Reflection Paper On Theatre
Over the past couple of weeks, I became exposed to different aspects of theatre and learned more
about its true purposes. I originally wanted to join theatre to get out of my comfort zone and be able
to speak in front of a crowd without hesitation. This desire emerged from my constant worrying and
anxiety during class presentations, or any presentation in general. In the beginning of the school
year, I was ignorant when it came to theatre. I thought that it was just an actingclass with the
students following a script after script, but these past weeks had proved me wrong. Based on
what we ve done so far, the performances during this class stood out to me the most because it
made me realize that theatre is more than just acting. There were a variety of performances and
each one had different effects on me. The first performance I ve done in the class was a great
introduction to theatre for me. Each act had a group of about five people. We had to come up with
a skit that involved all of our character profiles. My team and I eventually came into consensus
with the setting being a courtroom and the conflict being a stolen book, where I was the victim.
Since I was the victim, I knew I had to keep the story going and that made me terribly nervous. I
also didn t wantto make a bad impression with my first ever performance because I m new. During
the performance, I was confident for a slight second, then that confidence morphed into tension. I
overthought everything and
Incongruity In American Culture
With the rise of the disabilities rights movement in American culture, controversy when disability
has been used in the context of humor has become more common. Many television shows are. In
2010, this animated show included a character with Down Syndrome in an episode. Former Vice
President candidate Sarah Palin responded to the episode saying, When is enough, enough? And
when are we willing to say, you know, some things just aren t really funny (Hubbard, 2010). Palin
assumed the character, Ellen, was an insult her son Trig (who has Down Syndrome) or any
individual who is living with Down Syndrome. But Andrea Fay Friedman, the actress who performs
the voiceover for Ellen and who has Down Syndrome herself, replied, Sarah Palin didn t even...

Incongruity Theory is one of the more common theories of humor. What makes a situation funny is
that there is something odd, abnormal or out of place, which we enjoy in some way (Morreall, 2010
p.65). A similar theory is used by Kenneth Burke, perspective by incongruity, to explain comedy. In
his theory, Burke names perspective by incongruity as a method for gauging situations by verbal
atom cracking wherein a word [that] belongs by custom to a certain category can be used in a
different category (Burke, 1937 p.308). When addressing any subject, if it is odd or seemingly out
of place then it is used to maximize production. In this case all words, attitudes, and meanings are
flexible and potentially transformative when employed in perspective by incongruity (Burke, 1937).
Outside of labeling something that is out of place in a humorous way, perspective by incongruity
can operate as a progressive lens for situations involving humor and disability by resisting stereotypes
and producing new meanings. In this article, I examine one kind of Burke s perspective by
incongruity the comic corrective in the context of humor surrounding differences of an individual

Prevalence Of Diabetes Among The Americans
Prevalence of Diabetes in Kuwait
Today, Diabetes happens to be the most challenging medical disorder existing in the world, with an
alarming rise in the number of individuals contracting and dealing with the same. Among the 10
countries worldwide, having the highest prevalence rate of Diabetes, Kuwait backs the ninth
position. Kuwait has an alarming 23.3% of prevalence of Diabetes and that is estimated to rise in
the next 10 years.1, 2
There are many contributing factors for the increasing prevalence of Diabetes among the natives of
Kuwait like drastic epidemiological and cultural changes, sedentary life style, unhealthy eating
habits, ageing, over weight and urbanization.2, 3 Studies reveal that the occurrence of Type II
Diabetes mellitus is also increasing among the younger individuals, mostly covering the ones
below 30 years of age.4 It was also found that 73.4% of the people with Diabetes are below 60
years of age , i.e. in their productive years, especially in Arab regions including Kuwait, which may
adversely affect the capabilities of individuals and the quality of life in the long run.36 Also, the
onset of Diabetes is characterized to be gradual, with around 30% of the patients presenting with
complications at the time of diagnosis5 and an asymptomatic time period of 10 years in which the
disease remains undetected.6, 7 Hence, Diabetes poses a huge burden over the economy as a
consequence of loss of productivity and cost of health treatments.36

Nitz House Research Paper
The Nitz House

The Nitz house can be found by traveling down a bumpy, dusty dirt road. A ditch full of
swimming muskrats runs alongside this road and railroad tracks split it in half separating two
counties. At the end of this road is a long, wavy, blacktop driveway that curves its way through the
trees leading up to the house. At this point the drive splits into two with the left side leading to
the garage and the right side leading past a totem pole, carved bears and lilac bushes on its way to
the two sheds. Small but thick woods engulf the property in such a way that it is easy to lose
oneself within it. Behind the home in the trees is a large, open expanse of green grass which
carpets the walk to the pond. Cattails curtain one end of the pond giving shelter to the ducks and
geese that call the pond their home. More trees fill in the landscape on the backside of the pond
giving a wonderful home to the majestic deer and many bunny rabbits that seem to play all day long.
The house is made of logs and fits the woodland aesthetic perfectly. It is as if this house was
always here, almost like it grew out of the ground like the oaks, pines, maples and cedars
surrounding it. Stepping into the foyer from the garage brings you to french doors that look out
toward the pond. Soft, carpeted steps lead to a large master bedroom, bathroom, and ... Show more

The back wall opposite the kitchen is laden with windows from top to bottom, the view behind the
house opening up like a landscape painting that one can become totally engrossed in. One may
find deer or other sorts of woodland creatures wandering through the back yard be it day or night,
filling up the greenery with their presence. A fieldstone fireplace with a stone hearth clambers up
the back wall of the living room meeting with the sloped ceiling. The kitchen bar seats four people
and backs up nicely to a cozy, round oak

Reformation In Sixteenth-Century
The societal order of countries usually have three distinct classes and the sixteenth century was no
different. These are the three classes that caused religious turmoil or counter reformation in sixteenth
century Europe. First, the common people aka the working class, they were very dissatisfied with
grandeur and display of wealth by the church and believed that its bishops and abbots that were
meant to represent them were part of the same group that oppressed them (Norton, p.77). So, they
found expression and understanding among the peasant rebellion, enabling them to become part of a
group that found disdain for the current social order. From this rebellion came a sect known as the
protestant social group Anabaptism (Norton, p.77). Second,

Callaway Golf Company History
Callaway Golf Company History

Callaway Golf Company CEO Ron Drapeau told CBSMarketWatch, We have become known as the
company that brings innovation to the game for the average golfer. We re not focused on the elite
professional players. It s been a very successful approach for us.
But that is not to say that Callaway clubs are spurned by professionals. By the end of the 2000
professional tour, Callaway Golf ranked as the most played manufacturer of drivers, fairway woods
and irons on the world s five major professional tours combined.
Best known for its Big Bertha, ERC II, C4, Hawk Eye VFT, and Steelhead drivers and fairway

With Ely Callaway back at the helm, Callaway Golf proceeded to introduce a new set of titanium
metal woods, and its low center of gravity tungsten injected titanium irons. The metal woods
reportedly gave the ball a more penetrating flight, while the irons facilitated long trajectory shots.
In February 2000, Callaway Golf introduced its much anticipated Rule 35 golf balls. Named after
the unofficial 35th Rule of Golf, which admonishes the player to enjoy the game, the balls superior
performance made them the Number 2 ball in usage, top 10 finishes and wins in the five major
professional tours in their first year in play.
In 2000, Callaway Golf announced that it would produce a new forged titanium driver. But with
the introduction of its so called ERC II Forged Titanium Driver later that year, Callaway Golf
suddenly found itself double bogeyed. Although the new driver was ruled eligible for play overseas
(it was actually rated the top driver in Japan and the number one driver on the Japan PGA tour), it
was ruled to be non conforming to the United States Golf Association s (USGA) limits on the
coefficient of restitution that is to say, its action was too spring like and the club was therefore
deemed unacceptable for play in tournament events where USGA Rules apply.
By mid 2002, the USGA had decided that the banned drivers would be legal for use by recreational
golfers but not for professionals until 2008, after which time they would again be
Steroetype Of Gen Xers
I am a member of the Gen X generation. Gen Xers are generally classified as independent,
preferring to work alone rather than as part of a team to accomplish our goals. We aren t lured by
small talk, and discussions about popular cultural topics, but desire to get the job done as quickly
and efficiently as possible. As a generation, we tend to be aggressive to influence the expediency
of accomplishing a task, and have no desire to rest until the work is finished. We have a solid
work ethic. I agree with this classification and fit this steroetype. I desire to accomplish a task,
accomplish it correctly, and sense appreciation for a job well done. I don t place as much
importance on getting along with people, though I do desire to be an effective
The Origin Of Australian Music
Australian Aborigines are native to Australia and have lived in a territory called the Arnhem Land or
northern Australia for almost forty thousand years. Some of the Aborigines live in government
housing today, while others still live among the land as their ancestors did. Aborigines are an ethnic
group that also has many religious beliefs. They believe in Animism which is the belief that living
creatures and the outside environment contain supernatural powers. Their culture and beliefs
resonate in their music. Their belief in Animism is reflected in the rhythms that they use that
originate in the environment. Another part of Australian music that is characteristic of that country
is the use of the didjeridu. This instrument has become a symbol of Australian music and has a rich
history in the ethnic music that the Aborigines play. It is also made and performed by these native
people in very unique ways. The history of Australian music would not be complete without
highlighting the importance of the didjeridu. Some believe that Aborigines have been playing the
didjeridu for up to forty thousand years. However, most historians believe that the didjeridu dates
back about fifteen hundred to two thousand years because of the cave art that the Aborigines have
left behind. These cave drawings consist of figures playing a didjeridu. The didjeridu is believed to
be first constructed in eastern Kimberly or northern Australia, and is also considered by some to be
