Juvenile Criminal Justice Is Much Like The Art Of Parenting
Retribution and Rehabilitation in Hopes for Reintegration The topic of juvenile criminal justice is
much like the art of parenting. The main concern is figuring out how to deter the child from the
same action without letting them get away with too much and not crushing their spirits. SUCH AS
when a child goes beyond the set boundaries for him while playing outside which leads to hurting
another child, the child should be disciplined to be deterred from crossing those boundaries again,
but that discipline shouldn t scare them away from ever going outside or playing again. There is a
large range of beliefs on what types of punishmentshould be given to juvenile criminals depending on
their age and crime. The requirements of retribution are different across the United States but that
doesn t mean it s not a big issue. {Maybe a statistic here? This paper is an accumulation of various
sources that revolve around rehabilitating juvenile criminals and adjusting the juvenile justice system
and prevention programs through researcher, Richard A. Mendal s five suggestions. Juvenile
criminals should be responsibly punished for their crime but be able to go through rehabilitation
with the goal to reintegrate into society again.
{This paragraph is basically a summary of the whole paper, is that okay to keep?} Rehabilitation is a
complex issue that must involve thought through, analyzed, practical goals, techniques, and
responsibilities within the juvenile justice system, community,
Color Red Psychology
Since I was a child I have always loved the color red. Whenever my parents would ask me what
color I wanted for various objects, or theme color for a party, I would always choose red. Until
coming into this class, I never gave much thought to what the color red represents or why I have
always liked it. I have read studies about the physiological and psychological impact that colors
have upon individuals, and I have observed the effect of certain colors upon individuals, and I ve
found that my basic reaction to certain colors are different than most people.

For example, since red is the longest wavelength it is perceived by most people as a powerful color,
which to them represents energy, strength and excitement. It grabs peoples attention, and hence it
effectiveness in traffic lights. For many people red is perceived as a demanding and aggressive
color. On the other hand, the color blue causes the opposite reactions as the color red. For most
people, blue is perceived as peaceful and tranquil, and physiologically this color causes the body to
produce calming chemicals, which is why it is often used as a color of paint in bedrooms. ... Show

I don t mean courage of the kind that would allow a person to rush into a burning building to
rescue a child, but instead the kind of courage that is required to face personal adversity. I
remember on time in life when I was in the hospital suffering from a major head injury, and I was
feeling very low and defeated because I was facing long months of physical therapy. It was at this
time that my mother brought me a bouquet of red fuchsias. Latter as I gazed upon them I was
filled with the love and personal strength of my mother which helped me to find the courage I
needed to face my difficult time of recovery. Today when I m facing difficult situations in my life I
will wear the color red, which helps me focus on the personal courage I
The Origin Of The Word Nano
1.1 Introduction
Nanotechnology, the term derived from the Greek word nano, meaning dwarf, applies the principles
of engineering, electronics, physical and material science, and manufacturing at a molecular or
submicron level. The materials at nanoscale could be a device or a system or supramolecular
structures. Earlier Albert Franks defined it as that area of science and technology where dimensions
and tolerances are in the nano range. Nanomaterials are the most promising tool in nanotechnology
that posses very unique size dependent properties that makes them superior and indispensable in
many areas of human activity. In recent years, synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles have
received considerable attention because of their distinctive properties and potential uses in various
fields like microelectronics, photocatalysis, magnetic devices, biotechnology and biomedical fields.
Various nanoformulations have already been studied and applied as drug delivery systems with great
success and they still have greater potential for many applications like drugs, antibiotics, protein
delivery, imaging techniques, anti tumour therapy and as a carrier for Blood Brain Barrier (BBB)
crossing (Yezhelyev, 2006; Chen, 2013; Naahidi, 2013). Nanoparticles provide massive advantages
regarding drug targeting, controlled release and can be combined with diagnosis and other imaging
therapy, hence, emerge as one of the major tools in nanomedicine (Shrivastav, 2013; Jain, 2012).

Sweetheart Of The Song Tra Bong Analysis
Curt Lemon dies (guess everyone who dies has a color related name?), which leads O Brien to
tell us that truth is flexible in war. The things that happen in war are so crazy that literal truth can
t possibly capture them. Only emotional truth, or story truth, can, and O Brien uses it liberally.
Tim kills a guy on a trail and feels guilty about it, so he makes up a back story for the kid in order
to make the victim more human. Rat Kiley tells us the creepiest story in the world, Sweetheart of
the Song Tra Bong, in which a good down home American girl is seduced by the Vietnam War into
becoming a creepy jungle killer. Later, Kiowa drowns in a field that s literally full of poop, and we
start to talk about blame. Then, in Good Form, O Brien
The Nurturing College Professor Essay
The Nurturing College Professor

Nurturing behavior regarding teaching is defined in both negative and positive ways when
addressing the effectiveness of the teacher and his or her impact and influence on student learning.
Helping a student become a better and more involved learner is an important issue when talking
about nurturing teaching because it exists as one of the ultimate goals of this kind of encouraging
and supportive teacher. This teacher wants to see his or her students as engaged as possible with the
material.ìÖwe would expect students who are really learning to be asking question and exploring
connections between their personal lives and the course material in their writings and informal
classroom discussionî (Grauerholz ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A nurturing professor may, at this point, be posited as one that creates a ìsupportive and acceptingî
environment for his or her student and that engages in ìsituations where conflict does ariseî
(Jarratt).Susan Jarrattís concept of nurturing behavior is one that combines a non threatening
environment with a discursive and interactive one. In another discussion of the importance and
effectiveness of nurturing, Margo Culley et. al concurs with this definition. They call for a ìfusion of
affect and intellectî and the practice of being ìdeeply engaged with [her] students yet committed to a
critical observation of this very phenomenon.î Jarratt and Culley et. al are engaging with this concept
of nurturing teaching as positive and illustrating what the practice of it should entail. They both,
however, conduct their research within the context of the feminist classroom and affirm that this
nurturing teaching is important for women teachers to posses, especially those teaching
women.Jarratt and Culley et. al are embracing a pedagogy began by early women teachers and
bringing it into the context of a modern classroom. This study of the overriding benefits along with
effectiveness and importance of nurturing teaching will, however, illustrate how this feminist idea
may be and ultimately must be brought to professor both male and female in all different classroom
contexts in order to create a better
Male Underachievment Ia
Introduction. Male Underachievement continues to be a major part of academics, not only in the
Caribbean but worldwide. It has been heavily encouraged through negative stereotypes as well as
media. For example in some television series, the protagonist is shown as being too cool for school
and in some cases has failing grades. The problem of maleunderachievement is becoming more
prevalent within our society today, and can be seen as result due to a vichyssoise of problems such
as peer pressure, negative portrayal by the media and lack of proper upbringing in homes. This
problem continues to be detrimental to our society, not only in terms of the short term but also in the
long run. The best solution for the lack of performance in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore we can see that in Trinidad the marginalization of the father figure role is leading to not
only an increase in male underachievement but also eventually an increase in other social problems
such as crime.

Singh S. (2007) sees underachievement as occurring even at higher levels of education. For instance
she has noted that females have yet again outshone males with 65 percent of the first degrees and
63 percent of higher degrees being secured by females. This presents a worrying situation as it
means that there would be less men who are educated and employable within the country, what this
could lead to is an eventual labour vacuum, due to the inability to fill positions. This she argues is
based mainly on cultural factors, which must be addressed. If this is not done, the performance of
males may continue to spiral downwards leading to disastrous results.

data that has been collected by the researcher themselves, while secondary sources refers to all data
collected from through another person s work. The population surveyed consisted of twenty (20)
teenagers, who were chosen at random. This was done to eliminate any bias. The purpose of this

Andromeda And Zeus Research
Some names for this constellation are: the Chained Lady or the Chained Woman. It is also known
as Persea where she was Perseus s wife. Yet another name is Cepheis since she was Cepheus s
daughter. I chose this constellation because Andromeda was an Ethiopian princess. I don t know
why but this story always fascinated me because I love Greek and Roman Gods and myths.

Perseus met Andromeda when he was flying home on his enchanted shoes after he had just got done
killing Medusa. He saw her chained to rocks waiting for a sea monster devoured her. While she was
awaiting her doom, the vain queen was bragging about how her daughter, Andromeda was more
beautiful than the Nereids. This angered them and they went complaining to Poseidon and he
Comparing Anselm And St. Thomas Aquinas Cur Deus
In the Cur Deus Homo and the Compendium of Theology, Anselm of Canterbury and St. Thomas
Aquinas present their reasoning as to why it was necessary for the incarnation and death of Jesus
Christ. Although both theologians agree that it was imperative for God to become incarnate as
human in order to save the human race from sin, Anselm and St. Thomas Aquinas disagree on the
status of the human race and the nature of God. In the Cur Deus Homo, Anselm portrays humans as
lowly, indebted vassals to a wrathful God. On the contrary, St. Thomas Aquinas portrays humans as
damaged beings who, through atonement, can join a merciful God in His kingdom. Much like the
lord and vassal relationships of the Middle Ages, Anselm of Canterburyargues that humans owe God
a debt of honor. In Anselm s theology, every single one of God s rational creatures owes their entire
physical and mental being to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thomas Aquinas theology agreed with Anselm on why God had to incarnate into man in order to
save humans, his portrayal of humans and God is a stark contrast to Anselm s blatantly
disrespectful humans and justice seeking, verging on vengeful, God. In his Compendium of
Theology, St. Thomas Aquinas states that in the plan of divine Providence it was decreed that
human nature, which had been ravaged in the manner described, should be restored. It could not be
admitted to perfect beatitude unless it were freed of its defilement (Compendium of Theology, ch.
199, pp. 255). Unlike the humans in Anselm s theology, St. Thomas Aquinas paints them as people
who were created to reach happiness with God by God, but are unable to because they are tainted
by original sin. Also, unlike the Anselm s portrayal of God, St. Thomas Aquinas portrayal of God is
merciful and wants humans to reach eternal salvation. This God wants to restore humanity from sin
in order for them to gain true happiness by living with their Creator in harmony. However, in very
similar theology to

Implementing Bar Code Technology in a New Electronic Health Record System

The United States based Institute of Medicine (IOM) reported in 1999 that at least 44,000 people,
and perhaps as many as 98,000 people, die in hospitals each year as a result of medical errors that
could have been prevented... (Anonymous, 2015). When faced with more than a singular sentinel
event related to medication administration errors, the organization must begin to look into why this
happened and what can be done to prevent any more errors from occurring. Implementing new bar
code technology into a new electronic health record (EHR) system can dramatically reduce the
number of errors made by healthcare providers. In order to implement a new system; several steps
must occur. An informatics nurse plays a vital role in not only the design of new program interfaces,
but in developing educational programs for the new systems. Not all studies have shown that
implementing a new bar coding system can be beneficial to healthcare providers, though.
Assessment and Framework Assessing the situation is the first step in implementing a new system.
Knowing where the errors have occurred is a must in knowing what needs improved. In this instance,
there have been two sentinel events surrounding the usage of the current electronic health record
(EHR) and medication administration.
Pros And Cons Of Halfway Houses
A halfway house that is fully functioning offers several pros and cons to nearby neighborhoods. It
calculating present can be defined in social and financial terms. However, I would not support a
half way house being opened in my neighborhood. In order for one to understand my point of
view and meaning of half way houses, I must first dissect how these dwellings can support or
oppose a community lifestyle. One major concern of a half way house being opened in a
neighborhood is safe. When a halfway house is located in a surrounding area there is a chance of
insecurity among potential homeowners. Half way houses provide a place of residence for
individuals that have or struggled with major problems including mental illnesses or drug abuse. This

If we dissect a hypothetical situation in which a halfway house is being occupied with
recovering drug addicts, how can we be certain that the home is going to be supervised properly?
However, residents of the halfway house are not always going to be under direct supervision. For
example, if a resident decides that they no longer want to be there. They have the opportunity to
escape with very little effort. This confinement is not as easy to accomplish with a judicial
institution. These offenders can become a hazard and dangerous to others due to their extreme
behavior as they seek out for drugs, or trying to run away from capture. Between January 2008
and March 2009, there were 201 escaped offenders from a halfway house resident according to the
New Jersey Today. This is an average of one escape every two days over a fifteen month time
frame. These escapes were associated with seven out of the twenty five privately run halfway houses
in Trenton, New Jersey. An obstacle, such as this, proves that the instability of halfway houses is
lacking in view of management. Furthermore, halfway house programs sometimes reflect a corrupt
system that awards contracts on the basis of political favoritism rather than the ability to reduce
recidivism. Halfway house agreements are sometimes seen as a way for government officials to
reward political backers and campaign contributors. Unfortunately, not all halfway
Causes Of The Long Parliament
Long Parliament was called upon by Charles I, but technically Long Parliament created itself by
imposing an act that would only allow parliament to be dissolved by a parliamentary vote. Long
Parliament was being led by John Pym whose primary goal was to correct troubles in the
kingdom, especially acts of treason because of the recent Bishops War. When considering potential
acts of treason, it was speculated that Lord Strafford, who was a member of the King s Privy
Council, had treasonous intentions. After investigating the situation, Pym s accusations fell through,
but it did come to light that the King s Privy Council was encouraging Charles I to act without
parliament. Specifically, Lord Strafford told the king Sir, you have now done your duty, and your
subjects have failed theirs; and therefore, you are absolved from the rules of government... you
have an army in Ireland, with which you may reduce this kingdom. Charles I was being encouraged
to use Irish forces to remove parliament, in order to restore his power. This began the dispute
between Long Parliamentand Charles I, over who controlled the military, that began the English Civil
war. Long Parliament implemented the Militia Ordinance, which declared that parliament was
responsible for appointing new officers instead of the king.
By the time Sir William Waller wrote to parliament Charles I and Long Parliament were deeper into
war, and the Parliamentarians were quickly losing because of their militia system. Sir
Self Esteem Essay
Can self esteem really engender success, or does it induce the well being of individuals? By
success, I mean academic achievement and a college degree. Self esteem is crucial to the well being
and happiness of individuals. However, too much self esteem makes people become narcissistic,
which is destructive and superfluous to becoming successful. Therefore, self esteemcannot engender
success, which is corroborated with the self esteem movement, but it can cause the well being of
individuals.
The self esteem movement over the last few decades confirms that self esteem is not essential to
success and academic achievement. The self esteem movement started in the 1960 s where people
thought that therapy was okay. In the article, A Short ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows that a copious amount of students have described themselves above average when
there can only be half of them above average in order to maintain the average. This means that a
lot students have high self esteem and are becoming narcissistic, which means that some of them
would not get what they expected. The students would either hurt themselves when they fail or
hurt others with their behavior if they succeed. Therefore, self esteem is dangerous and
destructive. After that, Kremer asserts, An intervention that encourages [students] to feel good
about themselves, regardless of work, may remove the reason to work hard, writes Baumeister
(3). This means students with high self esteem are hindered to work hard because they are
confident about their skills that they think they do not need to work hard and be assiduous. This
shows that self esteem is not crucial to success and academic achievement. Although self esteem
is not crucial for success and academic achievement, it is essential for the well being of
individuals. In the Ted Talk, How to practice emotional first aid, Guy Winch states, We know from
dozens of studies that when your self esteem is lower, you are more vulnerable to stress and
anxiety (13:07). This means that people with low self esteem are more likely to experience a lot
stress and have

The real estate market in India has become so huge that to get every thing or anything specific
