There are a few key aspects of dairy farming that need to be monitored carefully or result in
unwanted outcomes. This includes the voltage on the fences around the farm, the temperature of the
milk that is in the vat and the activity of the water pump. A constant monitoring system of these
three important farming aspects could improve farm profitability. A mobile phone application will
be designed to incorporate monitoring of these three activities. If the fences do not have the
required voltage on them this can result in animals escaping and injuring themselves. This can be
difficult to monitor as currently to do this you are required to be on the farm using a fence tester.
The milk temperature is required to be below 7 degrees Celsius within 3 hours by the milk
company to ensure it is safe for human consumption. This is done through using chiller machines as
if the milk does not reach this temperature in time the entire vat full of milk must be disposed of
which causes a loss of income for the
Individualism In The Bean Trees
A Search for Something New One s individuality is what sets them apart from everyone else. The
Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver develops the story of a very strong woman, Taylor Greer who
has made it her goal to establish her own individuality. This novel follows the once named Marietta
Greer on her journey from her roots in Pittman County, Kentucky to her new adventure out west
where she changes her name, her outlooks, and her way of life. On the journey to self discovery,
Taylor realizes that she must discover how to balance her individualism with her family community.
The theme of the balance of individuality and community is prevalent throughout The Bean Trees.
The reader is introduced to Taylor s unique individuality combined with the community ideal in
Kentucky. There, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Taylor meets and instantly bonds with another newly single mother, Lou Ann Ruiz. Taylor and
Turtle move in with Lou Ann and her baby boy Dwayne Ray, and the two women become very
good friends. In the beginning of the families staying together, Lou Ann stays at home with the
kids while Taylor works. Taylor does not like the new living arrangement because she believes
that they are beginning to seem too similar to a nuclear family. To Lou Ann, she says, It s not like
we re family for Christ s sake. You ve got your own life to live, and I ve got mine. You don t have
to do all this stuff for me (89). In the heat of this moment Taylor is overwhelmed by the idea of an
actual caring familial group. It is difficult for Taylor to let people help her without feeling as if she
is losing some of her own individualism. Because Lou Ann hasn t developed a strong sense of self
esteem and individualism, Taylor seems to become frustrated with her. Throughout The Bean Trees,
Taylor and Lou Ann are able to grow together, both blooming into their own unique
The Consequences Of Unprotected Sex
I think yes, but not everything was able to be included about these issues. It shows the
experiences that could happen to an average teenager if they have unprotected sex. Showing it s
not exactly the best thing to have sex at the age of 16. It can be both responsible, and
irresponsible to be pregnant at a very young age. Meaning, it d be irresponsible to have unsafe, or
unprotected sex, without considering or knowing the consequences it can have on your life. In
spite of the fact that it can also be a responsible choice, IF, you have already been planning this
(for good reasons), and you are entirely ready to raise a child of your own, or you would be
knowing what to do after the event of childbirth, Which I would be doubting, since at that age, you
would most likely be having an education.
Tragic Hero In Oedipus
The archetypal term tragic hero was originally coined by the Greek philosopher Aristotle in Poetics
as he began to theorize Greek Tragedy. In the grand debate of who the archetypal tragic hero is,
Oedipus fulfills the position just as he fulfilled his inexorable fate with a tragic flaw that brought
about his downfall. As Aristotle states, Oedipuseventually comes to recognize his flaw and its
consequences, but only after it is too late to change or reverse the course of events.
Aristotle deems that a tragic hero is usually a man of noble birth in a position of authority who has
great promise, ability, and integrity of character. Oedipus satisfies this characteristic by making a
grand first impression as a wise and powerful leader when he solves the Riddle of the Sphinx.
Oedipus gains so much respect from the people that they pray to him as if he were a god, You are
not one of the immortal gods, we know; Yet we have come to you to make our prayer (1308, l. 35
36). The people of Thebes blindly took Oedipus in as their King; they were blinded by relief and
high hopes that his wisdom could cure their cursed land. Aristotle further asserts that a tragic hero
should also believe in his own freedom to make choices when faced with dilemmas. That being
said, the cause for which the hero fights must be a noble one. Oedipus sets out to save Thebes from
the plagued rust that brings famine, hunger, stillborns, death, etc. which acts as Oedipus s noble
cause. However, the reader
A Brief Note On The United Arab Emirates
Healthcare in the United Arab Emirates
Katie Williams
Alaska Career College
Abstract
The United Arab Emirates is a Middle Eastern country full of history and culture that is modernizing
and revamping its healthcare system to better serve the needs of the people. Depending on where
one plans to visit, it is important to observe the cultural and social norms of the population.
In D.H Lawrence s The Horse Dealer s Daughter, Mabel Pervin and her three brothers are left with
debts to pay after the death of their father. To pay these debts, the Pervins are forced to sell every
horse that they own. Then, they must separately create new lives elsewhere. Although Mabel s
brothers have decided where they will be going and what they will be doing, as the story opens,
Mabel s fate seems undetermined. Her apparent inability to plan her future is initially a source of
tension and conflict. However, the events that unfold make clear that the life that Mabel has led for
the past twenty seven years has molded her into a determined and independent woman. Through these

She will not allow her brothers to persuade her to live with her sister Lucy. She will not allow
herself to be taken into another household in which she will not be heard. In this obstinence she
stands in marked contrast with her brothers. While they are described as subject animal[s] in the
face of their future (239), Mabel s bulldog face shows her determination (238). She fights
stubbornly for her independence. Her determination and power are manifested when the doctor, Jack
Ferguson, comes to visit. Notably, Jack is immediately made uncomfortable by the way she looks at
him. Even in her silence, she wields a power that intimidates Jack.
This idea of Mabel being intimidating may seem counter to later events in the story. When Mabel
visits her mother s grave, she tends it gently and softly. Mabel feels most at home at the graveside
because there is no danger of rejection from the dead. Knowing that death will not reject her, Mabel
shortly thereafter walks out into the middle of a pond. Everything about the pond suggests death. It
is referred to as the dead water, the dead cold, and the dead cold pond (248). Since there is no
rejection from the dead, Mabel embraces this acceptance by attempting to be consumed by death.
However, the ironic power of her attempted suicide is reflected in the sudden action she inspires in
Jack. The moment that Jack sees Mabel in the water he is strangely
Cosmetics And Self-Esteem
Although, cosmetics can have a very positive effect on our self esteem, they can also have a very
negative effect on our health. Many chemicals in cosmetics can undermine your internal health and
they can damage your skin. Some people can go all their lives and not have a problem with any
cosmetics, others are not as lucky. Cosmetic products include much more than just make up.
According to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the law defines cosmeticsas articles
intended to be rubbed, poured, sprinkled, or sprayed on, introduced into, or otherwise applied to the
human body... for cleansing, beautifying, promoting attractiveness, or altering the appearance. This
includes makeup, perfumes, hair dye, lipsticks, fingernail polish,... Show more content on

(Huff) Many of the products have not been tested thoroughly. Even when the products are tested the
results are not always direct and clear. Some ingredients in cosmetics are toxic if used in large
amounts, but the amount of these ingredients are much less than the amount used in studies. Experts
also do not know how much of the ingredient is absorbed into the body. Human studies of the long
term effects of cosmetics do not exist, so there is little evidence of the risk of cancer from these
products. This means that cosmetic companies cannot claim that these products are safe for use.
Although, in the United Sates, cosmetics must be regulated by the FDA, so cosmetics must be safe,
but the FDA does not have the authority to make companies test their products. The FDA will hold
the companies responsible for the safety of their customers. Products that are not tested must have a
label warning customers that the product has not been tested.
Cosmetics sold for retail must have the ingredients listed on the label. This list does not have to
include secret trade ingredients. Products used by professionals are not required to list the
ingredients. The FDA does have the authority to take action if a product is not safe. The FDA can
initiate criminal action, refuse entry of an imported cosmetic, request the US marshals to seize the
product, or ask a federal court to issue an injunction. The FDA cannot
Pulmonary Drug Delivery of Peptides and Proteins
Pulmonary drug delivery of peptides and proteins is highly desirable because of many advantages
such as rapid and predictable onset of action, high relative bioavailability and non invasive mode of
administration which improves patient compliance. In the current study the effect of sugar carrier
type (trehaloseas non reducing and maltose as reducing sugar), hydroxy propyl β cyclodextrin
concentration (0%, 0.02% and 0.04%) and adding tween 80 as surfactant on physicochemical
stability and aerosol performance of spray freeze dried salmon calcitonin was investigated. High
performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis indicated that cyclodextrin concentration had
the most important effect on powder s chemical stability and by increasing the concentration of
cyclodextrin stability of the formulations increase dramatically. Based on the chemical stability data
four formulations (chemical stability over than 90% ) was selected for further examinations.
Fluorescence spectroscopy and circular dichroism data suggest that these chemically stable
formulations are structurally stable too. Aerosol performance data shows that surfactant free
formulations produce higher fine particle fraction (approximately 70%) than surfactant containing
formulations (approximately 50%). It may be due to the more cohesive structure of surfactant
containing formulations.

Propaganda In The Film The Eternal Jew, Directed By Fritz...
The Nazis described the Jews as the embodiment of evil, the opposite humans, rats, and a threat to
the Aryan race. They felt the needed to appropriate and rewrite their history, inscribing it with a
new meaning [Confino]. The inconceivable part is that their ideals came across to a large group
of people. How did they do this? Propaganda was used extensively by the Nazis. They did
everything in their power to make sure their message was clear. Propaganda is the spreading of
ideas, information, or allegations to support or harm a cause. It is represented in a way to provoke
a desired response. [Sheridan Libraries] The Nazis, for instance, used propaganda very effectively.
You could only read, see, and hear what the Nazis wanted. In 1933,... Show more content on

It was mostly in charge of German media, ensuring the Nazi message was successfully
communicated through art, music, theater, films, books, radio, educational materials, and the
press. [USHMM] Individuals involved in any of these areas had to join the Reich Chamber and
they decided who could join. Films produced by the Reich Commerce were a large influence on
people. For example, in the film, The Eternal Jew (1940), directed by Fritz Hipper, portrayed the
Jews as wandering cultural parasites and consumed by materialistic things. Also, the Nazi
message was clear in books. For example, the book Trust no Fox in the Green Meadow and no
Jew on his Oath was book with many anti Semitic illustrations directed towards children. Another
way Nazis used propaganda was in the former of art. In 1937, an exhibition was set up to showcase
art that the Nazis considered degenerate. I chose this topic because I wanted to understand how the
Nazis were able to persuade Germany. The holocaust teaches us about how easily we can harm
others. Learning from our past and our mistakes forms a better future. Even though the Holocaust is
a complicated subject, we can all agree that taking the lives of others is unethical. The victims should
be commemorated, and we should all educate ourselves about the truth. The truth that leads to
