Emotional Child Abuse Essay
Emotional child abuse involves putting a child in very stressful and psychologically damaging
situations. Emotional abuse involves coercive, demeaning, or very distant behavior by a parent
or caretaker that interferes with a child s normal mental or social development. Harm to the child
may or may not be intended. Emotional abuse may consist of actions that hurt a child s well
being or failure to meet a child s emotional needs. Such actions or neglect on the part of a
caretaker can cause serious and lasting emotional, mental, or behavioral problems in a child. This
can affect the child s ability to engage in normal social experiences and develop as a healthy adult.

Making the child feel alone in the world.
Putting unreasonable standards or demands on a child.
Frightening, bullying, or verbally assaulting a child.

CAUSES
Emotional child abuse occurs at every social, economic, and educational level. It occurs in all
ethnic, cultural, and religious groups. Abuse often occurs over a long period of time. Emotional
child abuse may be more likely to occur in the following situations:
After an unplanned or difficult pregnancy, rape, or incest.
During stressful periods. This includes a family crisis, conflict between parents, unemployment, or a
family death.
If a child is born prematurely or has a serious illness or disability.
If the caretaker is dealing with stress from low income, substance abuse, long term health and mental
health problems, or crowded living conditions.
If the caretaker was a victim of abuse during childhood.
If the caretaker lacks social support and is socially isolated.
Caretakers may lack parenting skills and understanding of children s needs. They may make
unreasonable demands or hold unrealistic expectations of what the child can do. They may be very
critical of the child.

WARNING
Chiral Molecules Lab Report
All objects may be classified with a property called chirality. Chiral compounds are not
superimposable meaning that the mirror image of a compound can not be rotated/flipped onto the
original compound. There are some rules to identify if a compound is chiral or achiral. There are
chiral centers within these chiral compounds and they can be either R or S, there are also some
rules which are the Cahn Ingold Prelog rules that determine the molecules handedness (if they are R
or S).

Chirality is a property of individual molecules. If a molecule is chiral then it is a molecule that has
two enantiomeric forms. There are three test to identify for chiralitry. The first test is to draw the
mirror image of the molecule and see if the two molecules are the same or they are different. If it
is different then it is chiral and if they aren t the same then it is not chiral. The second test is when
the molecule has only one chiral center then the molecule is chiral. If the molecule has more than
one chiral center it is most likely chiral with the exception of meso compounds (meso molecules are
molecules that have two or more chiral centrals and the chiral center cancel each other out because
due to the symmetry of it. Meso molecule must have two or more chiral centers and have a plane of
symmetry). The third test is if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each group that is attached to the stereo center is given a priority according to its atomic number
(mass). Higher propriety is given to the substitutes with higher atomic numbers and the spherical
begins with the lowest atomic number. If isotopes of the same atom are involved the more mass one
takes higher priority. If two identical atoms are attached to the chiral center, the next atoms in the
two substitutes are examined. Moving outward from the chiral center, priority is given at the first
point where the substitutes
Why I Want To Pursue A Bachelor s Degree
Fear of the unknown is humankind s greatest fear of all. Sienkiewicz understood that knowledge is
power and to overcome the fear of helplessness we must seek out the answers. We build shelters of
ingenuity to weather the storms and hurricanes, we shed light into darkness with torches of
knowledge, and we fend off the lions with spears of intellect. When it is all said and done, educated
individuals are better prepared to navigate fearof the unknown with new found insight and
confidence.

As an information security professional my goal is to ease fears of the unknown and provide
assurance that confidentiality, integrity, and availability lessens risks that counter continuity. With
insight and confidence I will serve as a guide for the speediest acceptable recovery from disasters
when they occur. This is my purpose for pursuing the Master of Science in Information Assurance at
Davenport University. As is evident with the College of Technology Faculty, my mission is one of
achieving expertise and continually questing for knowledge in the complex and evolving world that
is informatics security.

From an educational perspective, my background is information security focused. I graduated with a

Comparison Between Curtis Hixon Park And Kiley Gardens
Looking at Architecture

My family and I commonly go to Curtis Hixon Park and Kiley Gardens, they are extremely family
friendly and very welcoming. The specific day I went to observe the parks was on Tuesday, July
25th around 4 pm. I sat in the parks for an hour, analyzing the architecture and people who walked
by. From the time i sat on a bench observing I noticed many people walked by, all whom were from
different demographics. Curtis Hixon is a great family park, it has an open field and a playground,
which is equipped with modern toys that aren t typically seen in regular playgrounds. If you walk
just a step away from the playground there will be misty fountains, and at the front of the park there
are additional water fountains. In Front of the the park there is a gorgeous view of Tampa Bay, where
you will commonly see the crew team from UT or private boats just roaming around. The Kiley
Gardens are less busy than Curtis Hixon, but that s simply because it has different elements. The
Kiley Gardens provide a peaceful serenity on an elevated platform to easily catch a view of the bay.
What is the significance and value of the park and garden? Why is it important that they exist in
downtown Tampa s urban environment? I ll be answering these questions by firstly analyzing the
architecture in these spaces, second by looking at the atmosphere in the parks, and thirdly
discovering their unique qualities. We must ask the question: what was the architect trying to tell
Analysis Of The Movie Glory
The ending part of Glory is about men going to battle against the Confederates. The six main
characters in the movie are Thomas Searles, Jupiter Shots, Trip, Rawlins, Colonel Robert Gould
Shaw, and Cabot Forbes. They battle at Fort Wagner in South Carolina at night because there
uniforms are blue. The Union and Confederates start off by shooting at each other. All the men of
Colonel Robert go on the other side of Fort Wagner to find cover so they wouldn t get shot at. Trip
and Jupiter came to save Colonel Robert from almost getting shot by the Confederates. Trip ran in
front of Robert so Robert couldn t take the shot from his stomach so Trip would get shot in the
stomach. Jupiter was shooting the men so they wouldn t kill Robert or Trip.
Persuasive Essay On Zero Tolerance
Back in the 1990 s, the Zero Tolerance Policy was created in response to the fear of crimes and
school shootings at the time. In theory, it was a great idea to create this, however, in more recent
times it is said that Under zero tolerance policies, harsh punishment applies regardless of
circumstances (Gjetten). In other words, no matter how small or childish the problem is, there will
be zero tolerancefor it and a harsh punishmentwill be given. In recent times, parents have been
infuriated at the fact their child was severely punished over small issues like disrespecting a
teacher, accidentally hitting someone with a ball, or even running too fast outside. The Zero
Tolerance Policy, although helpful at first, has become a nuisance to many and is seen as a little
too extreme now. Zero tolerance policies mean that suspension is used as a consequence of
infractions ranging from severe (such as weapon possession) to minor (defiance or chronic
tardiness). (Berwick). The substantial problem parents and students alike have found with the
policy is the fact that you can be suspended for just about anything that could upset or annoy
someone else. Regardless if you are an outstanding student or a troublemaker, you will be
suspended or even suffer expulsion for any disruptive behavior and minor scuffle. Having a zero
tolerance policy in your school is not a bad thing, although, if it becomes too extreme or despotic
there must be something done to fix this issue with the system. In many cases such as Ahmed
Mohamed, who brought an explosive device to his high schoolin Texas, zero tolerance will easily
deal with the problem and he would receive a very harsh punishment. Now kids are being
suspended for eating pop tarts into a shape of a gun or giving their best friend an unprescribed pain
reliever (Tylenol for example) to help her menstrual cramps. About 75 percent of schools have zero
tolerance policies for everything from bringing guns on campus to sharing cough drops to having a
bad attitude towards teachers. (Gillespie). Most schools having zero tolerance means any attempt to
change the policy or be rid of it entirely, will have an effect on all the students and teachers attending.

Compare And Contrast Nevada Constitution And Us Constitution
Constitutions are ordinances set forth by a legislative body to establish the foundations of a
government. The United States of America wrote their constitution to set the rules in place for the
branches of government, their separate powers, and the limitations of the federal government. Since
the United States operates under a federalist government, each state is responsible for establishing
their own governments. There arise the states constitutions. There are inevitable differences between
the content of a constitutionof a state versus that of the federal government. In this essay, we will be
comparing the constitution of the state of Nevada and that of the United Statesof America. There are
differences in the branches of government,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Constitution are called the Bill of Rights, they outlined the civil liberties as a citizen of the
United States. Civil liberties are the restrictions of powers the government has on the citizens. For
example, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, no government established religion, and the
right to a jury trial are all examples of liberties the government cannot deny its citizens. According
to the Supreme Court case Barron v. Baltimore in 1833, none of the provisions in the Bill of
Rights applied to the states, they only applied to the federal government and their restrictions
(Bowers 43). However, the authors of Nevada s 1864 constitution included their own Bill of Rights
named the Declaration of Rights. The Declaration of Rights included all of the same principles that
the Bill of Rights did such as the ones listed above. There are two significant differences between the
two sets of amendments. For one, the Nevada constitution requires compensation before the
government can seize private property, the U.S. constitution does not have the same requirement.
Second, civil cases in Nevada only require a three fourths vote to make a decision, federal civil
cases require a unanimous decision. However, in criminal cases, both Nevada and the federal
government require a unanimous
Analysis Of The Poem Mending Wall

Composition II

Mending Wall a poem by Robert Frost seems to take place in countryside estate. Main theme in the
poem is, whether the wall is necessary to have the good relation between neighbors. Narrator seems
to think the wall is not so necessary as it separates him and his neighbor. However, he does find
talking to his neighbor about the wall. but does provide a sense of privacy which is not bad. Frost is
separating habit and and tradition on one side and logics on another. Frost is drawing tradition on
one side and logic and reason on one side. He says that sometimes it is unnecessary to put an extra
efforts on something that is useless. And maybe not, fences does not good ... Show more content on

Neighbors tend to repair the wall every spring just to find it destroyed next year.
Despite of the fact that narrator is one of those neighbor who likes the wall, it is narrator who first
reminds his neighbor to repair the wall. Moreover, the narrator walks along the point in spring to heal
the damaged wall that has been done by hunters. Narrator is more active than his neighbor finding
evidence in (line 12) I let my neighbor know beyond the hill . Both the work very hard to build
the wall depicting from We wear our fingers rough with handling them [stones]. The poet gives
flawless idea how this separating walls unite two neighbour. The narrator is skeptical of this
tradition, he is unable to understand the need of wall where there is no livestock on the property
only the pine trees and apple trees. Both of them decides to walk along the wall and pick up the
stones from their respective sides. Some stones are in shape of bread loaves and some like round
balls.
In this poem, neighbor repeats the phrase, Good fences make good neighbor . Narrator tries to
explain his neighbor that there is no need to build the wall and condemn for being old fashioned and
maintaining the tradition so stringently. Neighbor believes that rebuilding the wall, strengthens the
bond between them and helps each person to respect the each other. Narrator sees the job of
rebuilding of a wall as a game but the neighbor takes this job more
Moral Ambiguity In Billy Budd
We have dealt with an almost excessive amount of moral ambiguity throughout the novels we
have read in AP Literature. It is a highly common theme among writers to try and make their reader
as confused as possible in as few words as possible, or so it seems. In the novel Billy Budd, by
Herman Melville we meet a characternamed Captain Vere, a respectable man, and captain of the
Bellipotent. Captain Vere is faced with the decision of upholding the law upon his ship, and giving
proper punishment to a man, Billy Budd, upon his ship, or or pardoning this questionably innocent
man. Billy Budd killed a man upon the Bellipotent, and whether it was accidental or not there are
people who believe he should be punished, and people who believe he shouldn t. In the end,
Captain Vere ended up having him hung as his final punishment, and now we are faced with the
question Was Vere morally right in making his decision? . I believe that he was completely correct
and right in his decision making, and here s why; One argument as to why he made a... Show more

While this argument is stronger, it still lies on a weak foundation and can ultimately be
disassembled. When he put on the coat, and swore his allegiance to the King and his navy, he
waived his right to put his morality before the law. If this was a case of, and again I will go back
to the bar fight, where he held no allegiance to any specific laws, then the case would be completely
different. But in this case, he is wearing the buttons of the King, and therefore must respect the fact
that his morality comes after legality. So it wasn t a matter Captain Vere not consulting his moral
self, which I genuinely believe that he did, but instead he was simply following the rules and
guidelines that he swore
