New Release Announcement
The cnMaestro 5.1.1 release brings a major update to our platform with MarketApps, an
Advanced service within cnMaestro designed to provide tailored Apps for streamlining network
management. MarketApps offers specialized tools that allow cnMaestro X users to add value to
their customers and end users, addressing the unique challenges faced by customers.
This update introduces two apps for MarketApps for the Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) market:
Managed Wi-Fi and Self-Service Personal Wi-Fi, which enable property managers, residents
and service providers to effortlessly manage Wi-Fi access with a simplified workflow.
This release also strengthens network security by introducing High Availability for NSE,
ensuring a more secure and reliable network.

1. MarketApps
MarketApps is Cambium’s Advanced Service that helps customers and end users
amplify the value of their Cambium Networks’ deployment with use case specific,
microservices-based applications. These apps can be browser-based or mobile-based
and can be targeted at cnMaestro users, end users, or API-integrated 3rd party apps.
This release brings two specialized apps for MDU MSPs:
A. Managed Wi-Fi
B. Self-Service Personal Wi-Fi
A. Managed Wi-Fi:
Managed Wi-Fi provides property managers with a platform to oversee and manage Wi-
Fi networks across their property. It supports both community-wide Wi-Fi networks and
personalized Wi-Fi for residents.
The Community Wi-Fi feature enables property managers to create and manage a single
SSID for all residents within a property. Meanwhile, the Personal Wi-Fi feature allows
residents to set up and manage their own unique SSID within the property.
Administrators can also customize the branding and interface for both property manager
and resident portals. Once set up, administrators can invite property owners to:
• Assign Unit: Assign a unit to a resident.
• Send Portal Link: Provide the resident with a link to access their portal.
• Suspend: Temporarily deactivate a unit.
• Extend: Prolong a unit’s assignment duration.
• Terminate: End a unit’s assignment, making it available for reassignment
B. Self-Service Personal Wi-Fi
With Self-Service Personal Wi-Fi, administrators can easily provide tenants to set up
their own personalized Wi-Fi networks:
1. QR Code Setup: Administrators provide tenants with a QR code.
2. Access Portal: Tenants scan the QR code and are redirected to a self-service portal
to verify their email.
3. Email Link: Tenants receive an email with a link to the Wi-Fi Manager App, where
they can create their own SSID and password.
4. Connect: Tenants connect to their personalized Wi-Fi network using the SSID they
created.
2. High Availability for NSE
Starting with the 5.1.1 release, the NSE3000 supports High Availability (HA). Firewalls
are crucial for maintaining network operations by controlling and monitoring traffic. In the
event of hardware failure, the entire network could go down, leading to downtime until
the hardware is replaced. High Availability is a design strategy that ensures continuous
operation by preventing single points of failure, keeping the network running even in the
event of hardware or software issues.
The NSE3000 supports active/passive High Availability. An HA pair consists of a primary
and a spare unit. If the primary unit fails, the spare unit automatically becomes active,
and all network traffic is rerouted through it.
High Availability requires two NSE3000 units. The spare unit does not require a separate
subscription. This feature works with the existing NSE3000 subscription and does not
require any additional subscriptions.
3. Minor Enhancements
• cnMaestro now allows for bulk renaming of Wi-Fi access points (APs) during the
device claiming process, streamlining setup for large deployments.
• A button to export device subscriptions is added to Manage subscriptions page.
Delete on expiry, swap subscriptions and change subscription have been moved to
Action dropdown.
• Software update support is now available for PTP 48670 and 486700 devices. The
Software update tab is found at the System/Tower/Device levels
Note: This feature is supported for PTP 48670 and 48700 devices that run software
version 04-10 or above.
