HIGH COURT ASO (MAINS) ENG TEST-2 [QUESTION]

FULL MARKS- 100 TIME- 2 HOURS

(ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS)
1. Write an essay on below topic: (20)
a) Roles of Start-Ups in development of Economy in India.

2. Write a precise of the given passage (with in 100 words) 15

Climate change is one of the most pressing global challenges of the 21st century, with far-
reaching impacts on the environment, economy, and human health. It refers to long-term
shifts in temperatures and weather patterns, primarily caused by human activities such as
burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes. These actions increase the
concentration of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane in the atmosphere,
leading to global warming. As a result, the Earth’s average temperature has risen
significantly over the past century, causing glaciers to melt, sea levels to rise, and extreme
weather events like floods, droughts, and heatwaves to become more frequent and
intense. Climate change disrupts ecosystems, endangers biodiversity, and threatens food
and water security for millions of people. In coastal regions, rising sea levels and storms
are forcing communities to relocate, while in agricultural zones, changing rainfall patterns
and rising temperatures are reducing crop yields. Economically, it imposes huge costs due
to damage to infrastructure, loss of productivity, and health-related issues. The impact is
especially severe in developing countries like India, which are more vulnerable due to high
population density, poverty, and dependence on climate-sensitive sectors like agriculture.
Tackling climate change requires global cooperation and immediate action. Solutions
include reducing greenhouse gas emissions by transitioning to renewable energy sources
such as solar and wind, promoting energy efficiency, protecting forests, and adopting
sustainable practices in industry and daily life. International agreements like the Paris
Agreement aim to limit global temperature rise and encourage countries to take
responsibility. Public awareness, education, and innovation also play key roles in driving
change. Addressing climate change is not just an environmental necessity but a moral and
economic imperative, essential for safeguarding the planet for future generations and
ensuring long-term sustainable development.

The middle class plays a vital role in shaping the economic, social, and political fabric of any
country, including India. Broadly defined as individuals or families with moderate income levels
and stable lifestyles, the middle class acts as a bridge between the lower and upper economic
strata. In India, the middle class has expanded significantly over the past few decades, driven
by economic liberalization, urbanization, and the growth of sectors like information technology,

education, healthcare, and manufacturing. This group contributes greatly to the economy
through consumption, savings, and investments, making it a major driver of demand for goods
and services. With aspirations for better education, healthcare, housing, and quality of life, the
middle class also fuels industries such as real estate, automobiles, travel, and consumer
electronics. Socially, the middle class often emphasizes values such as hard work, education,
and social mobility, and it plays a key role in promoting civic awareness, democratic
participation, and community development. Politically, this segment is influential in shaping
public opinion and often becomes a focal point in policymaking, as governments aim to meet
their expectations through reforms, subsidies, and development schemes. However, the Indian
middle class also faces challenges such as rising inflation, job insecurity, and limited access to
quality public services.
