The Struggle of Nora Helmer
The Struggle of Nora Helmer In the play, A Doll House, Nora Helmer is a house wife who
experiences an unexpected event with her husband, Torvald, which led to a whole new
understanding of her life and what she was going to do with it. Nora would always try to do
anything that she could to please her husband so that she would always keep him happy towards
her and never give him a reason to leave her because she felt that she loved him so much and she
would not know what to do without him. Nora would constantly lie to make sure that Torvald was
happy and she would make sure that he would not find out. At the beginning of the play, Nora was
being accused by Torvald of eating macaroons and she stated You know I could never think of going

Torvald was trying to cover up and say that it was not his fault that they had not had a serious talk
because if they would have had a serious talk, it would just get Nora into problems that he has in
his life. This really made Nora realize that their relationship was not real and that they did not
truly care for each other and their problems like a normal couple would. Nora had also come to
the conclusion that she has lived by doing tricks (III) for Torvald all of her the years that she has
been with him and she was tired of it. This is showing that Nora is claiming that she felt like
Torvalds doll wife and that she was always just there for fun for Torvald and not for being in a
serious relationship with him. This made Nora realize that she was never happy when she lived
with Torvald and that she wanted to leave and start a whole new life. The letter, the fighting, and
Nora taking off her costume were all part of the journey that Nora had taken to realize that she
was never happy with her life when she lived with Torvald and that she was ready for everything
in her life to change. Torvald tries to convince Nora that she cannot leave the house because she has
duties to take care of him and her children. Nora responds to Torvald by stating that she has other
duties equally sacred (III) and Torvald questions what could be more important in her life other than
himself and the children, so she explains
The Pros And Cons Of The Death Penalty
A clear majority of voters (61%) would choose a punishment other than the death penalty for
murder, including life with no possibility of parole... (DPIC, 2017). More than half of the
population in the United States is classified as being religious. Religion is a delicate topic because
of how people feel towards it, presenting a very loyal and intense belief, no matter what religion.
Whether the death penalty be abolished or supported, if religion taken into consideration; there is a
strong belief that though it may be the capital crime, death penalty should not be an option. There
are five forms of death penalty in the in United States, in most countries lethal injection is the
primary method, as for the second options include electrocution, lethal gas, firing squad, and only in
Washington; hanging. Death penalty is a commonly asked question of whether it is good or bad,
considering three significant points being that millions are spent; discrimination and a gamble;
misconduct, perjury and false accusations are all matters to believe that the death penalty is
ludicrous. One of the biggest problems as a result of the death penalty is that millions are being
spent. The current system in California s expense on the procedure is $137 million annually,
opposing to the cost of an alternative punishment which would be $11.5 million. Taxpayers
contribute a great amount of money, Taxpayers in the state of Colorado have spent nearly $33
million defending suspects in death penalty
Ventricular Fibrillation And Its Effects On The Heart
Ventricular fibrillation (VF) is a life threatening condition in which the signaling in the ventricles
of the hearts is no longer coordinated. The loss of this coordinated signaling causes rapid, random
and chaotic signaling leading to spasms of the ventricular walls. During VF, blood is not being
circulated to the brains and the rest of the body and is therefore deprived of oxygen. This
condition can be reversed by using a defibrillator, which sends an electric discharge of direct
current to the victim (1). Improper signaling of electrical activity in the heart can also lead to a
rapid heart rate. This type of tachycardia is called ventricular tachycardia (VT) and may lead to VF
(Figure 1). Pulseless VT is also with defibrillationand VF and VT are both considered shockable heart
rhythms (2,3).
A large and increasing proportion of patients presents with non shockable rhythms in out of hospital
cardiac arrest (OHCA). These non shockable rhythms are pulseless electrical activity (PEA) and
asystole. During PEA, a normal heart rhythm is observed on the electrocardiogram (ECG), but
without cardiac output. Asystole is a condition without ventricular complexes. The heart muscles fail
to contract due to the lack of cardiac electrical activity. Both PEA and asystole are treated with
cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) without defibrillation, combined with epinephrine
administered intravenously (4). Non shockable rhythms are associated with high mortality. The
survival rates of PEA
Mcdonald s Corporation International Financial...
This paper analyzes McDonald s corporation and Wendy s corporation international financial
performance. Data for various financial ratios have been adopted from income statement,
balance sheet and cash flow statement. The biggest fast food chains and widely known are
McDonald s and Wendy s. To compare these two companies financial capabilities we will have to
look at current ratio, earnings per share, earnings/price, equity/debt ratio and divided yield all
need to be carefully thought out to obtain an idea of which is better. Earnings per share are the
total amount of cash a company gets for having one single share. It is better, the more the
earnings per share, this is because the profit will be bigger for the stocks that a company owns.
Wendy s earning per share is $0.68, whereas McDonald s are only $0.17. This is due to the fact
that even though McDonald s usually earns more money per year, they have bigger number of
shareholders. In other words, this means that each stockholder of McDonald get to be paid less
amount from huge pool of stockholders. On the side of Wendy s, they are attempting to their
ratio from 7% to 10%, which is below a longer term goal of 12 percent to 15 percent. On a careful
analysis of McDonald s you will realize that earnings per share is low, hence requires to be
publicize they are doing better. Using this ratio it is quite obvious, Wendy s is in a better situation.
Working capital ratio is used to show the relationship between total
Analysis Of War And Peace By Leo Tolstoy
In this paper, I will discuss the concept of simplicity in War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. That
simplicity is narratively shown by character Platon Karataev (Platon for short), his dog, the
complexity of Pierre and Tolstoy s philosophy of life.
Platon and Pierre are inmates to one another. Platon shows up in Chapter 3 of Book 12, 13 and 14.
Even though a number of words Tolstoy writes about Platon is not significant compared to our
personas such as Pierre, Natasha or Prince Andrew, it s still enough for us, the reader, to perceive the
simplicity of this character. Platon is a simple person, physically and spiritually. On page 857, line
And there was so much kindliness and simplicity in his singsong voice that Pierre tried to reply ,
Pierre feels tears rising to his eyes when Platon asks if Pierre has seen a lot of trouble. Right after
acknowledging that, Platon instantly continued in the same pleasant tones to encourage Pierre
(857). He explains there are good men and there are bad men, then he offers Pierre some baked
potatoes. Pierre feels warm and welcomed. Platon treats Pierre like a friend and Platon himself is
a child, an innocent and simple one, who s waiting for so long to get a company of his visited
home. That innocence and simplicity are also shown on page 857, line his words were always
waiting ready in his mouth and flew out involuntarily and page 860, line his face, despite its fine...

Why Did Ancient Art Man Use Animals To Depict Their Deities
I have a few theories as to why ancient man used animals to depict their deities. First I ll start with
Prehistoric Art. As far back as 30,000 B.C.E. man created pictures of nature. From paintings on
cave walls to sculptures carved of rock from within the cave, prehistoric man paid tribute by
creating art in the form of animals such as bulls, bison, horses, bears, and even felines. To these
people these animals were a life source. Not only as food but for warmth, weapons and tools. By
worshipping these creatures with art man believed they were showing gratitude therefore ensuring
more animals would come. As seen with the Wounded Bison at the Cave of Altamira in Northern
Spain, these bison were painted on the cave ceiling. Man noticed the bulges in the rock and chose to
paint the creature it resembles most even though it may have been difficult to reach. As though it
was a calling of a higher power, man would build scaffoldings against the walls to allow themselves
better access to their canvas. With the Egyptians their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With these visual representations for their gods and Pharaohs it s easy to believe that the people
of Egypt lived in fear. For breaking Pharaohs laws would enact the wrath of the gods bringing
famine, floods, or drought. In this picture of the Palette of King Narmer, the Pharaoh is depicted
as larger than the other people in the relief. This size difference was to establish the authority and
power of the king. On one side of the Palette, King Narmer holds a fallen enemy by the hair, as he
raises his mace an emblem of kingship with the other hand. On the other side of the Palette, Narmer
appears in the highest register now wearing the red crown of Lower Egypt. (Janson s
