The rented vehicle sped along along the pedistrian area that is pupolar with tourists,
mowing down people and sending others flying for cover.
13 people die and dozens were endured when a van ploughed in to crowds in
Barcelo
nas famous Las Ramblas area, Catalan police and local officials said on Thurs.
Spain’s prime minister Mariano Rajoy says it was a “jihadist attack.”
Two peoples has been arrested, but Police said neither was the driver, who
fledonfoot.
Early on Fri. morning, Catalan police said an operation was place taking in town
of Cambrils, to the south-west of Barcelona, in response to a “possible terrorist attack”
and have told people their to stay outdoors.

The authorities also said an explosion on Wednesday


evening on a house outside Barcelona that left one person dead was connected
to the Las Ramblas atttack.
Spain’s prime minister Mariano Rajoy says it was a “jihadist attack.”
Dozens of gas cylinders were found at the house in the town of Alcanar about
100 km (60 miles) south west of Barcelona, and Reuters quoted a police source as
saying resident were prepparing expllosives.
In an other incident, police shot died a man who drives into officers at a checkpoint on
the
out-skirts of Barcelona, but the authorities said there was no evidence
that he was connected to the attack in Las Ramblas
