the wall.
(b) Without the use of tables and calculators, find the values of:
(i) cos 75°
(ii) sin 27° cos 18° +cos 27° sin 18°.
10. (a) Use the quadratic formula to solve 3x2 − 6x + 2 = 0 correct to 3 decimal places.
(b) Find the value of m, p and k such that 2x2 − 8x + 15 = m(x + p)2 + k.

12. (a) Sketch a rectangular pyramid whose base is PQRS, vertex is at W and
Centre is at N, then answer the questions that follow:
i) State the projection of 𝑅𝑊 on PQRS.
ii) Name the angle between WS and the plane PQRS.
(c) Given two towns 𝑷and𝑸, and all are found on the equator. If the longitudes of
𝑷 and 𝑸 are 𝟑𝟓𝟎𝑬 and𝟔𝟒𝟎𝑾respectively. Find the angle subtended by the arc
𝑷̂𝑸at the Centre of the earth and hence determine its distance in nautical
miles

(b) A farmer can buy two types of food in cubic meters, Food I contains units of
vitamins that is 20 units of Vitamin A, 30 units of Vitamin B and 5 units of
Vitamin C. Food II contains10 units of Vitamin A, 30 units of Vitamin B and
10 units of Vitamin C. The costs needed per Vitamin is 460 units, 960 units,
220 units of Vitamin A, B and C respectively. A cost per each type are 10,000/=
and 15,000/= of Food I and II respectively.
(i) Formulate linear programming problem inequalities.
(ii) Find the minimum cost for each Type of Food.
