Telus Spark Observation Essay
This week had a big focus on our prototype project because it is coming down to the final weeks of
this projects before we go to Telus Spark for the celebration of learning night. So in order to prepare
for this we had a grade 10 science class come and test our projects and the people form Telus spark
came for a second visit. In addition to spending so much time on our prototype project, there has
been a lot of focus on our core subjects; so it has definitely been a very jam packed week.

On wednesday this week members for Telus Spark came again to see how our projects were coming
along and to again, provide any information that they could to help push our projects to that next
level and make them even better. This time around Revecca and ... Show more content on

Taking social test s have always been a struggle for me, just because they are so long and it is a
lot of reading, trying to pull out different pieces of information and figuring out what exactly they
are asking. They are also very sneaky and make some of the answers quite similar. Even though I
have taken social test s like this for all of my middle school career they never get any easier! When
it came to math, I generally just did not exile in the measurement unit very well, even though I
studied and did practice questions. Hopefully the next unit will go a little better, but some of my
friends that have math said that the next unit is really hard, so I am quite scared. Wish me
Sfr1 Week 6 Mini Case
Before Apple Inc. decides to issue bonds in Switzerland, its management team has to take a few
issues and factors into consideration before authorizing SFr1.25bn worth of debt to be put in the
company s books. General perceptions of Apple as a cashed up, financially dominant company
are not without basis. With $194bn in cash and marketable securities, Apple executives would
need to consider if they really need the money and what use would an extra 1.25bn in Swiss
Francs be to them. However, they need not look further than Apple s Capital Return Plan , where
Apple have executed (their) capital return program aggressively, and (they ve) now taken action on
over $112 billion of our $130 billion program. (Luca Maestri, Apple SVC CFO, Transcripts,... Show

Switzerland has traditionally been perceived as a sort of safe haven for investors to keep their
cash due to its political and economic stability. The cliché is omnipresent in Hollywood movies
(namely The Wolf of Wall Street), books and various forms of media. In some ways this still
holds true as several key economic indicators still reflect positively on the economy. As of
December 2014, Switzerland had an unemployment rate of 3.2%, and GDP per capita of $54,800
(Doerr et al., 2015). As comparison, United States had 7.2% unemployment rate and GDP per
capita of $52,800. Additionally, the strength of the Swiss Franc itself would also be a discussion
point at a board meeting. Apple executives would likely have timed the sale of their Swiss bonds
after the Swiss National Bank (SNB) surprisingly decided to unpeg the Swiss Franc from the Euro,
preventing the Franc from being affected by uncertainty in Europe. This would ve made Switzerland
a more attractive destination as the Franc has always been a strong currency when pitted against other
Leadership Style of Angela Merkel

It will also compare Angela Merkel s leadership style to servant leadership style. It will also
describe how servant leadership may or may not change the outcomes of the Euro crisis. In the
closure of the dissertation, I will discuss my own leadership philosophy.

people what to do, she doesn t give orders, and she isn t bossy or pushy. She doesn t throw
Germany s weight around or make demands. She simply sets parameters, and then lets everybody
else make choices themselves. Merkel s leadership style is prudent, democratic, and modest. Merkel
prefers discussion, deliberation and consensus (Zeeb, 2013). The Germans call her Mutti (mummy),
because she understands what her country wants and makes sure her country gets it (Zeeb, 2013

Hitler Propaganda And Nazi Propaganda
In a time of war, when people are needy and weak, what worked rather well for the Nazi party to
get its country back in shape was propaganda. Before World War 2 (1933 1938), the Nazis used
propaganda to brainwash their citizens into believing that Germany was the best country, to create
anti Semitism. After losing the first great war which caused a major depression in the state, Nazi
s used Jewish people as a scapegoat for Germany s suffering economy and poor moral. This idea of
using propaganda against the Jews tied into the Nazi ideology. Nazi ideology came to be after Adolf
Hitlerand others created the National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP) (Alpha History 1).
They called this ideology that they developed National Socialism , which is now called Nazismtoday.
This ideology was the centerpiece that the Nazi Partymoved around. However, The NSDAP didn t
have a very clear expression of its ideology, the only documents that had concrete evidence were the
Twenty Five points (1920), and Hitler s journal, Mein Kampf (1924). (Alpha History 1). The core
beliefs of the Nazi party are as shown: Authoritarianism, Totalitarianism, Nationalism, Militarism,
Expansionism, Economic sovereignty, Traditional values, and Racialism (BBC 1 2). The effective
use of propaganda; which is Defined as: information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to

What Type Of Business Will Fit With The Demographic And...
Scope
We are living in a world where new things get invented essentially every day. Almost everything
we do is involved technology. Due to this fast paced lifestyle, having a successful business, where
you can please the customers and making profits, isn t as easy as before. There are myriad factors
that can affect your business: financial, competitive, employment, etc. Having said that, one of the
first things that can decide whether it s going to be a prosperous business or not is the knowledge
about the area that you want to place the business. In another word, is this the best location for your
business? Thus, I will be using my professional analysis skills in this assignment to determine what
type of business would fit with the demographic and geographic of San Diego.
Objectives
San Diego s population is made up of the majority of young adults. As I mentioned earlier, because
of this fast moving style of living; sometimes, we fail to remember to take a break and take in
what life s giving us. Especially the young generation, we spend most of our time on social media;
more specifically, our phones. We forget to look back to our pasts: the things that we did as we
were young, the games that we played, or the food that we had. For this reason, I think that a 90s
theme coffee shop would be a great fit for the city.
Methodology
To fully understand about the city s life and culture, I went to the city s website to find any
information that can help me know more about the
Haemoglobin Synthesis
In order for haemoglobin to be made from the base sequence provided, protein sysnthesis needs to
occur. Consequently, two major events are involved; transcription, which makes messenger RNA
(mRNA) that holds the codons that tRNA will translate into amino acids and eventually a
polypeptide; and transcription, which makes polypetide chains that make proteins. In relation the
hameglobin structure, the DNA(base sequence provided) partially unwinds, so it can be read. RNA
polymerase enzymes attach onto the promoter reigon of the gene. The RNA polymerase assists in the
complementray base pairing of free ribonucleotides with exposed bases of the template strand of
DNA. Therefore, new hyrdogen bonds will be formed between the bases of DNA and the newly
formed RNA molecule. When the RNA polymerase reaches the terminal reigon of the gene,
hydrogen bonds break of and a newly formed mRNA strand C A U C U A A C C C C A G A G G A
G is created.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With that being said, this mRNA sequence codes for six codons and six amino acids. After the
creation of mRNA, proteins need to be made in order to make hameglobin, through translation.
The mRNA strand exits the nucleus and attaches onto a ribosominal sub unit, within the
cytoplasm. Every three letters, which code for one amino acid is read, as the mRNA strand flows
through the ribomsomes. Once the mRNA is positioned properly in the ribosomal sub uint, it
triggers the approach for tRNA. Each tRNA (anti codon) brings one amino acid and complentary
binds it with the mRNA codon. The tRNA will then drop off its amio acids, which will be attached
onto the growing polypeptide chain. Once the polypeptide chain has gained all the needed amino
acids for new protein, it will break of the ribosome and make its way to the endoplasmic reticulum.
Later on these amino acids will combine and create a hemoglobin protein (McKinley, O Loughlin

Essay On Easter Island
Polynesian Expansion Easter Island, previously named Rapa Nui, is mostly famous for its 10
metre tall Moai statues dotting the Island. Easter Island is located on the eastern point of the
Polynesian Triangle. Easter Island has four extinct volcanoes, but its largest is Rano Kau, located
on the southwestern headland. Rapa Nui was first settled by Hotu Matu a in 400 CE. He came
from the Marquesas in two large canoes with his wife and extended family. The Polynesians
navigated Rapa Nui, using only the stars and stick charts. They used double hulled canoes as a
source of transportation, to get to Rapa Nui. Some people believe that a tribe of Polynesian island
hoppers discovered Easter Island, but Hotu Matu a, was, the original discoverer.... Show more

They used canoes as a source of transportation. Their first canoes were not sturdy enough for open
waters and would capsize if a large wave came. Over time they built their canoes stronger and
used a double hull method to give the vessel more stability. These canoes were called outriggers
and could withstand deep waters (Textbook, 2013). This is what Hotu Matu a used to get to Rapa
Nui with his wife and extended family. Hotu Matu a started the population off at Rapa Nui and
spread the word about it. Soon there were many people on Rapa Nui, as many as 2000 to 3000
inhabitants. There are over 800 Moai statues on Rapa Nui, one for almost every family
(Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, 2017). The Maoi statues were carved around
1200 C.E to 1500 C.E and weighed close to 12700 kilograms, they were 10 metres tall and were
believed to protect their creators. Once the word got around that these Moai statues protected their
owners, every person on the island wanted one. This used all the resources and soon they couldn t
even hunt, because there was no wood to make weapons. Some people believe that the Moai statues
were placed by gods, and they walked into place, however the only evidence that points towards this
theory, is that these statues were far too heavy to be moved by man. There are scientific
investigations taking place right now, trying to prove that
Key Elements Of Persuasive Communication
Persuasion is described as the deliberate process that intends to change an individual s attitudes,
behaviours or beliefs from their previous initial views and ways of behaving in society. Persuasive
communication is widespread and evident all around us, including in central areas of politics,
marketing and media. Burkholder et al s (2003) findings support the idea that there are cultural
differences evident in the effectiveness of persuasion, in which they found that shortly after the end
of the Iraq war, surveys indicated that although Americans favoured the use of military action against
Iraq by 2:1, Europeans opposed it by the same margin. There are four key factors that help influence
persuasion amongst the masses, depending on their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The central route to persuasion requires high efforts of processing which occurs through a
complex structure, thus leads to longer lasting effects of persuasion. However, if an audience is
lacking in motivation, in which they are not analytical or involved with the message they are more
likely to take the peripheral route to persuasion. In this case, peripheral cues are used in which
these cues trigger an acceptance of the messages thus leading to persuasion, which is usually a
temporary effect [Myers et al 2016 p190 191].

Social psychologists have not only studied the effects of persuasion, but also the elements that
contribute to attitude change. Carl Hovland (1953) developed the Hovland Yale model of persuasion,
in which he used a research team from Yale University. They found that there are a considerable
number of factors that can influence how likely attitude changes are to occur, however they also
noticed that some are more important than others [McGuire et al 1996]. One of the key factors they
found that determines whether persuasion occurs is the communicator. Social psychologists have
found that persuasion can be influenced depending about who is presenting the argument, which can
impact on how an audience receives it. The credibility of the communicator plays a large role in
influencing persuasion, in which
The Trial Of The White House
On August 6, Lewinsky appeared before the grand jury to begin her testimony, and on August 17
President Clinton testified. Contrary to his testimony in the Paula Jones sexual harassment case,
President Clinton acknowledged to prosecutors from the office of the independent counsel that
he had had an extramarital affair with Ms. Lewinsky. In four hours of closed door testimony,
conducted in the Map Room of the White House, Clinton spoke live via closed circuit television
to a grand jury in a nearby federal courthouse. He was the first sitting president ever to testify
before a grand jury investigating his conduct. That evening, President Clinton also gave a four
minute televised address to the nation in which he admitted he had engaged in an inappropriate
relationship with Lewinsky. In the brief speech, which was wrought with legalisms, the word sex
was never spoken, and the word regret was used only in reference to his admission that he misled
the public and his family. Five weeks later, on February 12, the Senate voted on whether to remove
Clinton from office. The president was acquitted on both articles of impeachment. The prosecution
needed a two thirds majority to convict but failed to achieve even a bare majority. Rejecting the
first charge of perjury, 45 Democrats and 10 Republicans voted not guilty, and on the charge of
obstruction of justice the Senate was split 50 50. After the trial concluded, President Clinton said he
was profoundly sorry for the burden
Nonlethal Capture Techniques
This paper presents an analysis of various forms of nonlethal species capture techniques applicable
to waterfowl and other aquatic prone bird species. The methods described therein are humane in that
they pose little to no harm to the species, are economically feasible and applicable to natural
resource managers on a wide scale of budget, and are effective in their usage. The described
techniques consist of a remote controlled sedative injection device that utilizes an IM anesthetic and
syringe for nonlethal immobilization of the animal, a night time inflatable water boat approach
coupled with dip net and handheld spotlight for minimal nest disturbance, a modified leg hold trap
that utilizes nonlethal customizations to minimize injury to the animal while remaining effective in
use, and a modified rocket net setup that can be staked into shallow water substrates for capture of
aquatic bird species.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Positive Behavior Support Pbs
Positive and Negative Reinforcement Kevin Freeman Grand Canyon University: SPE 522
October 2 20126, Reinforcement is an essential part in identifying and encouraging a certain
behavior. In the most classic definition, positive reinforcement is a method of identifying to
children which behaviors are acceptable and appropriate and which are not (Sigler, E. Aamidor,
S, 2005). Reinforcement is often given as praise for doing a certain task. As educators, saying great
job or a simple word like fantastic are expressed towards students as praise. However, when a student
is struggling and praise is given such as you are doing so well , the negative aspects of praise
present themselves. The child is aware of the empty praise... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Raul is very intelligent and needs to get verbal praise throughout his day to stay on task. His
triggers are usually when he is asked to sit down within the circle during circle time. The behavior
is him pulling away, crying, and hitting, trying to escape the actual activity. The maintaining
consequence is that the adults let Raul leave the circle. There is not much fight with Raul
because all those involved do not want the other students to become distracted. The first
prevention is to give Raul some type of choice to coincide with circle time. A visual activity
schedule could give him a more clear idea of what he should be doing and what the daily lessons
and activities are. Raul will know exactly where he needs to be and what he needs to be doing at
that particular time. Also, manipulatives and intermittent praise are other preventions that the
teacher can use. Intermittent praise is praised use throughout the activity but not regularly. This
type of praise is given to become persistent. The new skills that can be developed are a part of the
plan and may be implemented accordingly. Raul may have increased time of engagement, such as
a longer duration of sitting within the circle. Raul will say all done when he has completed a task
so praise can be given. This will help the adults notice him if he is not given the correct amount of
attention. The responses to Raul for sitting longer will also be all positive praise toward Positive
The Leader Of The Anabaptist Movement
For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. This quote
from 1 Corinthians 3:11 appeared in many of his works and points to the Christ centeredness of his
theology (Machiel). This verse reflected on what he believed and the entire movement that he led
during his time. He made huge contributions to the Anabaptistmovement and later became their
leader. Menno Simonslived from 1496 1559, during his life of 63 years he was a man of many
different things like being a priest, leader of the Anabaptists, a husband and a father. Very little is
unknown about Simon s childhood except for that he grew up in a very poor peasant environment
with his mother and father. His parents were most likely to have been dairy farmers (Machiel). He
married and had three children after he left the Roman Catholic Church. When he was training to
become a priest he learned Latin and some Greek and he never read the bible before or during his
training because he didn t want it to influence his Catholic beliefs. It is not exactly known where
Simons may have received his training but it was probably in a nearby monastery (Machiel).
When he was finished with his training he was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest in 1524 at
Utrecht. For twelve years he was a Roman Catholic priest and for the first seven years he severed as
parish priest in his fathers village of Pingjum and later for five years in Witmarsum where he was
born. Later on in his life he wrote
