COURSE OUTLINE
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is an experiential course for beginning pre-service teachers. As reflected in the CHED Memo, this
is Observation of Teaching-Learning in Actual School Environment. It will immerse future teachers with actual
classroom situation and learning environment where direct observation of teaching-learning episodes that
focus on the observation courses are demonstrated and are given emphasis. Application of educational
theories learned in content and pedagogy, observations on the learner’s behavior, motivation, and teacher’s
strategy of teaching classroom management, and assessment of learning among these shall be given
emphasis, and a portfolio shall be included in this course.
Course Outcomes:
At the end of the course, the students would be able to:
COGNITIVE:
CO1: Connect the theories of lifelong learning with the experience undertaken in field study;
CO2: Demonstrate an in depth understanding of learning theories and principles;
CO3: Analyze concepts of multiple intelligences; and
CO4: Distinguish teaching approach, teaching methods, teaching strategy and teaching technique.
AFFECTIVE:
CO5: Recognize the different benefits of these approaches;
CO6: Express in gratitude the personal and professional qualities of a teacher being displayed;
CO7: Acknowledge the roles of assessment in the classroom; and
CO8: Persevere in working well with different problems encountered and choose appropriate problem-
solving strategies.
Psychomotor:
CO9: Construct a highly developed skill of learning and writing the experiences that transpired in the
cooperating school;
CO10: Plan teaching-learning activities that use outcome based;
CO11: Imbibe the best practices of education vis a vis to urban learning then private and public teaching;
CO12: Design ways on how to cope-up with the challenges of teaching in the 21 st century;
CO13: Plan alternative or authentic assessment tools using rubric; and
CO14: Participate and collaborated in creating a positive learning environment for others.
