New Product Development
Responsible for On-time Part Development for New Products as per Project Milestone.
Responsible for Parts development with SRS, APQP, ESI & AOI,DVP,Warranty,Sign-Off.
Target Cost Deployment & providing the Boundary Conditions to the designer to reduce the Cost.
Target Cost sign off with CFT members.
Source identification for new product development in the commodity of electrical parts.
Sending RFQ to relevant different suppliers & comparing and negotiating the cost.
Providing Supplier Feedbacks & Supplier drawings Approval for Proprietary parts.
Carrying out Zero based Costing of parts before finalizing purchase price part costing and Budgeting.
Based on market analyses, competitors benchmarking & customer needs, to meet the QCD targets.
Conducting IPTR/SPTR, Joint Inspection & PPAP Run and PSW Sign-Off for the same.
Coordinating with the Logistics team for the timely delivery of goods to manufacturing plants.

ORGANISATIONAL EXPERIENCE
SIGNIFICANT HIGHLIGHTS IN CAPACITY ENHANCEMENT:
Part development completions and capacity ramp up done for GS310 model (BMW – 310cc vehicle) for
13 parts i.e Magneto, Starter motor, Wiring harness & Gear position sensor, Cooling Fan, Regulator.
TVS Apache RR 310 & BMW Vehicle Various countries GS 310 Vehicle Wiring harness developed
within shot span of time.
Import supplier management for direct parts and indirect parts.

Handled Ignition system & Starting system parts/suppliers with key roles as QCDD monitoring of
existing domestic & export models of 2W & 3W
Wiring Harness capacity established for the models for Wego, Jupiter, Zest and Scooty & Motor cycle
models of Apache Star series and Moped within shot span of time.
Developed 10 exclusive parts completed APAP, PPAP approval & Productionized Up to 500/day for
Exclusive 3W parts. Achieved Target cost for all parts.
Supporting for Spares service requirement for achieving the Zero pending for 3,7days service level.
Commercials are settled for serviceable parts
SIGNIFICANT HIGHLIGHTS IN MATERIAL COST REDUCTION:
Material cost reductions of Rs 550/veh in BMW project parts by strip down analysis and zero Based
costing, negotiations with supplier.
Achieved the cost reduction of Rs.150/veh in 3W in Wiring Harness by Feature comparison and routing
optimization with competitor vehicle.
Achieved cost reduction of Rs 20/veh in 2W in Wiring Harness by alternate sourcing of PVC Film
Achieved cost reduction of Rs 25 Lakhs in Float alternate source development in Fuel Sender Unit
Weight norms correction in all models of Wiring Harness, achieved Annual cost saving of Rs 1.2 Cr by
frequent supplier visit and process audit.
By self-initiative design change proposed given and part cost reduced of Rs 25/veh for 3W Diesel
vehicle.
Obtaining the Volume discount from supplier by Negotiation year on year.
SIGNIFICANT HIGHLIGHTS IN QUALITY IMPROVEMENT:
Magneto (K03, K02 & U69) – Major Field Complaint of Stator coil burnt issue field failure sample joint
study done along with suppliers to identify the root cause. Actions identified and implemented in 3
phases.
o Phase 1: Introduction of sleeve for stator coil 3rd phase
o Phase 2: Cover Magneto Machining to reduce the rib height and to avoid short circuit with stator
coil by benchmarking the product design
o Phase 3: Staggered Design Stator coil & Bobbin height increase are the additional changes for
field failure issues
Gear position sensor (K03, K02 & U69) – Water Entry Field failure actions has been addressed thru
sealant SI5910 application on the grommet area. RTV 9186 application on the IC & Potting solution
changed from CN- 8760G to (MC 5506+ W5506)
Cooling fan ( K03, K02 & U69) -Detailed process flow, DFMEA & PFMEA Joint study done to identify
design & process improvement actions for cooling fan quality issues. Major issues of sealing Oozing
out and welding open will be addressed by introduction of Rear Cap insitu molding.
GS 310 BMW vehicle Wiring harness process improved to meet GS 95006-1 2009-12 standard
requirements by installing fixtures and additional equipment ( Compact point guide, Ultrasonic welding,
auto chopper, wire leak test installing machine, fuse camera installation, Pneumatic test bench with
interlocking circuit jigs.
GS 310 Magneto process improvement by introducing Auto soldering machine for pulser coil, auto
identification in Final performance test machine, High pressure cleaning at final stage to avoid burr
issue)
Drawing Regularisation – End to End maping study done and all wiring harness drawings regularised
as per actual parts and agreement with BMW
3W Cord Set Starter relay - Corrugated tube added for relax wire to avoid short circuit with body

Wiring harness water entry complaint eliminated by introducing jelly filled sleeve at floor board area.

STANDARISATION:
Created cost structure template for Wiring Harness across all models of 2W & 3W at first time in TVSM
