sessions for 7th-8th graders.
● Duty charts were prepared and approved for all involved.
Pre-Event Preparations:
● Announcements and practice schedules were shared through assemblies and posted
on softboards.
● Promotional reels, and posts were released on social media 15 days prior.
Event Execution:
● Over the three days, participants engaged in vibrant debates, alliances, and bloc
formations.
● Juniors were mentored, improving teamwork and communication skills.
● Seniors honed their debating, leadership, and research skills.
Post-Event Activities:
● A press release and a Facebook post were published with event highlights and
photographs.
