Lev Vladimirovich Kuleshov and The Moscow Film School Essay
When film first started gaining popularity, it want s as obvious that be connecting two different
images, we would assume their relation. Film simply document events that occurred, it wasn t until
the enterprising pioneers of early cinema took hold that they began to manipulate their audience into
following a story their way and feeling it in those exact steps. Lev Vladimirovich Kuleshov a Soviet
filmmaker and filmtheorist in the 1920s who taught at and helped establish the world s first film
school, the Moscow Film School. He was one of the very first film theorists and one the great
pioneers of early editing regarded amongst worldwide filmmaker and he is famous for what became
known as Soviet Montage.

This is order to show how editing changes viewer s interpretations of images and how film uses
psychology. Kulsehov experimented with this and achieved the Kulsehov theory. This technique is
known as juxtaposition, one the most effective tools on cinema just by juxtaposing a variety of
concepts one can get a funny joke across, or complete lie across the audience.

Kuleshov coined the term collective geography to describe cinema ability to link entirely unrelated
material into coherent sequences. This discovery provided filmmakers with arms of varies
techniques to manipulate the audience but in this they also recognized the audience has an active in
creating meaning. Kuleshov was not just concerned with editing; he believed that the key to
effective filmmaking was in organization.

In addition to his theoretical work, Kulsehov was also a director of many feature films and he was a
leader in Soviet montage theory, which was an approach to understanding and creating cinema that
relies heavily upon editing. Some consider Kulsehov the father of Soviet Cinema, having been the
first to publish about the formal possiblites of the medium and the power of montage editing.

A montage is French for assembly or edit, it involves pieces of footage to make a film. During the
Russian Revolution Kuleshov documented the war on the Eastern Front in documentary on the Red
Front in the 1920s. Around that time, Kuleshov was deeply impressed and
My Experience In Music
I wanted to tell you about my experience in the world of music and how it helped me express
myself and I started to find my talents as well as learn who I was and to not let bullying stop me
from doing what I loved to do. I used to think that I did not have great skills in the music field. Even
though everyone in my family is a musicperson I did not learn or get the skills like they did. But I
did not want to take gym because I got teased a lot for it. I was bullied a lot in school so wanted to
try something new in middle school and my only other option was band and even though I was
teased for being in band and being called a band geek it s a step that started to change my
experience in life and how I interacted with others and my confidence to try new things and have
confidence in myself and to trust myself. I was in the 6th grade and I was just trying to figure out
who I was. I started out looking at all the instruments they had. Then the band director had us try
several of the instruments. Well let s just say I did not like the trumpet, flute my hands could not fit
well on that and most girls played that as well so I wanted something different. I was then asked to
try the tuba which is was not happy about but I did but my teacher then showed me the bass clarinetit
was different but smaller than the tuba and bigger then the flute or trumpet. I knew i did not want
to do a brass instrument I told him that I did not feel like that it was me. But I m so glade he gave me
Majoring In Business
The area of study that I am drawn to is business. I remember in elementary school when my
teacher asks me what I would like to be, my first responds was to become a teacher. All through
Elementary school I keep up with this dream that I would one day become a teacher until I
realized that I did not like kids as much. In middle school, I was encouraging to become a lawyer.
A lawyer was something that I thought would fit for me because I am good at debating different
topics. With the help of research, I learned that become a lawyer required a lot of writing. Writing is
something that I struggle with which cause me to doubt my potential of become a great lawyer. My

compete with someone that just spent 2 years in college. One of the awards of receiving a

The Core Competencies Of The Australis Aquaculture Company
Core competencies shown competitiveness and the different qualities of the enterprise. Core
competencies are formed over time through a process of learning, accumulating a systematic and
organized on how to exploit the resources and different capabilities (Zott, 2002). According to the
theory, the core competencies of the business is built when ensuring simultaneously four standards:
valuable, taking a rare, difficult to imitate and non substitutable capabilities (Newbert, 2008). In
particular, capabilities come into core competencies when bring a certain added value to customers,

The value chain is understood as a series of activities linked vertically to create and increase value
for our customers (Leiponen and Helfat, 2009). Understanding these issues is important because the
firm earn above average returns only when the value it creates is greater than the cost incurred to
create that value (Kasper, Mühlbacher and Müller, 2008). Today s competitive landscape demands
that firms examine their value chains in a global rather than a domestic only context (Haworth,
2013). When using their unique core competencies to create unique value for customers that
competitors cannot duplicate, firms have established one or more competitive advantages (Saliola
and Zanfei, 2009). Competitive Advantages (strengths) of the business comes from many separate
activities in the design, manufacture, marketing, distribution, so on. Each of these activities
contributes to reduce the relative cost of enterprise or create a basis differentiation, thereby can

How Does Electrolyte Affects The Body
Electrolytes are a very important part in our lives, whether we know it or not. My topic that I chose
is on the effectiveness of electrolyte drinks and athletic performance. It is understandable that
hydration is key, and that electrolytes really help the body. But sometimes people just want to know
more about things. So, in this essay, we will divulge into the deeper understandings or electrolytes
and their affect on our body. Firstly, we need to understand exactly what an electrolyteis. The
scientific definition of an electrolyte is that it is a chemical compound that conducts electricity by
changing into ions when melted or dissolved into a solution. That might seem kind of complicated,
but just thinking of elemental compounds such as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example again would be like an acid that can dissolve in water. If it creates some sort of an
electrical current in a substance, it is an electrolyte. In the body, however, electrolytes are minerals in
your blood and other body fluids that carry an electric charge ( Disabled World ). Common
electrolytes found in the body include Calcium, Phosphorous, Chloride and Magnesium.
Electrolytes are what allow a cell to do miscellaneous necessities, such as generating energy,
maintaining stability in cell walls, etc. They can do this by generating electricity, contracting
muscles, moving fluids from one place or another, etc. Electrolytes are very important in helping
the body function. They allow the body to work and function very well. So what happens when
you don t have enough electrolytes? Many things can happen, and they aren t that good. Sodium
imbalance is probably one of the biggest problems. A number of things can happen here, including
hyponatremia. If you break down the word, this word does not seem to complicated to define.
Hypo means to have too little of something. Natr is sodium, and emia is in the blood. So, this is
when the body does not have enough sodium in the blood
When Abibatou Diallo Was First Starting School, Her Name
When Abibatou Diallo was first starting school, her name stopped being so hard to pronounce.
Her name stopped being what she identified at all. Her teacher took her name and with no
objections from Abibatou began calling her Abby. Thinking about being called Abibatou, just fills
Abby with a weird feeling now. Not a single person has called her by her full name in such a long
time, that it no longer holds any meaning to her. Abby s name is just one example of how she has
been forced to become Americanized since she began her education. You see Abby is African born
through and through. She has the richest brown skin, deepest brown eyes, and kinkiest black hair.
She is the epitome of African beauty, curves and all. It is a shame that since... Show more content on

Abby strongly believes that if her life was switched she would not be the reserved anti social
bookworm that she is. She would not have devoted mostly all her time to school work. She would
have lived just a little bit more. Abby managed to be in gifted classes from first grade all the way
through high school. When entering high school, she took advanced placement classes almost
every year, and ended up becoming valedictorian of her class. School was her life, it was what she
was brought to America to do. School was what was ingrained within her that she had to do,
because it would be selfish if she did not. There was so much pressure to succeed, for her sister
was not given the opportunities that she had received. Abby has never struggled with school, she
has always been a gifted student. She loves to write, she loves to read, she loves school, but she did
not like all the underlying pressure that was imposed upon her.
If you knew Abby you could see that who she was, was more than just being a student. While a
dimple filled smile that reached ear to ear, and a bubbly spirit, it is hard to not want to be her
friend. This may be why she is so frustrated with spending so much time on school. She never had
a lot of time to show people her true colors. She was always too busy writing. As mad as Abby can
be for not getting that true social aspect she wanted, it is subsided with her pure love for writing. It
has always just been
Exhibition Review – Dale Chihuly, the Halcyon Gallery Essay
Exhibition Review Dale Chihuly, the Halcyon Gallery

Dale Chihuly is an American artist, born September 20th, 1941 who is known for his glass
sculptures. One of his most well known pieces is the blue and green glass sculpture hanging in the
front entrance of the Victoria Albert Museum in London (figure 1). His work has included over 200
museum collections worldwide, and I visited his exhibition in the Halcyon Gallery on New Bond
Street in London on the 23rd of January 2012.

The entire exhibition was made up of glass sculptures fitting into several different genres created
by the artist; for example Seaforms , Persians , both created in the 1980 s, and Fiori , which he
created in the 2000 s. Chihuly explored a variety of glass ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the pieces were 3D, standing out from the wall, interesting coloured shadows and highlights
were created with the lighting on the white walls. The viewers could walk beneath the pieces to
view the underneath of each bowl like disc, and see the detail of different coloured glass swirled
into the piece. The curving edges of the discs created a natural feel to the piece, softening it.
Another part of the exhibition that I found visually stimulating were the Basket themed pieces,
created in the 1970 s, as I thought their smooth edges and insides captured and reflected the lights
really effectively (figures 8 and 9). I also really liked the multiple baskets stacked inside one
another, showing how Chihuly can handcraft the basket shapes on a variety of scales. The lip
wrap on each basket is often a contrasting colour, developed from the tradition of Venetian
glassmaking, and is a trademark of Chihuly s work. I feel the bold colour lip wraps help to draw
the viewer s eye into the centre of the baskets, revealing the smaller baskets within.
I really liked the contrast in the colour of the two chandelier pieces in the windows of the Halcyon
Gallery (figures 10 and 11). The deep red and blues within the Cranberry and Clear Chandelier
and the Dusky Sky Chandelier draw the attention of passers by, encouraging you to step closer and
view the intricacies of each handcrafted piece of the two chandeliers. I feel they were the ideal
pieces of work to advertise the

Morrie first met Mitch, Mitch was young and lively and had dreams of being a musician; however,
these dreams were left to rest not long after he entered the real world, realizing just how difficult the
life of an artist would be. On the contrary spectrum, his wife Janine never
Canada During the Post-War Period
The post war time was a period where major changes were occurring. After being involved in two
international conflicts, Canada was ready to reestablish their economy. During this time, Canada
had started working on ways to become stronger and reputable. It is evident that Canada had
matured through the post war era. Canada s economic progress left a positive impact on the growth
of the country as consumerism became popular, and economic ties with America became stronger.
Moreover, the removal of racial and ethical barriers contributed to Canadian social affairs such as
the huge wave of immigration and the baby boom. The Canadian government also had become more

surprise, Canada was overflowing with possibilities of industries. Every part of Canada had a
different potential. For example, the eastern part was supplying raw materials to the United
States, such as iron ore, nickel and copper. By 1960, Ontario was producing almost 60% of
Canada s metal output. Western Canada made a discovery of the abundance of oil and gas (Aitken

into a country based on industries, and products. The baby boom and increase in immigration
allowed for the extensive prosperity in Canada. The post war experience allowed the federal
government to remove ethical and racial barriers in immigration. Before 1961, more than 90% of

Language In Coates s Between The World And Me
No matter your race, reading and living within Between the World and Me is a visceral experience.
Coates intelligent employment of racially targeted inclusive language, personal anecdotes about his
life in Baltimore, and potent anaphora emphasizes his reminder to not forget the historical struggle
of protecting the black body. Coates alludes; A mountain cannot be a mountain if there is nothing
below (105) and to him, the blacks are the below .

Coates employs inclusive language in the form of we the blacks. The essential idea in this
however, is the exclusion of whites. He says, Our moment is too brief. Our bodies are too precious.
And you are here now, and you must live and there is so much out there to live for... (147) Through
this significant assertion, Coates is not endeavoring to be relatable to whites, he is attending to the
unabridged African American community, and most importantly, his son. The immediate effect of

This ingenious adhibition of anaphora emphasizes Coates message to not forget the plunder of
black bodies . The effect and importance of the repetition is to underscore the immediacy and
prominence of Coates advice. In addition, it also displays how often these topics come up in
Coates s life. He says, I recall learning these laws clearer than I recall learning my colors and
shapes, because these laws were essential to the security of my body. (24) My body, your body, our
body, it doesn t matter. All reiterations get the point across.

Through these unambiguous rhetorical devices, Coates message is received loud and clear: the
plunder of African American bodies has and will continue to occur until something radical is done
about it. Just last week, three more backs dead in shootings and Coates relevant letter remains

Building Codes Analysis
The practice of building codes is to ensure the safety, structural stability and health. Through the
years many codes have been imposed to fix problems have occurred in the construction of the
building or after it been constructed. Building codes are interpenetrated different depending on the
location it s being built. This is due to local officials of the area who have the power to change
codes or arrange than to meet the requirement for the area. The reason every country, state, and the
city have their own way to interpenetrate codes differently is because the buildingmust adapt to the
surrounding area. When the architectbeing designing a set of drawing not only does he or she has
to meet all the requirement for the building itself but the requirement needed to build in the area.
For example, a building in Colorado and a building in Florida will have different codes in place
that give the building many characteristics. One code that would be different is frost line this
mean how depth the ground doesn t freeze in the winter. Since Colorado tend to be very cold in
winter reaching low temperature the frost line will be deeper than Florida that stays warm all most
all year. According to Allen, E., Iano, J. (2013). Local code officials regulate accredited laboratories

resulted in drinking at private venues with a lack of supervision where teens are more susceptible
to drive a motor vehicle while under the influence or engage in other dangerous behaviors because
of the lack of supervision. If the drinking age was 18, they would be able to drink in a safer

While many advocate the need for a lower drinking age, some are strongly opposed to lowering
the drinking age since the brain does not fully develop at 18 and a 21 year old has a much more
