2. General description and expected use

This is a machine designed to store and dispense objects, which are visible behind a glass and are lit with
the machine’s own LED strips. The products can be of very different sizes, and the machine features an
elevator that reduces shocks to objects being dispensed. Depending on the machine model, it may have a
refrigerating system that allows the products to be kept below room temperature. It is mandatory that all
foodstuffs to be dispensed or stored be packaged. It does not have a payment solution so it will have to be
commanded by a separate module or controlling machine.

Please note that there are 3 distinct models of ESPLUS V8 machines, each with a different cooling unit
option.
• ESPLUS R290 V8: The cooling unit uses R290 gas.

3. Operating conditions

This is a machine specifically designed to work in interiors according to UNE-60335-2-89 climate class 4,
which corresponds to an ambient temperature of 30°C/86°F and a relative humidity of 55%. The machine
can work properly at an ambient temperature between 5°C and 32°C (41°F and 89,6°F), a maximum humidity
of 65% and a maximum product load of 100 Kg (220 lb). The manufacturer declines all liability for damage
resulting from improper use of the machine. Any other use will void the manufacturer guarantee.

In order to optimally preserve perishable products inside the machine, cooling unit cut-off temperature
must be set at 2°C/35,6°F. When storing other types of products, the most suitable conditions for the types
of products to be dispensed by the machine should be determined.

Setting a temperature inside the machine other than that recommended for food storage does not meet
the food storage, preservation, transport, and sale standards. This can lead to a break in the cold chain and
spoilage of the food stored inside.

The average sound pressure level A is lower than 70 dB.

In case you install the machine at an altitude of above 1500 metres, ask to the Jofemar technical support .

5. Dimensions required for the installation

Installing the machine requires a minimum space to ensure it fits and the door can be opened without
colliding against anything :

In addition to the dimensions indicated for proper installation, please take into account that the ESPLUS
R290 V8 model is a piece of equipment with flammable gas and, therefore, it is subject to a minimum
space requirement as shown in the of key safety instructions table in this document.

6. Installation and start-up

6.1. Installation advises
Do not install the machine near active heat sources (heaters, radiators, etc). The machine sucks the air for
ventilate the condenser by the lower part of the front and expulses hot air by the central part of the back.

It is recommended to leave a minimum separation of 7 cm/2,75” between the back of the machine and the
wall.
Avoid obstructing the grids located at the front of the cabinet.

In 24-hour vending facilities, make sure that the hot air coming out of the machine at the back can be easily
discharged, i.e., that the machine is properly vented at the back. Efficient removal of hot air significantly
reduces the power consumption of your machine and hence your electricity bill.

 Note: An improper cooling could compromise the good working of the cooling unit..

1st. To ensure the cleaning and hygienic conditions of the machine are met, in certain markets could
be necessary to seal hermetically the base of the machine to the floor or install the machines on
levelling feet that allow to do the cleaning under the machine. The installation of the machine on
feet, as well as the installation of an optional kit at the base of the elevator also allows to raise
the position of the product delivery, making easier the accessibility of the machine to people
with reduced mobility. Both aspects (cleaning and clearance at the lower part of the machine)
are important in case you need the installation of the machine meet specific regulations (for
example ADA, NSF, etc.).

2nd. Open the door and place the products on its channels with its selection number on the base of
each one .

8. Perishable food conservation

Managing food products (particularly perishable products) must take into account health and food safety
requirements.

Make sure to scrupulously follow manufacturer instructions regarding the storage temperature and expiry
date of each product.

Any other use is to be considered improper and therefore potentially dangerous.

In cases the machines store any perishable, all the products reloaded inside the machine must have a
temperature equal or lower than 4°C/39,2°F, being perishable or not .

To ensure the conservation of perishable food, you must configure the working temperature to 2°C/35,6°F.
With this configuration, the stored products can be conserved at a temperature lower than 3°C/37,4°F.

Before product loading, make sure the machine has reached 2°C/35,6°F.

Every load operation must be performed as soon as possible (10 minutes max), for avoiding the machine
reach the 7°C/44,6°F .

This way, the equip is prepared for warranting 3°C/37,4°F at the lower part of the machine in less than 60
minutes since the end of the product loading, if the device was set to the programmed temperature
(2°C/35,6°F), and every product has been loaded with a temperature lower than 3°C/37,4°F.

 Note: The manufacturer shall assume no responsibility for people damage, by the caution failure
previously quoted and the regulations in force.

 Note: Do not load products whose temperature is over 3°C/37,4°F, inside the machine.

• Disconnect the machine from electrical mains, before cleaning the elevator.

• In case of any product was poured in the elevator, disconnect the machine, and clean the elevator
with a damp cloth. Wait until the surface is completely dry before starting the machine

• To access the interior trays (restocking area), open the machine door and slide them out tray by
tray along their guides.

• if there is a spill on a tray, remove the tray from the machine and clean it using a cloth moistened
with water, never with alcohol or acids. Remove the channels from their slots to better can clean
the whole surface an return everything to the original position.

• Check that the belt moves freely and that it is not obstructed anywhere along its path.

• The machine’s interior should always be dry to ensure it works properly.

• Comply with food security obligations for packaged and refrigerated food products (foodstuffs).

• Carefully follow instructions regarding handling, expiry date and storage methods for each
individual product.

• Any other form of administration or inappropriate use will be considered potentially dangerous.

 Note: When handling the cooling unit, always do so with the machine turned off and make sure that
you do not bend any pipes, as they could break and produce a gas leak.

Note: It is very important never to touch any parts where there is LIVE VOLTAGE such as the power
box and the wiring supplying the LED lights. To access these areas, open the machine’s outside door and
use a screw driver to remove the metal boxes protecting these components.

12.4. Cleaning or disinfecting recommended agents

For a proper machine maintenance, the following steps must be taken:

• Protect the machine against humidity, dust, dirt, etc.

• Do not clean the machine with concentrated products as they may attack the paint and alter the
colour.
• Do not clean the machine with steam.
• Do not clean the machine with a water jet.
• Frequent cleaning, can prevent breakdowns and extend the machine's life.

12.5. R290 cooling unit recommendations

Danger warning: Modifications to the R290 cooling unit may pose a significant risk to the safety
of the end user.

Danger warning: Never add or modify the location or type of electrical components located in
the refrigerated area.

Danger warning: Never modify any machine mechanical components (partitions, doors, joints,
etc.), as this may affect gas distribution in case of leakage, thereby impinging upon the safety of the
machine.

 Note : Note: The electrical components provided by Jofemar outside the refrigerated area have
been placed in safe locations as determined by 60355-2-89 standard tests.

Placing additional electrical elements outside the refrigerated area also poses a significant risk.

Note: any anomaly in the refrigerating system must be considered potentially dangerous, as the unit
contains R290 gas and should therefore be handled exclusively by a person trained in handling this type of
gas. The gas circuit must never be repaired at the machine location. It must be taken to a specialist
workshop. If this happens, turn off the main switch and disconnect the machine from the mains, open the
machine door, and proceed to identify the possible leakage by means of a suitable detector. Wait 5
minutes after opening the door and, if you have checked that there is in fact no leak, then you can
intervene to diagnose the fault.

For maintenance work and work on the unit, make sure that the area:

• Is well ventilated.
• is free from ignition sources within a radius of 3 m/119,11”.

Danger Warning: R290 (propane) is a flammable gas. The propane gas used in this cooling unit do not
have additives that help the detection of a leak using the smell. It has a sweet smell, but is not noticiable
in low concentration. Because of that, never use the smell absence as a reference of a gas absence out of
cooling circuit
When working on the machine, do not smoke or use any tools that produce flames or sparks.

Do not drill holes in the cooling circuit or use tools that could cause damage in the vicinity of the pipes that
comprise the refrigerating system.

If necessary, introduce forced ventilation by means of a suitable fan module. This fan must be ATEX and
have a 5 m/ 196,85” cable that allows it to be switched on from outside the safe working area.

When carrying out invasive work or if a leak is suspected, the work area must be checked and monitored by
means of an HC detector.

Most leak detectors used for HFCs and HCFCs are not safe or sensitive for use with flammable refrigerants,
so specific electronic detectors for flammable gases (or leak detector spray) must be used.

A fire extinguisher on hand is also recommended. It can be a dry chemical powder extinguisher with a
capacity of at least 2 kg/4,40 lb, or a CO2 extinguisher of equivalent size.

Note: Although the energy efficiency of the R290 gas is higher, for safety reasons:
NEVER install the cooling unit of an ESPLUS R290 V8 on a machine that is not an ESPLUS R290 V8.
NEVER install in an ESPLUS V8 machine a cooling unit other than the one provided by Jofemar S.A. for this
machine model.

Jofemar S.A. declines all responsibility for any damages arising from failure to comply with the
aforementioned.

Note: For the ESPLUS REFRIGER V8 machines, the gas used for the cooling unit belongs to class A1 and
is therefore of low toxicity and flammability.

13. Transport, storage and packaging/unpackaging

13.1. Transport and displacement
With the aim of avoid damaging the equipment, the product loading and unloading operations must be
performed taking special care.

MNP208M01ENV00 Fecha: 2022/04/19 Rev. 07 Released 26 de 32

ESPLUS R290/REFRIGER/AMBIENT V8

Given the small amount of gas contained in each machine, companies operating in compliance with current
Health and Safety regulations do not need to implement any specific procedures.

According to special provision 119 for UN2857 equipment, and special provision 291 for UN3358 equipment,
the goods are not subject to ADR (European Agreement concerning the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by
Road) if they contain less than 12 kg/ 26,45lb of gas in Class 2 (such as R290). As a result, a fully loaded lorry
or container of machines can be freely transported.

It is possible to raise the machine using a forklift, motorized or manual, placing the catches in the inferior
part of the pallet. The displacement along short stretches (inside an establishment or an office) can be
performed without using the pallet, taking great care not to damage the machine.

In case the machine has a cooling unit, it should always be transported in vertical position.

Any case, always avoid:

• Tipping of the machine.

• Pull the machine with ropes or other elements.
• Raise the machine by gripping it on its sides.
• Shake or hit the machine or the packaging.

13.2. Storage
When storing machines with R290 gas, it is not necessary to implement extra safety procedures and
measures in the warehouse. However, the presence of equipment supplied with this gas should be taken
into account when updating the risk assessment document for the site where it is stored.

For the storing of the machine it is necessary a dry ambient with temperatures between 1° and 32°C (33,8°
F and 89,6° F).

It is very important not to stack one machine on the top of the other and hold the machine vertically.

Once the machine is properly stored, block its movement for avoiding displacements or accidental hits.
13.3. Packaging/unpackaging
The packaging materials must be carefully removed with the aim of avoid damaging the equipment, and
check that all the items of the machine have been properly unpacked.

Have in mind not to destroy the packaging materials until the representative of the carrier has examined it.

To remove the plastic feet of the machine, raise the machine using a pallet truck.

In case the machine is packed on a pallet, you have to unscrew the screws that anchor the base of the
machine and lift the machine making sure the feet protrude from the profile of the pallet.

14.Environment and regulations

14.1. Recycling
When you need to discard packing materials, please find out about how they can be recycled.

Do not dispose of electronic circuits as domestic waste as many of the materials used to
manufacture its components are recyclable.
Do not burn or throw away the battery. Batteries should be disposed of in accordance with
local laws and regulations and can be recycled.

To manage the equipment as waste once the client has decided to dispose of it, Jofemar has set up a
collection system with an Integrated Management System. Please consult us for information about
recycling.

14.2. Environment
Saving energy contributes to preserving the environment and, in the long run, helps save a considerable
amount of money. This section contains advice on optimising the machine's use of energy as much as
possible.

• The machine should be in a cool, dry, well-ventilated location, so a place with these
characteristics should be chosen within the premises.
• Direct exposure to sunlight should be avoided. If necessary, use a shade or parasol.

Throughout the design process, efforts have been made to ensure that the machine has a minimum
environmental impact, in terms of the use of raw materials, assembly, transport, service life and collection
for recycling.

This section lists several major ways in which Jofemar fulfils its commitment:

• Lower energy consumption.

• Avoiding the use of a full cardboard box.
• Improving the insulation in cold machines.
