Welcome to the Lake Somo
1. The address is W8667 Forrester Rd, Tomahawk. The cabin is at the very end of
Forrester Rd, Tomahawk -- The last 1/2 - 3/4 mi is a private road, so GPS’s sometimes
doesn't show it. Just go to the very end - cabin on right
2. The door code is 1267
3. Please restrict smoking to porch or outdoors.
4. There are directions on the kitchen counter about cabin -- The easiest way to get
things started is to reverse the "Closing Check List".
5. There are assorted condiments and snacks, feel free to use as you wish.
6. There are direction for boat and map of lake (where to avoid) You can leave money
($60/day used, cash or check) in container on kitchen counter (honor system). There

8. Either take garbage with you or put in black yard bags and put in garage. (The dump
is only open Sat 9-1 on Dump Road))
9. Phone service is weak (depending on service and depending on direction the wind is
blowing :-) . It seems Verizon put in a new tower and has a stronger singal.
10. To operate the grill, you must turn on the valve on top of the tank. (please turn off
after use and empty grease catcher.)
11. If you are having a camp fire:
1. Check the DNR website or call to check on burn limitation
(https://dnr.wi.gov/topic/ForestFire/restrictions.asp or 1-888-WIS-BURN (947-
2876).
2. Take a pail of water (kitty litter bucket under back porch) with you and douse
fire when done.
12. Have a good time -- ask any other questions 262-222-3086 or 224-433-0008
The paths are “woodland” paths. There are numerous rocks, roots, and down
branches. Please use due caution.
Most of the lake water come through a large area of many tamarack trees. This turns
the water brown. It’s essentially “tamarack tea”.
Additional info
Fireplace: there is a cast iron “brick” in the fireplace. Put a couple of “glugs” of
kerosene in brick and light. NEVER put it on a hot brick.
Bedrooms: each room has baseboard heaters. They are very effective; set very low
before bed or you will be roasted alive,
TV: Sometimes channels 7 and 12 disappear. They will come back eventually. Some
minor rotor motion helps.
TV: Inputs TV=over the air
DVD=HDMI 1
